🎬 The Absolute Cinema Challenge

[p]
[/p][p]After the great success of our previous challenges, we’re excited to launch this new and fresh Absolute Cinema Challenge - where your mission is to bring to life memorable scenes, settings, or iconic moments from movies and TV shows within The Enjenir!

Whether that's replicating the ship sinking from the Titanic (there definitely was room for Jack on piece of wood Rose...), or an epic bridge destruction scene from Mission Impossible - the choice is yours! From epic battles and dramatic standoffs to heartwarming scenes or thrilling set pieces - whether simple or complex, static or dynamic - we want to see your creativity and engineering skills shine through!

[/p][p][/p]
🎥 What to Build:
• [p] Movie or TV moments recreated in game. [/p]
  • [p]Builds can be static or dynamic - want to replicate an explosion, a famous chase, or a mechanical sequence? Go for it! [/p]
  • [p]Don’t worry about scale or complexity - whether it’s a single prop or an entire fortress, every entry is welcome. [/p]
  • [p]Remember that all levels are now available in Sandbox Mode - so make the most of them! [/p]
  • [p]Also, just to highlight the latest update includes the brand new Copy / Paste tool - which makes building structures at scale even faster! Just remember though, the more complex and more members in a scene, the more performance takes a hit - so build sensibly! More info on that new tool here: Copy Paste Update

    [/p]
📸 How to Submit:
• [p] The most important step is to upload your builds to Steam Workshop directly in game. Make sure you tick the "Community Challenge" option when doing so! [/p]
  • [p]If you use discord and want to share specific shots or videos, please follow the instructions here to share on Discord: Absolute Cinema
    [/p]
🏆 Judging Criteria:
• [p]Creativity & originality [/p]
  • [p]Recognition - can we tell which moment or set you recreated? [/p]
  • [p]Physics and mechanics - does your build hold up, move, or interact? [/p]
  • [p]Overall wow factor - how engaging or fun is your entry?

    [/p]
⏰ Deadline: August 31st
[p][/p][p]We’re excited to see your cinematic masterpieces, and as always, top entries will get featured on our YouTube and TikTok channels! [/p][p][/p][p]Happy building![/p][p][/p][p]Cillín & Neil [/p][p][/p]

Move / Copy & Paste Update🤯

Hello Enjenirs!

We’ve just dropped yet another big update yet, featuring the highly-requested "Move / Copy / Paste" feature, as well as a building precision mode, some new content creator themed character models, and lots more quality-of-life improvements and fixes. Full breakdown below! 👇

🛠️ Major New Features

Move & Copy Mode:
One of the most requested features is finally here! You can now select multiple objects using the Select Tool and either move them or copy & paste them.
As simple as it sounds to make, there is so much going on under the hood with different physics constraints and connections that this feature was much harder than you would have thought! But it's here now, and being able to Move and Copy selections makes it far easier to duplicate complex builds, reposition entire contraptions, or just experiment with layout changes.
It is only available in Sandbox Mode - as it's currently breaks the missions, but we'll continue to expand and refine this system and will add more functionality over time - and it’s already a powerful new tool for your creative toolkit!

Precision Mode:
A new toggle that allows for much finer rotation and scaling increments when building. Great for lining things up at specific angles or making detailed adjustments!

Mass Display in Selection: Selected objects now display their mass in kilograms (kg), helping you make better-informed design decisions.

🎮 Content Creator Additions
  • Real Civil Engineer, Martincitopants and Robbaz
Three content creators now appear in-game with their own playable characters and custom missions!
To unlock them as playable characters, go to Settings > Enable Content Creators.
🌴 Final Level Progress - Endgame Island Sneak Peak
  • We’ve been working on the final level of the game: Endgame Island.
It’s still in development, but here's a sneak peak... This is a major step towards our full 1.0 release - more on this soon!
🔧 Fixes and Quality of Life Improvements
  • All scroll bars are now much wider and easier to use
  • Alt Wheels can now be included in the "Disable Physics" selection system.
Improved Selection Tool: You can now select all object types
  • You can now rebind the following inputs:
    • Left click
    • Right click
    • Scroll up / down
    • Middle mouse
    • Skip build
    • Speed up / slow down build
    • Toggle Precision Mode
    • Fixed broken collision on the "Brig O’ No Return" mission
  • Lighthouse and bell now correctly disable their collisions when the mission is inactive

Also, we'll be launching our next Community Challenge at the end of this week, so keep an eye out for that soon!

Once again, thank you all your continued feedback, bug reports, and support.

We’re getting closer and closer to full release, and this update is another big step in that direction.

As always, let us know what you think, share your builds, and consider leaving a Steam review if you're enjoying the enjeniring!

Stay enjenious,

Cillín & Neil

🧙‍♂️ The Enjenir V0.7 - The Unhinged Update 🤯

Hello Enjenirs!

This major update brings some serious upgrades to your builds, adds a brand new level to explore, and introduces two game-changing components: hinges and springs! Plus, we've made key improvements to building mechanics!

More info below 👇
✨ New Content
• New Level: Explore the mysterious realm Under Beinn Dreich - our latest level.

This level sits between the Farm and the Seaside level - so relatively early enough in the game. One of the bits of feedback we get from folk was that the difficulty of the missions ramps up quite quickly, so this level should help to ease into the more difficult missions in the later levels.

  • Springs: One of our most highly requested feature - Springs! Easily create bouncy contraptions!

These springs also have with tweakable parameters allowing you to change Stiffness, Dampening, and it's Target Position.

Some players have already started integrating them into their vehicle designs to add working suspension!

  • Hinges: With this update, The Enjenir is significantly less unhinged thanks to... hinges! Now you no longer need to use convoluted rotator systems to emulate hinge-like features because you have... actual hinges!
⚙️ Improved Mechanics
• Revamped rotator physics (no more random stops and now are way more reliable)
  • Gradual braking system added to Rotators to avoid sudden stops
  • Piston reliability has been improved - now with over 76% fewer random piston explosions! 🤯
🔧 Minor Fixes & Tweaks
• Painting is now enabled on the new wheel system
  • Bracing can now attach to the new wheels
  • Reduced anvil placement offset to make it easier to place anvils
  • Various other bug fixes and optimizations
🚀 Coming Soon
We’re also planning our next community challenge which we will reveal more info on soon… and the submission will be a lot easier now, as it will be directly incorporated into the Steam Workshop!

Thanks once again to everyone for continuing to play and enjoy The Enjenir. As always, drop us a Steam review if you're enjoying the game's chaos, or perhaps it's precise engineering… depending on your playstyle! 😉

All the best,

Cillín & Neil

The Enjenir - V0.6 MAGNET UPDATE 🧲

The Enjenir V0.6 🛠️

Hey everyone, a nice big update for all you enjenirs out there, full of a mix of new content, new mechanics, improvements and more! 👋
New Content 🧩
• Added Magnets to the game 🧲 And not just any magnets - these are monopole magnets - that are technically electromagnets - since you can use the wiring system to turn them on and off with the touch of a key!
  • Brand New Wheel System - allowing a lot more flexibility when placing wheels. You can now use a "wheel only" system to place them centrally, as well as thickening them up! You can even place them directly inside a beam be press Left Shift - and use the select tool to make them fixed to that beam, or allow them to freely rotate - this should make vehicle building much easier!
  • Creative Sandbox mode in any level - get full sandbox features to build anything in any level - and share them on the steam workshop!
  • Added some playable Content Creators 3D to play as, or use as NPCs - Enable them in the settings!

    Recognise this creepy face? 👀
More characters to follow - let us know who you want to see in the game!
New Features ⚙️
• New Selection Tool
You can now use the select tool to select lots of items at the same time. At the moment, you can use this tool in sandbox mode to manually turn off physics for specific items. This makes things like building tracks, rollercoasters or certain structures easier (rock solid structures) while still having dynamic physics on moving parts (trains, vehicles etc.) There's also the added bonus of less items simulating physics = better performance!

  • Added a toggle in the settings which enables the automatic skipping of the building animation. If you're sick of speeding up the building timelapse, or clicking the skip button - you can now just change the settings to automatically always skip the building animation.
  • Added a visual indicator to show which way propellers will push.
  • Added the gap check from the rectangular sheets to the triangular and circular sheets.
  • Added a visual indication of the magnetic field of each magnet when selected using selection tool.
  • Decreased loading time significantly.
  • You can now scale decouplers.
  • Sandbox mode now allows you to:
    • Quit without saving (no more Alt-F4!)
    • Save without quitting
  • Rebalanced some missions:
    • Added magnets to certain missions
    • Bombs removed from pangolin mission
    • Command Chairs added to relevant missions
    • Removed vertical speed from water speed record mission
  • Added some easter eggs for some of our master enjenirs 👀
Bug Fixes 🐞
• Fixed the bug relating to propellers not reversing when you don't manually control them.
  • Fixed the propellers randomly losing power.
  • Fixed bug where you would place an item while clicking on the menus
Physics Building Games Bundle 🛠️
• We've also recently bundled up with the awesome engineering game GearBlocks in our super imaginatively named "Physics Building Games" bundle!
  • For anyone that already owns The Enjenir, you can get a 10% discount off GearBlocks (and vice-versa!) so we recommend checking out GearBlocks from our friends over at SmashHammer Games if you're into physics building engineering games!

Thanks again to everyone for playing The Enjenir and reading this, remember to leave a Steam review if you are enjoying all these changes - every positive review helps us massively - algorithmically, mentally , emotionally and probably spiritually! 😂

Many thanks,

Cillin and Neil 🚀
