Greetings & Salutations,

We hope you are doing well!

We are proud to present the Early Access Patch #7 that comes with many changes relative to the inventory, objectives exposition, Doctor & “death mode”.

This Patch #7 will be the last one for the early access of Silent Rain.
The next update of the game will be for the 1.0 Version that include the 2nd map “Lost In Metro”.

For the occasion, a little message from the dev team: Since we released Silent Rain in early access on October 20, we haven't stopped working hard to provide an experience that meets our ambitions. We acknowledge that the project was launched with numerous bugs and some design issues, and we apologize if Silent Rain left you disappointed. We are a small team of developers and this is our very first game, but we have always strived to do our best, and then some.
We sincerely hope that this final patch (along with the six others before it) will allow you to enjoy the time you spend in our game. And to all the players who continued to play the game, sent us kind words, and provided feedback: Thank you from the bottom of our hearts ❤️

Now lets dive in the details of this new patch !

[h2]New features[/h2]
  • New "Supervisor" feature that guide the player on the objectives in the game.
    • You can call them at anytime to be reminded of your current objective!
  • New "Dead" feature that transform a dead player into a bug that screams at other players when too close. This replaces the previous "Ghost" feature.
    • Screams alert the Doctor, so be careful… Or evil 😈
  • The UV Lamp is now physically hold in the right hand.
    • Others items are hold in the left hand.
  • Two new Achievement to unlock that go with the new "Dead" feature.

[h2]Enhancements[/h2]
  • New Inventory display and new feedback on picking items.
  • New Stamina bar (now on center of the screen).
  • New Hints on different mechanics (cocoon, drawer opening, uv lamp).
  • The Doctor now has a deathcam (first iteration, a better animation is coming).
  • New settings to disable different parts of the UI.
  • Audio polish.

[h2]Balancing[/h2]
  • The Doctor’s difficulty has been lowered (he will loose you more quickly now, he hears from less far, he's a bit slower too)

[h2]Bug Fixes[/h2]
  • Sometimes, the ticking sound of the pocket watch didn't play.
  • The Doctor could know you were in a locker without seeing you enter it.
  • When the Doctor slashed you the moment you entered a locker, you would have been teleported back to the locker after being freed of the cocoon.
  • The music relating to the Doctor's state could double or even triple during the game, making the audio very confusing.
  • Sometimes the music of the game did not stop when returning to the menu.
  • Sometimes, the symbols were hard to reveal.
  • When you started a game, the player’s speed could be incorrect.
  • Your distinctive skin color could be back to default after a revive.
  • When you got the “Good Ending”, the text would not appear correctly.
  • The controller would not always respond correctly in menus.
  • If you ran while opening the cameras panel, your stamina would continue to be drained.
  • When you entered the camera panel while crounching, you would still be counched when exiting it but would conserve standing speed.
  • Numerous other minor fixes.

[h2]Translations[/h2]
  • The Supervisor has been translated into English and French and the translations for the other languages will come really soon.

[h2]🕒 What’s Next?[/h2]
  • We’re all working very hard on our second map : Lost In Metro. It takes time but we’re trying to offer you the best experience we can with Silent Rain.
  • Lost In Metro” will include :
    • An entirely new setting.
    • A new monster : Reclusa.
    • New Puzzles.
    • New Items.
    • New environment interactions.
    • New lore regarding the mysterious entity that lurks through the Silent Rain.
  • The playtests for “Lost in Metro” will begin this month (2024 May). Join our Discord for upcoming news.

Early Access Patch Notes #6

Hello everyone,

We hope you are well.
We are quite happy today to present the Patch 6, one of the biggest patches we have made so far and present our complete rework of the player character.
Welcome to the "Seeker", the brand new agent you play as, and let's dive into the details of this patch!

[h2]New features[/h2]
  • Player Character rework:
    • New player character model.
    • New player character movement animations.
    • New hand animations: the objects you pick up are now actually held in the hand.
    • Adding a new character customization system in the Lobby (we will continue to improve it in the coming patches).
    • New first person camera shakes (the option to remove it is currently disabled but we will put it back very soon).
  • Removed collisions between players, and added a character fadeout when you are too close.
  • New ragdoll death animation.
  • New tutorial pop-up when outlining a drawer for the first time.
  • New Feedback form on Main menu & Pause menu.
  • New Bug Report form on Main menu & Pause menu.

[h2]Enhancements[/h2]
  • More coherent voice lines from the Doctor when he chases or loses track of the player.
  • Multiple improvements to ambient audio and player sounds.
  • New disgusting bugs swarming in the basement.
  • More optimization on network performance.
  • Better loading time when starting the game.
  • Multiple minor enhancements.

[h2]Balancing[/h2]
  • Increasing player stamina.
  • Some tweak on Doctor detection senses and speed.
  • Game Over now only occurs when all players are in Ghost and not when they are all in a cocoon.
  • Easier Diaries location.

[h2]Bug Fixes[/h2]
  • Fixed the breathing sound when having no more stamina that could loop indefinitely.
  • Fixed musics that can double after the Doctor teleport.
  • Fixed the camera shake that don't stop when going to Ghost mode.
  • Fixed Pocket Watch and Radar that continued to make noise in Locker.
  • Fixed the Doctor that can be blocked if a player hold the door.
  • Multiple minor bug fixes.

[h2]Translations[/h2]
  • Added missing characters in Chinese and Korean.

[h2]🕒 What’s Next?[/h2]
  • Metro Playtests: Development on the next map continues to go well, we will soon make an announcement to do playtests with community players, as well as show you more about the new environment and monster!
  • Liaison Agent: The next patch will introduce a brand new non-player character which will allow the player to be better guided in their missions and which will add a whole new narrative layer.

We sincerely hope that the new year has started well for you 🙂
As we continue working hard on our upcoming map "Metro" (we can't wait to share more about the new monster!), we're thrilled to introduce Early Access Patch 5.
Let's dive into the details :

[h2]Enhancements[/h2]
  • Doc’s Green Bottles: Added a subtle light source to the green bottles of the Doc.
  • Terror Effect: Increased the intensity of the "terror" effect appearing on the player’s screen when near the Doc.
  • Pocket Watch: Now, the pocket watch ceases ticking when all symbols are found, indicating no remaining symbols to discover.
  • UI Refinement: Moved the Notebook section and Cards display count from the main menu to the lobby, making it map-specific (preparing for Metro’s arrival).
  • Graphics Settings: Enhanced Graphics Settings parameters for better customization.
  • Seasonal Decor: Removed Christmas decorations.
  • Audio: Improvements on audio reverberation and voice chat.
  • Visuals: Various minor visual improvements and optimization.


[h2]Bug Fixes[/h2]
  • Main Menu Fatal Error: Rectified a critical error occurring when players returned to the main menu from a launched game. If encountered again, please let us know.
  • Item Disappearance: Fixed an issue where dropping an item while crouching could cause it to vanish.
  • Latency-Induced Doc Teleportation: Addressed a problem where high-latency clients could make the Doc appear to "teleport" during movements.
  • Achievement: Resolved an issue where the achievement “Feed the Baby” failed to unlock properly.
  • Network Optimization: Further optimized network performance.
  • Miscellaneous Fixes: Numerous other minor bug fixes.


[h2]🕒 What’s Next?[/h2]
  • Demo Release: Expect a new demo version by week's end, enabling more players to sample the game before purchase.
  • Patch 6: More focuses on feature enhancements and general improvements.
  • Metro Development: A significant Part of the team is continuing work on Metro, which is progressing very well, we can't wait to show you what's next.
    We plan to solicit some players from the community during March to carry out some beta testing. Stay tuned for updates!

Hello everyone,

As we roll out the final Patch of 2023, we want to take a moment to wish each and every one of you a happy holiday season and a good time celebrating. We know 2023 has been a bit of a rollercoaster for the gaming industry, but hey, we made it! It's been a wild ride to release the Early Access of Silent Rain, but the passion and the incredible support that we received all along this year has been the force holding it all together. So, the Seedlers team is extremely grateful for doing what we love and bringing that extra bit of heart to everything we do.

As we look forward to an exciting 2024 with new developments, including the spine-chilling Metro map, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your support and enthusiasm.

Now, let's dive into the details of the latest patch!

[h2]Enhancements[/h2]
  • Continued improvement of the voice chat system with a new occlusion effect and a reverberation effect based on the size of the room.
  • When overlapping another player with your cursor, you will now be able to see their Steam name.
  • In the Settings, you can now find parameters that allow you to hide the UI and enter an "Immersive mode", in order to take clean screenshots for example.
  • Some minor audio improvements.
  • Some minor UI enhancements.
  • Some minor game optimization improvements.


[h2]Bug Fixes[/h2]
  • Significant improvement in how network player interactions work (items, doors, drawers, etc.). This change completely fixes the bug where, by interacting with a drawer or a door, the player could find themselves with their camera blocked in the interaction.
  • Fixed a bug where chase music could duplicate over the course of a game.
