SUPER CRAZY RHYTHM CASTLE – UPDATE ANNOUNCEMENT

Thank you to everyone who’s been playing! We’ve heard your feedback about some levels being too tough, and we’ve made a few adjustments to address the worst offenders.

Here are the highlights:

  • Act 1B: Nectar (Nectar Recipe Level)

This was far too difficult, requiring near perfection to complete.

Changes: Vine minims will no longer spawn at all, and all recipes require fewer ingredients, particularly when playing with more than one player. This should make it more reasonable to complete this level and move to the next part of the game.

  • Act 1: Flavour (Meat Recipe Level)

This was one of the hardest levels to get 3 stars, despite being fairly early in the game.

Changes: Recipes in the latter half of the level now require fewer ingredients, making 2 or 3 stars easier to achieve.

  • Central Mainframe Level

This level was particularly punishing for teams, with rhythm mistakes causing lots of security alerts.
Changes: Rhythm mistakes will now contribute much less to causing alerts in higher player counts.

  • The Thief Prince Level (Prision Tower)

The spicy combo challenges stood out as tricky to complete, especially in multiplayer.

Changes: Maintain spicy combo challenges now have lower score requirement, particularly for higher player counts.

We have also made some minor changes:
  • School Trip Level: Fixed a bug where vines would stop player exploding the toilet statue even after being cleared.
  • Cold Storage Level: Added arrow highlights to the Thief Prince the first time you need to lead him to a lock.
  • Music Lab: Removed camera bobbing.
  • Castle Lobby: Fixed a bug where sometimes earning the Bean Trumpet did not save.
  • Fixed a bug that sometimes caused the game to start with no players
  • Fixed a bug that prevented joining an online game when accepting an invite without the game open

Thanks for playing!

SUPER CRAZY RHYTHM CASTLE - Next Fest Demo

Hello!

Rob here, one of the creators of Super Crazy Rhythm Castle.

It's been amazing to see reactions and feedback from everyone after playing our demo during Steam Next Fest. Thank you all for giving our game a shot. We've also been able to watch a bunch of streamers really enjoying the game too, which is very useful for us to know how people play and what they liked.

Based on what we've seen, I wanted to share a few things with everyone:

1. We recommend controller!

We included keyboard support in Super Crazy Rhythm Castle for those who don't have access to a game pad, but this means that when you fire the game up without trying a pad, it'll flow along showing keyboard icons and some people assume that's the main way to play. (Our bad!)

We strongly believe that game pad is the way to play! Some have questioned our choice of button layout, but please give it a good go before dismissing it. Yes you can rebind it on PC, and yes you can use keyboard, but please try it first, I promise it works really well.

2. Jingle is the favourite!

B. Box will always be my dude, but Jingle the magpie has been overwhelmingly the favourite character to play as. Everyone loves our little birb and the cute way they hold a controller in their beak!

3. You can bark!

Not many people noticed, because the game doesn't explain it, but you can click the right stick to make a bark sound, which is different for every character! Especially useful in multiplayer, or to flex when you're nailing the rhythm.

4. Speaking of barking...

Hand Dog really divided the world, with some finding him cute, and others recoiling in disgust as he contorts his fingers between running and playing music. Some even said he's creepy! Poor little guy... he ain't nothin' but a Hand Dog!

5. Keep playing!

We're going to leave the demo live for a while longer, so more people can get a taste of Super Crazy Rhythm Castle. Tell your friends, and stay tuned for more as we approach release on 14th November!
