The Wratch's Den News

Hi everyone!

Thanks for the love on The Wratch's Den! This has been the better performing game out of all the Steam releases we've been putting out these last few weeks, thanks for that! (in case you missed it, we're in the middle of releasing all our back catalog here on Steam!)

If you're enjoying the game, please remember that a positive review goes a long way in making it visible to more potential players. It doesn't even have to be a long review, just a few words already helps!

Anyway, in the middle of the Steam releases and the Shotgun King console release, and also a brand new game release over on Itch io, we somehow managed to fix the few issues that were reported for The Wratch's Den! Hopefully this patch properly fixes them all!

Here's the full changelog:

• Blood Moon tech now properly affects all new units after it's researched.
  
• Goblins can now only carry up to 16 tiles.
  
• Schooled goblins now keep the gold they were holding.
  
• Schooled orcs and goblins now keep their smithy upgrades.
  
• Fixed a bug where an orc would become a goblin on schooling.
  
• Room options now always appear above other objects.
  
• Game no longer crashes if trying to use an item on the workbench if the trap room is filled with items.
  
• Dark ritual achievement fixed so as to properly trigger only when 5 minions have been sacrificed. (also fixed the achievement description)
  

We also updated the demo with these fixes.

It's been a while since we made available the demo for this one! We've been very busy juggling various other games and tasks, but here it is at last, the full The Wratch's Den experience now available on Steam!

We're actually releasing all our games on Steam, one every week, and we have quite a few. The Wratch's Den was the third game we made as PUNKCAKE Délicieux and it remains one of our favorites of the bunch!

If you get it and play it (please do!) and of you enjoy it, please remember that positive reviews on the game really help us, and that they can just be one sentence or a few words since what really helps the game shine is the review score. But of course if you're in a tale-telling mood please do tell us about something that happened in your game and that you enjoyed, we love to read that stuff!

And if you ever want to chat about the game (or our other games) with other player, you should join our Discord! It's a great place to come to know us more as well since we, the devs, are also on there chatting with the community!

Hi all!

We're really happy to say we're finally going to actually release The Wratch's Den on Steam!

Build your dungeon and defend it from heroes come to slay the Wratch: dig out gold, hire monsters, buy traps and expand your lair with unique rooms, and survive long enough to find the 3 orbs of infinite power for The Wratch to restore their dominion!

We created the Steam page for this game ages ago but never got around to really announce it properly and release the game. But here we are! We're bringing achievements and Steam cloud support, and we even made a demo which you can play now from the The Wratch's Den store page!

The Wratch's Den was our third game as PUNKCAKE Délicieux, released on Itch.io on August 2021, and it was our first taste of getting even a small measure of success. A few Youtubers and Streamers had covered it and they loved it. Players bought it and loved it as well. It was the first time one of our games had paid for its own development. Of course, we released Shotgun King since then, and that has been a very different scale of success, but still we keep fond memories of The Wratch's Den's Itch release nonetheless!

All this to say we really hope the trend will continue on here and that you will enjoy it too!
