TwitchCon LAN & Beta Update
Marauders Beta
Hey there Pirates, Raiders, and anyone else who’s been following along with the ongoing development of Marauders. We love y’all and are thrilled to have you here!

We have some exciting news to share with you today about the live Beta, our appearance at TwitchCon, and some additional info from the team. So let’s get into it.
Closed Beta
In case you missed the announcement from early this week, the Beta will be live from July 20th at 4:00pm GMT until July 25th at 4:00pm GMT for everyone who has pre-ordered the game. Now before we get into the details of what’s in the Beta, we want to address a question that’s sure to pop up: Why is the Beta only five days long?

Firstly, it’s not some cruel trick on the part of us. We would love for you all to play much longer. However, The Small Impact Games team is a very small crew, so running and operating the Beta requires a lot of hands on deck working around the clock. If our team is focused on running the Beta, it takes away from their time spent actually working on the game itself.

By running a five-day testing period, it gives us enough time to gather feedback and data while not running so long that we’re not delaying the implementation of said feedback and data. We hope you all understand and want you to enjoy the five days that you have lootin’ and shootin’. Then we’d love to have you give us thoughtful critiques that we can use to make subsequent builds even better.

Now as for what’s new in the Beta. As compared to the Alpha, it runs the full gamut from new content like locations, weapons, cosmetics, and mission options to improved visuals and quality-of-life improvements. We’ve also reduced the spawn rate of the Capital Ship (the Breachable raid location from the Alpha). You can read the full detailed list of changes in our previous post.

We will also be keeping you all regularly updated throughout the Beta via content in Discord and on social media, so make sure to keep your eyes on those places.
TwitchCon
On July 17th from 10:30 CEST (Amsterdam time) until 17:30 CEST, the “Battle For the Void” event will be going on in the LAN area. This will be for up to teams of two to battle for supremacy as the best Space Pirates. Winners will get exclusive Marauders loot and a copy of the game. For those unable to attend in person, the entire thing will be streamed live on - you’ll never guess where - Twitch!
What’s Next?
Once the Beta is fully wrapped and in the rearview, we’re going to waste no time in moving onto the next chapter of Marauders.

We’ll be celebrating the conclusion of the Beta with an AMA in Discord, so stay tuned for more details on that. We will also get to work analysing and implementing the data from the Beta so we can work towards the next major milestone: launching into Early Access later this year.

That’s all for today’s update. Thanks for reading and we’ll see you all at TwitchCon this weekend!
