Treason Update #3 (03.08.2023)

Long time no see! This update took longer to cook than we'd hoped, but it's because it's just that good! Please share your feedback with us!

For starters, it appears that we hear an ambulance nearby: The Doctor has arrived to help Innocents resuscitate unconscious people and find out who the Traitors are!
If a player gets shot down when Doctor is present, they will have 30 seconds to be resuscitated before they die. But be careful with who you revive: Doctors can revive anyone (except Zombies), you might revive a Traitor!



We've updated the visuals of our old player models to be more unique and more detailed than ever: look at how gorgeous that Detective looks!



We are also seeing two brand new weapons in our stocks: Maschinenpistole 40 and the fan-favorite all-time classic Colt 1911!



One more change we think you would like is Steam statistics! You are now able to track different parameters that you achieved throughout your Treason playtime: number of correct/incorrect kills, your total score, number of wins, clues delivered and more! You will also get a level assigned, based on your total score!
PLEASE NOTE: previous playtime does not count towards these stats, so you will be starting from zero. Also, playtest and regular build stats are not shared!



And last but not least, the long-awaited role selection algorithm update! Previously, each player had sort of a "queue" system, where if they haven't gotten a specific role in a long time, they would have priority over other players in selection algorithm. Now, instead of this priority being the final say in your role, it will instead be a chance of you getting a role: the less you played as a specific role, the more of a chance you have of getting it, while the final say is now in the hands of random number generation. So it still tries to be fair (just like we originally intended!), but it is no longer as predictable as it was previously.

  • Fixed server crash when loading maps with missing models for physics props
  • Round end conditions are no longer checked each frame, which will help with server performance

    1. Medkit - Heal yourself
    2. Resuscitate - Resuscitate an unconscious person to find out who tried killing them
    3. Radar - Reveal unconscious players' locations for a short amount of time

  • Fixed flies effect being preserved on round restart if Zombie Traitor finished the round without dying

  • Traitors can now safely use team chat, team chat for Innocents has been removed
  • Fixed incorrect ratings at the end of Annihilation
  • Changed default ban duration for being kicked to 30 minutes (sv_vote_kick_ban_duration)
  • Decreased max player count to 16
  • Added a console command to toggle spectator voice chat: t_observer_voice_enabled (default: 0)
  • Added separate round time duration for Annihilation (in seconds): mp_roundtime_annihilation (default: 90)
  • Dead players can no longer initiate votes
  • Changed default vote quorum ratio (percentage of players who need to cast any vote for it to pass) to 80% (sv_vote_quorum_ratio)
  • Changed number of positive votes required for a vote to pass to 65% (sv_vote_positive_ratio)
  • Added vote cooldown in seconds: sv_vote_cooldown_timer (default: 30)
  • Planting a bomb will ensure that there is enough time in the round for it to explode
  • Lag compensation now triggers for all players in front of a shooting player, instead of only those that are in 45 degree angle of them
  • Karma and Score are now no longer affected if the game isn't running yet
  • Changing finger gun to other weapon will no longer freeze carried ragdoll in place
  • Dying with primed grenade in hands will now drop that grenade to the floor for it to explode
  • Quick switching a sniper is no longer faster than waiting for attack animation to end
  • Updated Sturmgewehr 44 accuracy, damage and rate of fire
  • Minor adjustments to player animations

  • Fixed incorrect team wins count in Spectator mode
  • Damage counter will no longer stay on-screen after level change
  • Kick message will now display correctly
  • Voice chat will now be rendered on top of round end panel
  • Aiming on a player with less than t_teamkill_karma_threshold (default: 50) karma will show a Low Karma message under their name
  • Added a HUD indicator to show that you currently have damage protection
  • Updated round end screen layout
  • Spectating a player will show their health
  • Updated vote panel layout
  • Changed Springfield scope to be more in-line with the real one
  • Fixed incorrect Karma and Score numbers in scoreboard showing up for players that have joined mid-round

Treason Update #2 (01.03.2023)

[STABILITY]
- Fixed SSE and SSE2 are required and Game shader trying to override a base shader errors on startup for players that have other Source Engine games in their PATH;
- Fixed a server crash when a player who did the first kill of the round left the server before the end of the round;

[GAMEPLAY]
- Added a team kill punisher: if a player is at or below t_teamkill_karma_threshold karma (default: 50), killing t_teamkill_limit teammates (default: 3) in a single round will result in a kick and a temporary ban, team kill counter will go down by 1 each round until it reaches 0;
- Updated existing voice lines and added new voice commands:
  • I'm walking here.
  • Deliver the clue.
  • Hold fire!
  • They're innocent.
  • Follow me.
  • Get out of here!
  • Sorry.
  • Stick together.

- Added Player Mute option in the main menu, that allows you to mute voice chat from specific players;
- Fixed incorrect name of t_rating_round_win_traitors console variable (previously shared name with t_rating_round_win_innocents);
- Added a soft limit of traitors: t_traitors_max (default: 4);
- Softcoded the number of traitors to be chosen: total number of players divided by t_traitors_prevalence (default: 4);
- Changed default values of some console variables:
  • t_revive_cooldown to 50;
  • t_dev_immunity_time to 10.0;
  • t_dev_immunity_damage to 0.25;
  • t_karma_round_win_alive to 15;
  • t_karma_kill_enemy to 5;
  • t_karma_kill_teammate to -12;
  • t_dev_clue_glow_time to 6.0;

- Creating a kick vote now requires specifying a reason for kick;
- Changed Detective selection algorithm, now it's much less likely that the same person will be a Detective more than once in a row;
- Added a brand new Don model, that will also be used for players during Annihilation rounds;
- C.P.U. now has an arrow icon, showing it's location, when you hold a clue (can be toggled client-side using t_disable_cpu_icon);
- Zombie Traitors will now have flies particle flying around them;
- Picking up a clue after round end will no longer preserve it for next round;
- Proximity voice chat is now automatically disabled at the end of the round;
- Bomb damage will now count as coming from the player who planted the bomb, so damaging someone with a bomb will now show up in your damage counter;
- Added a console variable to toggle in-game hints: cl_hudhint_enable;
- Hints, that require you to approach a certain entity (such as C.P.U. hints or Clue hints) will no longer trigger when you are spectating;
- Fixed incorrect Hat model skins for Mafia (when the hat is shot off);
- Don's body glow will now produce a sound;

[UI]
- Round end screen will no longer show irrelevant stats in Annihilation;
- Changed font of HUD menus (such as voice commands menu);
- Made voice status panel wider;
- Removed rounded corners from hint box, making it look consistent with the rest of the design;
- When spectating a player, you will now see their Steam name next to their Pseudo name;
- Voting music will no longer be stopped when casting a vote;
- Round end screen will now show player of the match and final kill of the match if it was the last round;
- Round end screen will now show Zombie Traitors separately, at the end of traitors list;
- When you are a Traitor and have been revealed, player card will now have a target icon over your role icon;
- Made background of Play or Spectate menu darker;
- Main menu music will now restart when leaving the server through main menu button;
- Spectator UI will now fade out when round end panel is fading in;
- Game icon has been slightly updated;
