🏹 Hunting tactics - what to do to get your next meal?
Howdy, Chiefs and Chieftainesses!
As per our latest update and the beautiful road of the last 6 months, our dev team is busy tweaking and bettering the second era of the game. Centred all around farming, cultivating the land and having animals of your very own to look after – oh yes, that chicken coop will definitely come in handy!

In the meantime, for all those getting into the game and those doing migration, let’s have a look at what made up the palaeolithic diet the way it was. Not just gathering but when the Gods aligned their divine wills: hunting!

🏹 Hunting tactics 🏹
🤫 Stalking
This tactic is all about silently following your prey and remaining in the shadows before the perfect moment to strike happens. Best to use against slow-moving animals and definitely worthwhile to lock your target once you have to burst from your crouched position.
⚔️ Pushing, flushing and driving
Best to implement as a group tactic with your fellow tribe people as it relies on moving the target or herd towards a predestined location, hopefully one that enables you to deal with the prey immediately. That includes driving animals towards cliffs, awaiting tribe members at the ready with their weapons, or using the terrains to your advantage, whether valleys or open grassy areas that make aiming your javelins easier and more reliable.
🎯 Stand or blind hunting
One of the tactics that persevered over the ages, relying on stillness and tricking animals into thinking you are a natural part of their environment because of the lack of movement, camouflage, and more! A lot of today’s hunters rely on this method and the booths are iconic parts of the landscape on the outskirts of forests.
🍓 Baiting
Using meat, berries or any other delicacies in order to lure animals. In our game, it’s possible to use this technique in order to domesticate a friendly and loyal friend to aid your hunts – check out our future updates for further details!
🏃 Persistence, exhaustion or long distance hunting
The old and tried method of tiring down animals and relying that just because we can hardly catch our breath and our stamina runs low, theirs will deplete over time as well! It is speculated that this particular method allowed our ancestors to survive and evolve over time to build the advantage over our prey.

You may be pleasantly surprised that our ancestors used the terrains just as much to their advantage as you, players of the game, can do! Some of the strategies survive throughout the eons and hundreds of years, having evolved into the style known by modern hunters across America, Europe, and beyond.
Polylithic - 6 Months after Release
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Half a year has passed since our game was released in Early Access, and as you might have noticed, we have been pretty busy improving and expanding it based on your suggestions and following our timeline.

Without going into the details, we released over 30 updates since the release.
Fixing a lot of things while adding new content and features. You can always read the release notes in the game menu or our Discord for more information. The most significant updates were:
Sandbox Mode
We added a new Sandbox Mode with an automatically generated map and content, so now you can experience prehistoric ages with infinite fun without all those story quests. On top of it, there is a Creative mode where you can try all the new stuff we are adding to a game.
2nd Era
We also started working on the 2nd era. We added a custom modular system for buildings and enclosures for animals with physics and cool interactions, along with some interior pieces like shelves, chairs, tables, decorations, and more. We are still working on taming, breeding, and farming mechanics that should arrive soon.
Quests
New fascinating questlines with quirky new characters expanding our multiverse arrived in the campaign. Did I say you can now tame a prehistoric wolf and use it as a companion or help to build the first bicycle?
Some other big thighs were:
• Multiple language support
 • Improve the fight mechanics and weapons
 • Multiple graphical controls and game settings
 • Graphical optimization
 • New character and animal models
 • New VFX and interactions
 • UI elements
 • Robust autosave and save mechanics
 • And some easter eggs, for sure!
Future
As for the near future, we are planning to add a new campaign for the 2nd era with an interesting new set of characters and a detective story that will teach you new farming mechanics. We also started preparing new biomes and seasons for you to explore. Yeah, and mushrooms. We will have to do something about those mushrooms everywhere. But dont worry, we have some ideas for that as well.

Did you miss something? Please let us know in our Discord or Steam community.
If you enjoy the game so far, we appreciate your honest review. If not, write to us, and we will do our best to help you or improve your struggles. As you know, we are a tiny group of friends trying to make their first big game, and we would appreciate your help spreading kind words and giving us feedback.
