The Enjenir V0.5 HUGE UPDATE + STEAM WORKSHOP! 🤯

Hey everyone!

We have yet another huge update for you today, which includes one of the most requested features for the game finally here - Steam Workshop Support! The other changes are listed at the bottom of the patch notes, but the main ticket item is Steam Workshop features.

In its current state, the Steam Workshop integration allows players to easily share / upload / download your favourite saves - all within the game!

To view all the builds that have been uploaded, from the Main Menu - just click "Browse Workshop"

Once in this menu, you can browse through all the uploaded builds already available, and download the ones you want. Usually, if the contraption is controllable using the wiring system - they controls/keys are usually written in the description. Once downloaded, you can open them up straight away!

From here, you can view and play with the build, make tweaks and changes as you see fit! Once you are done, you can choose to "Save and Quit" and save your modified version of the build directly to a creative slot in the Sandbox mode, or you can just quit without saving.

"But don't I only have 10 Sandbox Save Slots?!" - Not anymore! We have completely revamped the Creative Mode save system, and you now have the ability to add as many saves as you want! (Technically there is a limit of ~200!) With these new Creative Mode changes comes an overhaul the Creative Mode loading screen to make all these changes clearer!

If you wish to add a brand new save slot - you can just click "Add New Save" at the bottom of the screen! We've also simplified how you can rename the Save slots, so you can remember what is in each save. We hope these new changes and the refreshed interface makes life easier to manage all your saves without needing to override olds ones :)

If you want to upload any of your builds to the Steam Workshop, simply pause the game and hit "Upload to Workshop" - remember to add a description and the key bindings for any controllable elements to it!

Also, the other changes available in this patch are are as follows:
 • Gears are now in the game! They can be placed onto surfaces, but also centrally along beams and logs. To switch between placing a gear flat on a surface, or centrally along a beam/log - just hit the Toggle button, which is set to "Shift" by default!

BETA: Steam Workshop Support for The Enjenir?! 🤯

Mini announcement for the latest Beta Patch!

We've just added Steam Workshop support for The Enjenir! This build is currently in Beta, which you can opt into on Steam if you want to check out what some of the other beta testers have been building!

Calling all enjenirs out there, that if you have time and are able, if you could upload your best builds to the workshop, that would be awesome! The more builds uploaded the better! To upload, all you need to do is pause the game and click "Upload to Workshop"....... it's that easy!

You'll see a bunch of UI changes to the creative mode loading screen too, with all your saves listed in a grid which you can now handily rename. Also, we've now added the ability to just add new Creative Mode save slots, so you are no longer restricted to just 10 save slots!

We've added a Browse Workshop option from the menu, which allows you to view and play other peoples builds!

We're already seeing some awesome builds in there so thanks to everyone who has already started uploading stuff. The cooler the stuff we can have in the workshop when the official workshop support goes properly live, the better!

Thanks again!

'The Enjenir' - 1 Year Anniversary! 🎂

Hello Fellow Enjenirs!

Today marks an incredible milestone - it’s been exactly one whole year since The Enjenir launched into Early Access! 🤯 It’s hard to believe that a full year has passed already - time flies when you’re developing your dream game!
A Big Thank You!
First and foremost, both myself and Neil want to say THANK YOU! Whether you’ve been with us since the early days of TikTok posts or if you’ve only just joined us recently, your enthusiasm has made all the difference to us. Every new player, Steam review, and engagement with us has helped shape The Enjenir into what it is today. Hearing how much fun people are having and seeing all the amazing (or sometimes barely functional but hilarious 😂) contraptions is what keeps us going!

Over the past 12 months, we’ve worked super hard to expand and improve the game. I was going to recap all the changes to the game since launch, but there’s honestly just too much to list! Including our beta branch, we have patched the game a total of 41 different times in the last year, including 11 major content updates, which have each added fundamental changes to how the game can be played!

Looking back at old footage of the game, we’re honestly amazed at how much the game has progressed in that time, and how much better the game looks and plays right now! We’re so focused on all the recent changes we’re making, it’s sometimes easy to forget the bigger picture and appreciate all the different changes that have been made.

Of course - we’re still not finished with The Enjenir, as we have more content, mechanics, and changes up our sleeves for everyone 🙂 Stay tuned and keep an eye on our Discord for sneak peeks into upcoming features! Like the upcoming Steam Workshop support coming in the next update 👀
Celebratory Sale!
To celebrate the anniversary of the launch, and of course the festive season - we’ve got a special anniversary sale where the game will be 30% off for the duration of the Steam Winter Sale, starting tomorrow! So if you haven’t picked the game up yet, now is a perfect time to dive in!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Once again, from both myself and Neil, thank you all for an amazing year. Your support means the world to us, and we wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! 🎄🎁

Cillín & Neil 💚💙

Nominate "The Enjenir" for a Steam Award! 🔨

Calling all enjenirs out there who have enjoyed the challenge of designing load-bearing structures, or grappling unexpected dynamic forces (like giant cats...) we need your expertise!

We're aware there have been a tonne of awesome games released this year, but we would be honoured to have your vote for a Steam award this year!

The Enjenir was designed based on a series of unique and innovative gameplay mechanics where:
 • Literally every building material and character in the game simulates physics
 • You have a completely gridless world at your disposal to build whatever you want!

We feel these mechanics make it an ideal candidate for "Most Innovative Gameplay" award - but honestly any vote in any category you feel the game is worthy would be amazing! And if you haven't already, a positive review goes a long way to help our development - increasing morale and helping with the steam algorithm!

Also, if you haven't already seen it, check out our latest update which has just added aerodynamics to the game, making it possible to all sorts of flying contraptions!

Anyways, thanks again for all your support and kind words!

🚁 Aerodynamics Update ✈️

Hey everyone, we’ve just dropped a new update to The Enjenir introducing Aerodynamics! 🤯

This new mechanic allows players to create different types of flying contraptions, like the example below from one of our beta testers:

In this example, 100% of the lift and steering is generated from aerodynamic forces applied to some really clever flap designs—how cool is that?

How does it work?
Now, we're obviously not running NASA grade Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for our aerodynamics calculations... we are trying to run an actual game at 60fps here! 🙂 What we have done though, is a really streamlined (no pun intended) and simpler system that helps simulate aerodynamics in an efficient way, calculating the velocity of a given sheet, with a force applied proportionally to the normal of it's largest face... Simple!

How do I enable aerodynamics?
For stability, performance and gameplay reasons, these aerodynamic forces are only applied to sheets with their “Aerodynamics Enabled.” Enabling it for a given sheet is super simple! Just click on a sheet using the Select Tool, and tick “Aerodynamics Enabled", as shown in the image below:

And yes, it’s even possible to use these properties to create functioning helicopters! Yes, once again - 100% of the lift on this helicopter is generated through the aerodynamic forces of the propellors pushing the helicopter upwards! Making these contraptions really made us appreciate how complex the mechanics of a helicopter really are...

Also, interestingly - the forces also work in water - so you can use the aerodynamics to create an actual functioning rudder in the water!

What’s next?
We’ll be closely monitoring how players use Aerodynamics and we will continue to tweak and improve the mechanics throughout Early Access.

Our next update is likely to a big one, as we're hoping to add Gears back into the game, as well as integrated Steam Workshop support to make it super easy to share builds between players! No ETA on that just yet, but keep your eyes peeled!

Once again. thanks so much to everyone for all your support as we continue to build The Enjenir!
