Campaign Modifier Beta Patch Annoucment

[p]Today we are preparing the Campaign Modifier update we talked about last week. Thanks a ton everyone who gave suggestions. There where many more we wanted to add, but we ran out of time. As a reminder the goal of today's patch is two fold.[/p]
  1. [p]Create more exciting ways to spice up future runs,[/p]
  2. [p]Allow you to remove or tweak elements of the game you'd rather play without,[/p]
[p]Because stability is an ongoing priority, and since many of these modifiers drastically change the game we have decided to release them on an open beta branch. This allows us to test them out a bit before we commit them to live for everyone.

If you would like to help us test the new modifiers early, navigate to Dice Gambit on steam, then right click -> Propertes -> Betas -> and select openbeta in the Beta Participation drop down. Friendly reminder, IF you decide to create new safe files on the beta branch, do not try to load these on the regular branch. Chances are things will break. [/p][p]

If you decide to play test and encounter a bug please join our community Discord and report the bugs, alternatively you can use the steam discussion forums, but it is harder for us to keep taps on them there.

  • [p]Long Inquisition increases all campaign deadline by 2 weeks. Can be added up to 5 times.,[/p]
  • [p]Rabid Deadline decreased all campaign deadlines by 1 week. Can be added up to 3 times.,[/p]
[p]note these campaign deadline modifiers, should not have a big impact on the games difficulty, as all mission levels are based on their respective campaign week. [/p][h3][/h3][h3]Game Changer Category Additions[/h3]
  • [p]Added Hacker Lineage: "Swaps all your characters Basic Attack and Basic Defend for Protocol: Attack & Protocol: Defend respectively.,[/p]
  • [p]Added Circus Performers: "Swap all your characters Basic Attack for Throwing Dagger.,[/p]
  • [p]Added Political Commentators: "Swap all your characters Basic Attack for Straw Man.,[/p]
  • [p]Added Leg Day Trainers: "Swap all your characters Basic Attack for Kick.,[/p]
  • [p]Added Micro Managers: "Swap all your characters Basic Movement for Direct.,[/p]

[h3]Combat Easier[/h3]
  • [p]Undying: Whenever a character would be killed, they are instead returned to the estate with 1hp.,[/p]
  • [p]Stone Armor Players and allies armor now block 100% of incoming damage instead of 80%,[/p][p][/p]
[h3]Combat Harder[/h3]
  • [p]Chromatic Strength max stacks increased from 5 -> 10,[/p]
  • [p]In Media Res all enemies appear on expeditions from Act 1. (Portal Heralds a still locked by act),[/p]
  • [p]Paper Armor Players and allies armor now block 20% of incoming damage instead of 80%,[/p][p][/p]
[h3]Management Easier[/h3]
  • [p]Debt Free: You family has no debt and can keep gold between expeditions.,[/p]
  • [p]Good Form: Reduce all stamina lost after missions by 25% (Can be picked 3 times),[/p][p][/p]
[h3]Management Harder[/h3]
  • [p]Bad Form: Increase all stamina lost after mission by 25% (Can be picked up to 10 times),[/p]
  • [p]Gone but not forgotten: Dead and Retired characters still take up family capacity.,[/p][p][/p]
[p]Many have suggested the ability to change modifiers mid run, and while we think this is an exceptional idea, unfortunately we did not have time to do it this time around. Sorry![/p][p][/p][h2]Studio Notice and Future Plans[/h2][h3]Studio Vacation[/h3][p]Now that the launch rush is behind us, the team will be winding down and going on vacation soon. Next week most of the team will already be gone, so only expect minor bug fixes and the eventual shipping of the full modifier patch once we deem it stable. After that the team will take some time off for approximately 1 month. We may still decide to fix some critical bugs, but don't expect anything really.

As you can imagine, the Dice Gambit launch and the last many months where quite rough, so we long for a bit of a distance away from game development. [/p][p][/p][h3]Future Plans[/h3][p]Once we are back we will be taking stock of the situation and where we are at. I think it is unlikely that we are completely done with Dice Gambit, but I also won't promise you the world. There is a none zero chance that we have to move towards game 2 in a fairly short order. Time will tell, expect more updates when we a back in action!

  • Fix Blade barrage being able to hit self if you have knife pass
  • Fix Fierce attribute giving too little damage

  • [p]Anchor base hp reduced from 28 -> 20.,[/p]
  • [p]Anchor break damage reduced from 16 -> 13.,[/p]
  • [p]Anchor "faction" changed from Chromatic to Destructible Neutral. This means that enemy AOE's will also destroy the Anchor and they will not be counted as required enemies to kill for the purpose of Elimination & Kill race.,[/p]

  • [p]Evasive Assault, dash range increased from 3 -> 4.,[/p]
