Frozen October News (Security Patch for Unity CVE-2025-59489)

[p][/p][p][/p][p]Hello, this is AJ, the designer and developer behind FFN: EVE.[/p][p][/p][p]Steamworks notified all developers about a critical Unity security issue. For player safety, we have released a hotfix that addresses CVE-2025-59489. We have verified that the update works well, but if you run into launch issues or anything unusual, please let us know.[/p][p][/p][p]I'm not fully back to development yet, but I am happy to talk with you and share some news.[/p][p][/p][p]0. The major issue in my region is not resolved yet. The good news is that part of it may be fixed soon, which could let me return. Our dear friend in D.C. also shared important information that the “final boss” issue might be addressed soon, although the timing is uncertain. What we can say is that a major global event this month could be an important turning point.[/p][p][/p][p]1. We ran into an unexpected “secret boss.” Two major credit card companies are pressuring small indie developers with stricter content rules. While the FFN universe is not a porn franchise and does not contain explicit sexual content, they may still restrict other R-18 elements, including violence and gore. Even if the regional issue improves, new updates for Frozen Friday Night: The Eve may arrive later than expected. Still, let's not worry too much. Senator Kevin Cramer has introduced legislation (including the Fair Access to Banking Act) aimed at preventing financial institutions from denying services to lawful businesses; contacting lawmakers could make a difference.[/p][p][/p][p]2. Until the policy situation improves, we may spend more time on new projects with fewer R-18 elements rather than Frozen Friday Night: The Eve and Flaming Friday Night. These new projects are still FFN canon. We may introduce them soon.[/p][p][/p][p]3. I'm still unwell, but I am focused on recovery and hopeful for better days.[/p][p][/p][p]4. The Unity security hotfix has been released for Frozen Friday Night: The Eve and The Way Home. Flaming Friday Night will receive the fix later with its remake build.[/p][p][/p][p]5. During this unexpectedly long break, I have been writing a lot of dialogue and story across the FFN universe, including the remaining story for FFN: The Eve, Flaming Friday Night, and more, to prepare for resuming work.
[/p][p]I sincerely hope we can all return to greater freedom of expression around the world soon. Wishing you good health and happiness.[/p][p][/p][p]Warm regards,[/p][p]AJ[/p]
