🎬 New Build 29: Set the Reel in Motion

🎬 Welcome to Build 29

This patch brings a refreshed UI, a redesigned film reel, and new tutorials to help players get started faster. Plus, a few genre-themed music tracks to round things out.

Card Overhaul: Clearer distinction between card types (Tropes, Crew, Leads, Characters) and genres. Bigger visuals for easier stat reading, plus updated rarity visuals and genre icons.



Unit Updates: Enhanced unit frames and a sleeker narrative meter for leads.



[h2]Brand-New Film Reel[/h2]



  • Completely redesigned film reel with new UI, functionality, and animations; now styled like a movie editor’s timeline.
  • Actions are clearly color-coded for player vs opponent, with improved clarity on action order and cancellations.
  • New Preview Feature: Hover over a reel frame to preview the action or card before it's played.

Refreshed visuals for lead buttons, director avatar, and emote icon.

  • 3 short crash course tutorials introducing core mechanics step by step.
  • Tutorial 1 covers lead characters and win conditions.
  • Tutorials 2 and 3 introduce the attack-dodge-perform mechanics and new film reel system.
  • Each tutorial is themed around a movie genre.
  • Includes movie-poster-style buttons and a poster display before each match.

New music tracks added for Mystery, Comedy, and Drama genres.

✅ We’ve also fixed a pesky issue with guide achievements; they should now track and unlock properly. Thanks Frostt for the report.

Hello, Film Directors!

We've rolled out a small update for you. Now, completing the tutorial will smoothly transition you into deckbuilding and crafting. After that, it's your choice to dive into the Cinematic Debut or jump straight into matchmaking; whatever suits your directorial debut!

You'll also notice some subtle UI enhancements aimed at improving your experience.

Hey Film Directors!

Here is another little patch while we're busy with a big update. This time it has something to offer to ScreenPlay pro-players with the ability to choose which flank to cast your card. Get ready for the Build 28.19!

- New more intuitive trigger system;

- Option to exclude bots in ladder.

We’ve released a small patch before the new year with a few updates and fixes:

Improved Bots: Bots now come with a variety of decks, adding more diversity and challenge when playing against them.
Starter Set Availability: The Starter Set is now a one-time purchase with no time limit.
Connection Error Logs: Added logging for connection errors to help prevent endless loading issues in the future.
Hotfixes: Addressed few issues reported by players.
