0.9.17

Updates
• Enhanced Marketplace: The Illisor Plaza market strip will now grow in size as you progress in the game, making the village feel more alive as you play. See below for screenshots of this new feature!
 • Procedurally generated merchant's will now sell goods at the market, providing a randomized set of stock at a cheaper rate per day. Not every day is the same, so look out for what's in store!
 • Procedurally generated stalls make the market strip look slightly different every day.
 • Cheaper market rates introduces new trading gameplay. Will you buy limited goods for convenience? Or sell them on for the standard rate via the market drop box?
 • More variety to these shops will be added in future updates.

 • The shopping UI has been slightly adjusted, and now includes a "Stock" column for merchants with limited supply of items.
 • A tooltip will now display when attempting to gather resources (wood, stone, etc) when you're inventory is full.
Bugfixes
• Fixed an issue where the player could not pick up more museum artefacts that stack in their inventory if all of their inventory slots were occupied.
 • Fixed an issue where the in-game time will reset to the beginning (Year 1, Spring, Day 1) when using the Wardrobe item to customise your appearance.

March 2024 Newsletter

Greetings Travellers!

Let's take a look over the last month and highlight some community contributions!
Spring Sale, and Reviews! ⭐
First of all - a big thank you to those who have joined us recently after picking up the game during this months Spring Sale. This is the first time Tales from The Dancing Moon has been on sale, and I'm happy to have a bunch of new players join and experience the story. I hope you're having fun!

If you haven't already - please consider leaving a review. It always helps, even if there's room for improvement!
SteamDeck Verified! 🎮
Following on from last months newsletter update, I managed to provide a patch which bumps the SteamDeck rating from "Playable" to "Verified", this is due to some accessibility improvements such as font scaling, which enhances it's playability on smaller screens and higher resolutions.
Patch and Updates Recap 🛠️
[0.9.16] Brought a whole bunch of fixes, better consistency to the UI, and introduced an important update allowing font scaling! Players can now increase and decrease the font-size used for story, dialog, quests and other prompts to improve their comfort of reading.
Future Sneak Peek 👀
As the stability patches have become less frequent, it has allowed me to think more about creating updates that provide more significant and meaningful changes to the game. What's more is that I am always happy to receive feedback and ideas for those changes over on the Discord server!

Here's a little peek into one of the changes I'm planning for the in-game market place, which will hopefully bring a little more variety and life into the Central Plaza, with new stalls to wander through and merchants to purchase from.
Community Spotlight 🌟
McLana over on the Discord server has shown off a bunch of screenshots, including a clever use of storage using the building systems and a calming winter fishing on the lakes in the evening! Thanks for sharing McLana!

That's all for this months newsletter, thanks for tuning in and playing!

February 2024 Newsletter

Greetings Travellers!

Another month rolls by. Let's use this time to reflect over the last month and highlight some community contributions!
SteamDeck Compatibility Review (Playable!) 🎮
First off all - I was surprised to find yesterday that Steam went ahead and provided a SteamDeck Compatibility Review of the game and has determined that Tales from The Dancing Moon is Playable on the SteamDeck.

This means I now get to display the Steam Compatibility Badge right on the store page, and hopefully more SteamDeck players will start to discover my little game in their Discovery lists!

The key piece of feedback that was provided by Steam was in regards to the font sizes currently being used. The good news is that this was on my to-do list regardless.

After I address this, I will aim to be reviewed again in order to become Verified!
The Reviews Are In! ⭐
A huge THANK YOU to those who have left a review of the game over on the Steam page.

I've now reached over the 10 review goal, which means Steam now lists the official "Positive" rating alongside the game, and will start pushing it to new players in their discovery queues. I've already seen a big uptick of Wishlists and visitors since then!

If you haven't already - please consider leaving a review. It always helps, even if there's room for improvements!
Patch and Updates Recap 🛠️
Let's take a look at some of the key updates that occurred over the last month.

[0.9.14] Brought a new tile-based mini-game (shown above!), Steam Leaderboards, as well as some SteamDeck improvements to the game! Suffice to say - I'm absolutely stunned by the numbers that some players are reaching with the leaderboards!

[0.9.15] Enables players to customize their appearance during gameplay via a craftable wardrobe, as well as adds a new variety of procedural tasks to the in-game task board!
Steam Walkthrough Guides 📚
In the 0.9.14 update, I introduced a button on the main menu that takes the player to the official walkthrough guide published by myself. These guides are hosted on Steam to keep everything centralised to this platform.

Please Note: Tales from The Dancing Moon is a game with an emphasis on quests and figuring things out for yourself. If you need help it may be better to ask for hints on the Discord or forums before consulting this guide.

The guides focus on gameplay actions rather than story, to keep them as spoiler-free as possible.
