Among Us 3D: VR News

It's hard to believe that Steam Next Fest was several weeks ago! Just think, earlier last month, you didn't even know that Among Us 3D was a thing! Time is crazy. 😵

Anyway, now that it has been a week since our Steam Next Fest Demo officially ended, we thought we'd share a few interesting tidbits of insight 📈 we gathered from your play.


We'll start with the obvious. Surprising no one, the most popular bean during the Demo period was the Red bean wearing the beloved Fedorable hat. You beans are nothing if not a tad predictable. 😅

That said, it's important to note that Gloves, Skins, and premium Hats (meaning the ones you pay for) were not included in the Among Us 3D Demo. 🔒 We'll be shocked if Fedorable ever ranks anywhere that isn't First... But, you haven't seen all of the awesome new cosmetics that are coming to the game yet! 😎 So, it's nothing is impossible!


While the first place popularity style stayed unchanging, we did see a bit of a shake up within the Top Ten overall — both for Hats and Colors!

Several hats moved a rank or two, which has happened previously. However, probably the most notable difference here is the appearance of Heart — which jumped eight ranks from 16th up to 8th! ⬆️ This is the first time Heart has been featured in the Top Ten, likely since the launch of Among Us VR, so this feels pretty huge for cutesy aesthetic beans. 💗 We see you! 🥺

Several other hats saw significant leaps in their popularity as well, albeit not enough to land in the Top Ten. Still, we think rising 13 places — from 31st to 18th — is certainly worthy of a callout for Funky Fusion! 🤟


The future holds even more of these bean-y insights when Among Us 3D launches on — 🤭 just kidding! We're not spilling the beans on a release date just yet. Soon, my beans. Soon.™️

What's that?! Among Us 3D?! Could it be?!

You read that right, my beans. Among Us is going three dimensional... again. 🎉 But this time: no VR headset required! We're beyond excited to reveal a brand new teaser trailer for the upcoming installment of the Among Us universe: Among Us 3D!

This crossplay experience brings the first-person aesthetic introduced in Among Us VR to Steam PC players. Yap with your crew directly in-game with native proximity voice chat. 🗣️ Experience the tasks you know and love, along with some new ones, with intuitive first-person controls. ⌨️ Customize your bean with an ever-growing and endless number of cosmetic combinations. 🎀

And before you ask... No, sorry. The game won't be crossplay compatible with the original Among Us. ❌


But it doesn't stop there — Among Us 3D will bring new updates and changes alongside it.

Returning fan-favorite tasks 💳, an abundance of fresh styles and cosmetics for your beans 💅, shiny new Stardust for easier wardrobe expansion 🌟, even more Limited Time Events to shake up gameplay 🎲, and a brand-new game mode tagging alongside the launch 🤐... We'll be sharing more details on what all this means and looks like very soon™️ — just know, you have a lot to look forward to in 2025!

Additionally, over the coming months, Among Us VR will be rebranded to Among Us 3D, putting its full crossplay support between VR and PC players front and center. In other words, VR Crewmates: don't panic when you see a new logo and name on the game's artwork and title screen! It's purposeful, we promise! 😅



Want an early feel of Among Us 3D? 🌠 You're in luck — A limited demo of the game will be available as part of 🎮 Steam Next Fest 🎮. This preview version will not include all features or game modes that will be available at launch, such as crossplay compatibility with Among Us VR or additional cosmetics, and is only available to players 16 and older. It will be available throughout the duration of Steam Next Fest, from February 24 through March 3, 2025.


The future of Among Us could not be more exciting (this is your segue to go check out the roadmap for the original game! 👀) — and we're so excited we haven't been ejected yet.

New year, new beans, blah blah blah. We've heard all the New Year's Resolution stuff before — and we'll get to announcing our goals and plans for 2025 soon™️. For now, though, we wanted to reflect back on the chaotic charm of last year. 🎊

[h2]⌛ A Year of Limited Time Events 📆[/h2]

2024 introduced Limited Time Events into the Among Us VR pipeline, and we're proud to have hosted six unique events throughout the past twelve months. From deception in the dark with 💡 Lights Out ⚡ to wrangling up Impostors as the Deputy in our latest (and currently still running!) 🤠 Round Up 🏜️, we've shaken up the Among Us VR experience to keep things exciting and fresh — and continue to do so in the future!

[h2]💗 We Know About Popular ✨[/h2]

It wouldn't be a Recap blog without diving into our favorite metrics! 🤓 Here's a handful of highlights:

• The most popular bean color, as always, was Red. ❤️ Surprising no one. However, second place fluctuated throughout the year between 💙 Blue and Grey 🖤.
  
• 🤎 Brown continues to remain as the least used bean color. #JusticeForBrown 😭
  
• Impostors killed ☠️ over 6 MILLION Crewmates ☠️ over the course of the year, with 6.5% of those beans surviving less than 30 seconds. ⏱️
  
• Most matches experience either 1 - 2 or 7 -8 kills. ⚖️ The least common kill count during a match is four.

Isn't it wild to think that this time last year, Gloves and Skins weren't available in your Wardrobe? Cosmetic options to fully express and customize your Beansona have grown significantly since last year, and we're always excited to see which looks are your favorites.

[h3]🎩 Hats 👒[/h3]

• Of course, the most popular hat for beans continues to be the Fedorable.
  
• Lights Out mode introduced the first fully animated hat, Overscoped, in February 2024. This hat ranked in at the second most popular Limited Time Event exclusive hat of the year.
  
• So, which event-exclusive hat was the most popular? The Vigilante Hood beat, slammed, and served over the competition as the most popular Limited Time Event focused headpiece.
  
• On the opposite side of popularity, the Powdered Person vampire wig from the Limited Time Pack: Trick Picks was the least popular hat of the Wardrobe. Whomp whomp.

[h3]🧤 Gloves 🥊[/h3]

• Gloves debuted in June 2024 as part of the Limited Time Pack: DUM Duo and Glove Pack: Catch Deez Hands sets.
  
• The Git Gud Gloves quickly rose to the top of hand cosmetics and has stayed there since. It's noteworthy to clarify that the d-pad and buttons don't actually allow the input of codes or cheats... but that would be pretty sick.
  
• Lowest on the list, again from the Limited Time Pack: Trick Picks, sits the Undead Ends vampire gloves. We're honestly surprised at how much you beans seem to not like vampires. They don't even sparkle! Come on!

[h3]👔 Skins 🥼[/h3]

• Newest to the roster of Wardrobe features, Skins made their entrance just last month in December!
  
• The I'll Fix It coveralls from the Skin Pack: Dressed to Kill set came in as the least popular outfit, but we expect to see your favorites shift and shuffle as more options become available.
  
• Currently, the Howdy Duty Deputy Skin — from the Limited Time Pack: Round Up set — reigns as couture champion.

[h2]🐴 Giddying Up for 2025 🎉[/h2]

Now that we've ejected 2024 and charged into 2025... the possibilities are endless.

In the meantime, you can yeehaw as the Deputy and wrangle up some trouble while our Limited Time Event: Round Up continues until January 28, 2025.

A brand-new Role joins the fray — Enter the Deputy.

This Emergency Meeting ain’t big enough for all y’all beans. Instead, one random Crewmate (or Impostor?!) will be granted the role of 🌟 Deputy 🌟 during each Emergency Meeting. They’ll have the sole responsibility of wranglin’ up a bean for ejection. Whomever they choose gets the boot — if they can catch ‘em first! Failure to capture their target results in a self ejection. 😱
