Haste: Broken Worlds is silly-fast, momentum-based fun, and there’s a demo out now

I’m sorry to announce that I am yet again going to speak highly of a game about going up and down hills, real quickly like. Haste: Broken Worlds, from Clustertruck and Totally Accurate Battlegrounds devs Landfall, is very much about the haste first and the broken worlds second, sending you hurtling across the inclines of its cartoon gauntlets at what Chris Morris would call terrifying legspeeds.

The HASTE Demo is out!
Today's the day!
We've officially launched our demo for Steam Next Fest and we're so excited for you all to try it out!
Check it out here!
DEMO FEATURES:
 • Tutorial
 • Small hub world
 • One shard to complete
 • One boss
 • Challenges
 • Story elements and NPCs

Once you've completed the demo shard, the difficulty bumps up, so you can replay with a bit more challenge! (This only happens once; it won't continue getting harder each time.) If you want to try the initial difficulty again, you can clear your save in the settings menu and restart the demo!

If you haven't already, feel free to join our new HASTE Discord where you can chat about the game and ask the devs questions!

We've set up a Discord where you can discuss the game and ask any questions you may have! You can join it here: https://discord.gg/hastebrokenworlds

HASTE Devblog #4: Art Timelapse & Demo Coming Soon!
Hey everyone!
In case you haven't heard already, we're working on a demo for HASTE! We're SO excited for you all to finally get your hands on the game and try out a little taste of it.

While the team is busy prepping the demo, we wanted to share a timelapse from one of the amazing artists working on the game. You can also check out Ink's work on Bluesky and Twitter!

In HASTE: Broken Worlds, Riza (A.K.A the Keeper) is an enthusiastic observer of the Courier's adventure. She takes notes and asks about everything, with an uncanny ability to show up wherever something exciting is about to happen. Despite her seemingly genuine desire for friendship, she's unwilling to speak about where she's from and why she's cataloguing everything.

The Keeper is one of many NPCs in the game, and while the demo won't give you a full picture of everyone in the Courier's crew, we're super keen for you to get a taste of the narrative!

Some of you might remember seeing multiple playable characters in early versions of the game, and while the Courier is the only playable character now, we've kept the abilities that these other characters had! And all of them are still featured as NPCs in the story.

Make sure to follow us on our socials (linked below) if you wanna see more content showing off the game! :)

HASTE Devblog #3: Long time no see!
Hello everyone! It's been a while since we made an update on Steam about what's happening with HASTE, so let's get into it!
For those of you who don't know, we temporarily paused parts of development because some of the HASTE team took time off to develop Content Warning.

You can check out Content Warning here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2881650/Content_Warning/
But since August, we've all been back working on HASTE!
We kick-started development again by going on a month-long work trip to Mexico! Since the whole team is based all over the world, we were excited to work on the game together in one place and we made a lot of progress.

(Very serious team photo.)

Since then, it's been full steam ahead working on every aspect of the game. Lots of improvements and new content have been added, and we're really loving how the game is coming together. HASTE has changed a lot since the first concept, so we're excited to be showcasing more of the game in the coming months!

(We're also in the process of updating the store page info, so we can better describe what the game is now!)

If you follow us on other platforms you might have seen some of this already, but we wanted to share a taste of what we've been up to.

The Courier teams up with a whole crew of fun characters on her journey through HASTE, and our artists have been working hard on their designs and models.

We've also been playing around with different character designs for the antagonists of the story. Some of these options have already been eliminated, but we wanted to share them anyway! Lots of ideas get thrown out or reworked throughout the development process, so it's fun to see the path that was taken to the final game (and to show off the incredible work of our artists!)

In addition to characters, we've been refining different environments within the game. Here's a concept sketch of the Resting Area where you can heal up during a run!

A number of different challenges will also pop up during your runs, each with its own illustration, like the one below.

Here's a clip of a new biome we've added for certain levels: the Ethereal World.

We've also been working on an ice world. The music changes with each biome and we're super excited to be giving a sneak peek of the soundtrack here!

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

And lastly, we've been working on lots of items and abilities, like the grappling hook we've been testing out.
Please keep in mind that the game is still under development so everything shown here might not end up in the final build.

We're super keen to be back focusing on HASTE and we can't wait to share more with you all! :)
