Greetings, Crewmates!

Back in February, we revealed a new map is coming to Among Us VR later this year. We also tasked you to help us make 📜📜 Crewmate History 📜📜 by voting as a community for the name of said map 🔎. Well, you voted and the results are in. 🧮

The official name for Among Us VR's new Polus-inspired map has been decided, and we’re excited to reveal it to the universe (and our fans)!

But first, let’s talk about how busy you’ve been, honestly. Around 14,000 of you voted for your map name choice, and over 80% of you provided extremely helpful insights about your experience and desires for the game going forward — thank you, beans!.

A number of you have also been participating in our Open Beta, getting a sneak peek at our upcoming patch and some new go-to fashion (such as the beloved Horse Hat). On top of this, you’ve also been doing the work, ejecting Impostors — and the unfortunate Crewmates 👀💦 — regularly.

So, not only do we send a huge note of thanks, but we want to formally invite you (oh, we know) to kick up your little bean feet and enjoy the chilly heat — snow + lava + map name reveal? Yes please! (Just go with it, beans. It’s self-care).

Patch 4 Time! Get ready to update your spacesuits and embrace an upgraded Skeld II — some in-game changes have arrived. Our finest Crewmates have installed a new mode to your lobbies — the power of customization! That’s right: Custom Lobby Settings, the thing you’ve all been asking for, is now at your fingertips (or is it bean-gertips?)!

Over 9 billion customization configurations are being added to Among Us VR with this upcoming feature. We’re not even joking. One of our devs did the math. By hand. Using an abacus. Our team is truly dedicated. 😭😭😭

These settings will allow the host of a lobby to adjust the pace, balance, and general rules of how a match plays out! Want to favor the Crewmates? Go ahead! Think Impostors deserve an edge? We’re a bit skeptical… but do you, my friend. ⚖️ We’ve even added a little indicator to give you a bit of insight on just how much you might be skewing the default game balance. ⚖️This balance indicator shows how your personal settings compare to the default ones, but your mileage may vary — ie, we’re not perfect, so don’t be upset if it deceives you a little bit. 🤐

Crewmates with experience in the original Among Us will recognize many of the familiar Custom Lobby Settings, but we’ve thrown in some fun new exclusive-to-VR treats as well. For instance, you can enable “Hands Visible” at all times so that faking a task requires Impostors to not only stand near the proper station, but mime doing the task as well. It’s straight devious.

Innersloth, Schell Games, and Robot Teddy are teasing a new map inspired by Polus, a map in the original Among Us game.

Please note: Voting begins February 7, 2023 and will remain open for approximately one month. The studio will use the highest-voted name for the new map in-game and will announce the winner publicly. All of these Lobby Customization Settings and a handful of additional bug fixes will come to the game in our upcoming Patch 4 update. Which isn’t today, but coming soon. So, stay tuned.

We’re beyond thrilled to announce that Among Us VR has officially reached over 1 million units sold — and less than ten weeks after launch! So many of you amazing little beans running around the Skeld II, I can’t even count to one million! What the heck?!

But this isn’t the only milestone you’ve reached as a Crewmate Community!
Since Among Us VR launched on November 10, 2022:
🎰 The game has been played more than 4 million times
🌞 On average, 44,000 matches are held per day
⏱ More than 89,100,000 minutes have been dedicated to tasks, sabotages, and betrayal
🌎 Crewmates are joining the Skeld II from across the globe, representing 122 different countries

All of this couldn’t have been possible without all of you. And, we’re so grateful for all of the support that you’ve shown for making this game and its community the best one ever — just like the original Among Us.
