The Enjenir V0.2 - Huge Update! 🤯

Patch Notes: V0.2a 4th of May 2024

Hey everyone, BIG BIG BIG update for you all today!

Full Patch Notes:

New Content:
  • New fully integrated level in the campaign mode called “Frozen Peaks” which has 10 brand-new missions!

  • Painting Tool - you can now choose to paint any member a different colour! This comes with a fully integrated colour picker. So unleash your inner Bob Ross!

Or you could do like me, & reinforce the stereotype that engineers don't usually make good artists... Exhibit A below...

  • Friction Settings - the paint tool also allows you to change a members friction when you paint it - think of it like greasing up something and making it slippy if you remove the friction, or super sticky if you crank it up to the max!

  • "Setting Out" tools - We have expanded the tools available to help plan designs and take measurements. Alongside “Construction Lines” are now the “Level Tool” (which gives you a spot level) and the “Measure Tool” which gives you an array of different measurement information. We hope this will improve people's experience and allow you to plan things a little easier!

  • The game is now available in French! Et oui! This is however a work in progress and labeled as "BETA" in game, as we are aware of certain elements (like the tutorial signs, and some UI) are not translating into French, and some of the French needs to be tweaked and improved in general… It was manually translated by me after all!
General changes to the game:
  • You can now nail members to blocks! This should make it much easier to improve stability of how a structure is fixed to the ground when using foundation blocks!
  • The physics behind the third person character have been extensively tweaked to improve the experience with the character.
    • He now walks a lot straighter!
    • His feet no longer clash together (so his feet no longer get caught on each other)
    • He can raise his feet higher when manually walking (if you hold the A or D key)
    • His ability to turn is improved
    • He can now jump a bit higher and farther
  • 2 New Save Slots added to the sandbox mode
  • Added support for 5120x2880 resolution
Bug Fixes:
  • Fixed the block datum resetting after leaving and re-entering sandbox mode. Now blocks will remain fixed to first placed blocks height.
  • Fixed Triangular sheets not getting nailed in properly - side effect of the bug fix will mean previously placed triangular sheets in old save will load as square sheets, however any new triangular sheets will work as intended.
  • Fixed bug occurring where blocks clashed when placed close to multiple mortars/landscape tile edges.
  • Fixed issue where construction lines were visible when they should not be visible.
  • Fixed construction line guide showing when not needed.
  • Fixed a bug in the third person character's jumping - which was causing him to have inconsistent jumping height and distance.

Thanks again to each and everyone for your support! Myself and Neil are having a blast developing The Enjenir, and have loved engaging with people on here and on Discord! ♥

Oh, and another friendly reminder if you haven't already, pleaser consider leaving a review on Steam if you can! We are so close to 300 reviews!!

All the best,

Developer Update + ⚡ 20% OFF! ⚡

It has been just three months since we launched 'The Enjenir' into Early Access, and with this being our first dedicated discount for the game (Steam Spring Sale aside) we wanted to give you a rundown of all the major changes to the game since launch… because there are... a lot!

We have been consistently patching and updating the game since launch, adding a tonne of new content, quality of life improvements, bug fixes and optimisations across the board! Included in these additions, are features specifically requested by our community! Like our latest patch last week which added the ability to create controllable and driveable contraptions:
So here are just some of the changes we've made:
• We have overhauled the save functionality, with autosaving and save in progress now available
  • Implementation of conventional WASD controls for the character with his Enjenirmobile!
  • General improvements to the ragdoll character's walking and climbing
  • We have added Copy Properties and the highly requested Undo Function for building
  • We have added powered items:

    • Hydraulic Pistons
    • Motorised Rotators
    • Rocket / Wyvern Engines
    • Explosives
    • Potato Spawner
  • Wiring System allowing control of powered contraptions
  • New building items, like Wooden Chains and Triangular Sheets
  • Integrated Community Build Challenges! [Check the link below!]
  • Unlocked all levels and all missions as standard
  • Bug fixes, optimisations and improvements - across the board
  • We've added even more awesome 'Lofi Medieval Beats To Build Cool Stuff To'! 🕺💃
  • And much much more... too much to add here!

As you can see, we've added a lot of stuff to the game... and we have a tonne more on the way as we work towards the 1.0 release towards the end of 2024!

Once again, both myself and Neil want to thank everyone's support for helping us create and shape 'The Enjenir' into the best possible game it can be! ❤️

Community Build Challenge: Design a Functional Bridge 🌉🌉

Hey everyone,

In the last patch, we finally incorporated COMMUNITY BUILD CHALLENGES directly into the game!

This first integrated challenge is themed around bridge engineering 🌉 With the added plot twist... that all of your bridges will be judged by an actual real life bridge engineering specialist who has over 25 years' experience designing & building different types of bridges all around the world! 🤯

With all the new additions to the game since the last challenge - like powered rotators, pistons, wooden chains, rope improvements, wyvern engines, explosives, potato spawners… and most importantly, the new advanced wiring system that making everything controllable… we want to see what kind of bridges YOU can make!

The ultimate goal here is to build an awesome but functional bridge, literally bridging the gap between these two river banks, as indicated in the screenshot below. Bonus points will be given to bridges with either:
  • Moveable parts/mechanisms to them, or
  • Traditional and classic bridge designs!
Since this challenge is in the sandbox mode, you have unlimited resources at your disposal, and remember to make the most of all the new parts available in your Misc Chest! Also, due to the size of this challenge, and all the brand-new mechanics involved - we’ll be leaving the challenge open for 1 full month! Entries close on 28th of April. So submit your entries with images and videos on Discord here!

Best of luck to everyone, and thanks again for all the support on enjeniring journey! ❤️

Controllable Contraptions - New Wiring System, and more!

Patch Notes: V0.1G 22nd March 2024

Hey everyone - another awesome update today!

We’ve completely revamped the sandbox mode wiring system to allow players way to actively control contraptions in game, AND the ability to control them while playing as The Enjenir! 🤯

Hope you folk enjoy this one, and looking forward to seeing what

Brand new features!
  • Wiring System A new wire system has been added, which removes the need for Universal Controllers. You can now simply bind controllable members to your 1–9 keys using the new wiring system. To use the system you need to:
  • Click on the member you want to control
  • “Wire” it to a 1-9 (by left-clicking the function and dragging onto the specified key)
  • You can have multiple items linked to the same key to create more intricate movements!
  • Once set up, this wiring system allows you to control your structures and contraptions using the 1-9 key once they have been built, either from the building camera, or the third person character!

Items you can control with the new Wiring System:
  • Rotators
  • Pistons
  • Potato Spawners
  • Wyvern Engines
  • Explosives
  • Propellers
Triangular Sheets
When placing sheets, you now have the ability to choose between 4 different sheet types, including 3 different triangular shapes. The default sheet remains the square sheet. As with the normal sheets, use the scroll wheel to change the scale of the sheet.

Wooden Chains
In addition to ropes, you can now place wooden chains for a different method of attaching two things together. These chains work differently to ropes (thanks Weigl/GHF for the idea!) and we’re excited to see how people use them!

Selection Tool
The selection of member types is now displayed differently, with the UI locked to the screen in the same place for every member. The way the items are highlighted is also a lot clearer, making it easier to understand which member is currently selected.

New Music!
We've added a whopping 12 new tracks to the in game soundtrack! More info to come on that soon... :jammies:

New Community Build Challenge
We've integrated the Community Build Challenge information directly into the main menu of the game! We'll be announcing the challenge information on the discord itself soon - you can check it out in game now for a early preview!
