Dear earthlings,

The public beta play-test is currently not available anymore. I think it does not represent the game enough in its current state. I even think it drives players away from the game. The current state of the game is much more evolved and steady, fewer glitches and bugs, new content and overall more user-friendly. I think it lost its purpose. That is the reason I decided to put it offline. You guys really helped me out with this version, though. Thanks for your input. I was able to make the game far better.

Fear not, it does not mean I stop doing a play-test. In fact, a new play-test version will be available soon when that build version is finished. I am currently wrapping up all the new training courses. After that, I still have some small game breaking bugs that need to be fixed before launching the new play-test version. I am sure you will like this version much more that the previous one.

My plan at this moment is to launch this new play-test version as soon as possible, accompanied by a brand new updated trailer. The other plan that I have is that I want to feature the game during the next Steam Next Fest in October. Hoping this will push the game into a more public eye. I still need your help updating and upgrading the new play-test version. Making the demo Next Fest build as stable and fun as possible! We are going to do this! Thanks for everything!

Dear earthlings,

It's been quite some time when I did a dev log, so I figured I do a fast one, keeping you to date. The game is doing great. I have been very busy with it. Overhauling the entire HUD/GUI is a very time-consuming process, but a necessary one. I'm not done with that, yet. The new and expanded training courses are almost ready! I just need to redesign the shooting range and everything is done. Basically, the play-test version online right now isn't really a good representation of the current progress anymore. The new character creation is completely done, and I'm very happy with the results. See how satisfying Derek looks.


On a more personal note. Currently, in a very stressful period in my life. Me, my wife and our 6-month-old daughter are going to move to another house. We are finally going to live a lot closer to our families. The thing is, we have to move within 7 days. The new home is bare bone and doesn't even have a proper floor in it. So you could imagine how much time and headspace that takes up. It also means I'll be off the grid until April 6th, because we won't have internet access until then. I'm still working on the game in my free time. So, don't worry if I don't post as much as normal. I'm not dead, and the game certainly isn't either. ;)

Dear Earthlings,

After all the UI elements are compatible for all screen resolutions, I will work on and expand the RPG elements of the game. I already have implemented the elements into the main menu and character creation menu. Not only can you change your hair color, you can also add a variety of cosmetics to your character.

The dialogue system will be greatly improved too. You will be able to converse in dialogue trees. NPC's will react based on the conversation you have with them. They will also show you what emotion they are feeling. Their faces, and yours, will be animated. I am thinking about uploading a tech video about this feature on YouTube when it is done.

 I am just not sure whether I will update everything at once, or make two separate updates. One for the UI elements, and one for the RPG elements.

Dear Earthlings,

The playtest is going according to plan, and I am a happy man.
I have received many emails and bug reports. I am very much aware that the game is pretty raw around its edges and many save files were corrupted during the testing, but the game is getting better and better! I want to thank everyone participating during this important development phase!

I'm currently working on a pretty large update. As some of you may already know, I am redesigning all the UI elements. This way, the game will be compatible for all display resolutions, since I've heard some of you had problems regarding UI elements not being readable etc. Redesigning all the UI elements and recalibrating them is a very time-consuming process, so I won't update until I'm finished with that. Here is the redesigned main menu with this new style:

  • Research task "TRAVEL IN POD" now works.
  • Made the walls more distinguishable.
  • Added sounds when using inventory item.
  • Made background white noise stop while leaving station.
  • Fixed inventory problem while in POD.
