Let’s customize a truck with Bartek!
Were you wondering what we’re currently working on? We’re adding more variety to food truck customization! We asked Bartek, our designer, to show us exactly how it works and explain the whole process. Bartek, the floor is yours!
Meet Bartek!
Hi there!
Your fleet is the most essential part of a food truck empire so naturally, we wanted the player to make it their own. In order to achieve this, we created (well we’re actually in the process of) a series of tools to customize every aspect of a food truck's looks.
At the moment it looks like this:

It’s still very much a work in progress but as you saw you can already personalize most aspects of your truck, mixing body types, headlights, bumpers, mirrors, and wheels - there’s a lot of stuff and we’re constantly adding more.
Aside from just mixing and matching different aspects of your mobile food base, you can of course paint it, and oh boy... do we have options for you guys!
If you don’t feel you’re inner Picasso that much (or don’t plan to spend 5 hours choosing the perfect shade of pink for your food truck’s rear bumper), you can pick from a bunch of preset color schemes.
If however, you are feeling extra creative (and have no plans for the weekend) you can paint every element of your food truck, with a full-color palette at your disposal (if you make a color scheme you’re particularly fond of there’s an option to save it). Still not enough? How about a full manual paint mode? Take your brush, pick a color and go for it, any shape - anywhere, oh and don’t worry we added an eraser brush.
Another tool we added is the option to apply different decals, from full body ones to custom icons and art. You can of course change their color, size, rotation, and place them anywhere you like.
With all these customization options and tools that we hope will let your creativity go wild, we also wanted to add an option for players to share their work, so of course, we’re integrating Food Truck Empire with Steam Workshop to allow you to upload your designs and try out (in-game) food trucks created by the community.
We’re so excited to see what you can come up with. But we have to ask you for patience while we’re making it all nice and polished. Meanwhile, wishlist the game and stay tuned!
