Open beta test for Online mode, with free roaming!
ONLINE mode available in public-beta
To opt into the public-beta for PC:
- Open up Steam
- Right click VS
- Click properties
- Select betas
- Select public beta
- Close the properties window
- The beta version should then download and be ready to play*
- Press ONLINE on the main menu, then either create a room or join a friend's room

This is a list of gameplay changes compared to a standard local co-op run:
- Batch level up - Depending on the player count you will only see level up after all players have leveled up. So on 4 players the level up screen will only show every 4 levels.
- DLC - You will only be able to use DLC online if every player owns that DLC. We're retro-fitting Online into an originally single player game written in JS by a solo dev, so there are a lot of technical issues we have to move around or worry about later, one of which is the way that DLC expansions are handled.
- Free Roam - In online you are not restricted to the same screen, you can all freely move around the stage independently. (Note: You will be pulled into a boss room if any player walks into it)
- Spectator mode - When you die in multiplayer you can use the mouse to jump to players who are still alive. You also respawn where they are if you are spectating them.
- Achievements - You will have the choice at the end of the run to carry over any achievements earned in that run back into your own save file.
- Speed up - Disabled in online.
- Pause menu - To help flow, when you pause, you do not pause for everyone else, you just get a small window of invincibility

THE TABLETOP GAME
After a ton of iterations and hours of in-person playtesting, we can finally announce Vampire Survivors: The Board Game! It's a 2-4 player co-op game being made by Grey Fox Games and has been designed by Emerson Matsuuchi, who created the Metal Gear Solid tabletop game.
We've spent a long time making sure the board game 'feels' as much like Vampire Survivors as possible. That means runs where you unlock new content for your next play through, a built-in leveling system, fan favourite characters like Antonio, Imelda and Poe (of course), plus lots of weapons, passives and evolutions.
"Register your interest" below to get an email when we launch our Kickstarter page, plus a free little deck box at launch if you pledge $1 (this is taken off the full price): http://vampiresurvivorstheboardgame.com/

Online mode FAQS
- How do I opt into the public beta on Steam?
- Open up Steam
- Right click VS
- Click properties
- Select betas
- Select public beta
- Close the properties window
- The beta version should then download and be ready to play
- Fully quit out and then re-start Steam if nothing changes instead
- When will the patch come out on the default branch?
This Autumn, on all platforms (PC, Console, Mobile)
- Will my save data carry over between public beta and the default branch?
Yes, but it's always better to make a backup of your save file or store it in the poncle account
- Do I get Achievements for playing in public beta?
Yes, unlocked achievements will pop automatically after we add them to Steam in Autumn
- How long will be the public-beta?
Features and content will be added to the beta until late September, then the beta will simply remain active until the full launch
- Will there be matchmaking?
Online is purely cooperative and can be played by sharing room codes (or by joining rooms through platform invites, just not during the public-beta)
- Will there be Cross Play?
Definitely not at launch. We're looking into it, but the bureaucracy from certain platfroms around Cross Play is insane and clearly thought for massive titles (think Fortnite), so we'll worry about it later
- How do I leave feedback?
You can post on the Public Beta Steam forum, but also please consider using our Discord because it makes it a lot easier for us to collect information
- Will I have to pay to play the Online mode?
No, it's a free update for anyone that purchases the base game on PC or Console.
The exception will be for the mobile version: since the base game is free, you need to purchase at least 1 Expansion pack to enable Online mode

Getting a 1 gives you +77% Curse and -777% Luck for 10 seconds and triggers shooting star hazards. Getting a 6 gives you a bonus of +777% Luck and +77% Move Speed for 30 seconds and spawns light sources around you.
■ New character: Zi'Appunta Belpaese Explosive props appear while moving around. They have a small chance to drop a treasure chest, that could be a Golden Treasure Chest. Golden Treasure Chests only contain new weapons, that aren't added immediately to your weapon slots, but remain available on the ground as pickups instead.
