Noirvember Q&A (Developer Responses)

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Hello, this is AJ, the designer and developer behind FFN EVE.

Did you have a fun Halloween? I hope you enjoyed it.

Thank you very much for your continued interest in the game. In this Q&A session, I'll answer questions sent by email and others gathered from external platforms and the Steam Community.

Rose's eye color seems too desaturated, which gives off a scary vibe. Was this intentional?

No, that was my mistake. Originally, a higher-saturation version existed, but I ended up using a desaturated one. At the time, it was the end of the year, and I may have been drinking a lot during the holiday celebrations, like Rose was. If I had noticed right after release, I would have corrected it quickly. But now, adjusting her eye color would take a lot of time, given how many animations feature Rose. Instead, we'll reflect this aspect in Rose's backstory. (Apologies to her.)

When will the finale update be released?

We're aiming for three to five years at the latest and two years at the earliest. The complete storyline has already been written. (We're prioritizing steady updates to FFN: EVE while also preparing the next project and a re-release of Flaming Friday Night.)

When will Pandu become a playable character?

Soon. Pandu will be playable by the end of the year or around New Year's. However, some combat experiences, such as crocodile hunting and the Mr. Brandon Raid, will be available later. We are planning unique experiences for Pandu, distinct from Rose's journey. Additionally, Rose and Pandu will have many conversations about each other.

Is this game entirely roguelike?

Not exactly, though it includes some roguelike elements. Certain objects respawn at random locations, and you can play in permadeath mode if you prefer. There aren't any other roguelike elements, other than these. (TMI: I thought about having enemies drop weapons with random reinforcement levels, but I ended up discarding the idea. Other important updates are still in the works and awaiting release.) We're designing FFN: EVE with a focus on action, character development, and story progression, rather than aiming for a roguelike experience.

Are the state and city names meant to represent actual locations, or are they fictional?

They represent real states and cities. You can consider the FFN universe to be a parallel world.

Seasprinkle = Seattle
Lumainaho = Idaho
NEC = NYC
Las Melodias = Las Vegas
Flostarida = Florida

Are there plans to support other languages?

Of course, we'd like to support other languages. However, adding even one more language requires a lot of effort and time (thanks to Yume for translating Japanese). It seems difficult to support other languages until the finale update is completed.

What do you usually smoke? (Frequently Asked Question)

Nothing. Sometimes, I enjoy a can of Asahi draft beer. When the weather is nice, I like to go running. Every evening, I take a warm shower, and afterward, I enjoy warm water and chocolate.

Thank you for your continued interest and support. We'll be right back.

Best regards,
FFN Team
