Features Buffet vol. 7 - Food Parks Empire 🤠🚚
Top of the morning, Emperors! 🫡
You know what’s one feature that we keep showcasing in the screenshots but haven’t talked in depth yet? If you have guessed Head Quarters… then not yet.
For now, let’s tackle the Food Parks and what makes them an invaluable resource for building your Food Truck Empire!
Food Parks, or Food Courts if you are fancy, are essentially a place for more than one food truck to serve customers. People come to you and your food trucks rather than the other way around. That makes it simpler to bring stable profit without having to worry about route optimization. Each Food Park has their range (which can be upgraded with level-ups), which covers some area around the park itself, so people from nearby streets will know where to go to when hungry. 🍽️

Food Parks also can be leveled up to bring even more profits to your empire! Once you complete a particular task on one food park, it will upgrade while bringing you more profits along the way. Those tasks can vary - for example, serving 75 burgers in 1 day, getting 3+ star reviews from one type of customers or simply serving 100 dishes - and we are still experimenting and testing to get the balance just right. 👌

Alright, once you decide to start utilizing food parks, you will want to obviously upgrade them! For now, we have 3 different levels of Food Parks with different requirements, perks and visual changes attached to them. Let’s get through them.
LEVEL 0
Well… I don’t know what you expected - it’s not built yet! You will be able to find some Food Parks around town to use on Level 1 though, so you don’t have to create your own from the very beginning.
At Level 1, have a small range and only 2 spots for parking your food trucks. Also some toilets for your customers.

At Level 2, you get extended range and an additional spot to park another food truck. Also, more benches for people to sit and blankets on top of that. And… one more toilet…

At Level 3, you get even more range and yet another additional parking spot. Now you have a real spot for people to hang out no matter the weather. There is even a special… toilet building?
As you can see, upgrading those foodparks is a must if you want to expand your Food Truck Empire further. Also, to make it more understandable how much range these Food Parks have - here is a handy GIF to showcase just that. 👇

You know what food parks are, but why in the Hell’s Kitchen would you be using them instead of normal street spots?! Well, they just make your job of overseeing your food truck fleet very trivial. Instead of having to look around town for the most profitable locations, clients go to you. 💸

However, since your food park cannot move as freely as your fleet does, you get a limited choice of customers and overall less control of who you are serving your dishes to. It’s ultimately your decision - to use food parks or not: that is the question… 🤔
We hope you understand Food Parks a lot better now! 😊
Features Buffet vol. 6 - Meet Your Customers (part 1.) 👨‍👩‍👦👷
Hello, Emperors! 👑
You know a lot, really A LOT, about the intricate mechanics behind the core gameplay of Food Truck Empire. 🤓

But what about the people that make the world of our game so interesting and varied? Time to talk about the possible customers you get to meet throughout your culinary journeys. First up, Normies, Kids and Blue Collars! 👨‍👩‍👦👷
While seemingly very simple people, Normies can be your key to the substantial growth of your food truck empire. 👨
They like everything and don’t have very high standards overall, but that doesn’t mean you get to slack off in the kitchen - you still have to prepare their food in a timely manner. Also, they mostly prefer basic ingredients like meat and produce, so you have to buy the best quality food to really WOW them with your dishes. 🤩

Normies shouldn’t be overlooked, because their raving reviews can make or break your business and make your food parks that much more popular with the largest crowd in the city. 🏙️
Don’t forget about the little ones! 👦👧
Kids have their own schedule because of school and after-school activities - so you can take advantage of that and start building your empire on the smallest customers. In Food Truck Empire, Kids get to spend their own money, but their parents are also around - so you can cook 2 birds with 1 stove… or something like that. 🤨

One caveat, though… They are VERY picky about their food as we all are aware. You have to be careful what you serve them, especially concerning more unusual ingredients. Remember: when in doubt, grilled cheese can never go wrong. 🧀
There are a lot of kids in the neighborhood, so make sure to include them one way or another in your expansion plans. 🚚
Blue Collars are the backbone of the Boulderville. 👷
They mostly spend time around the Serenity Sawmill for obvious reasons. To become a successful Emperor, you have to be fast about your food - those people are looking for a cheap bite in the morning or during their break from work. No need for exquisite dishes or elaborate compositions - give them a meaty burger that will fill them up for the day and you are good to go. 🍔

Blue Collars also spend time in other places after work, but to fully profit from their tastes, you have to adjust your plans to their lifestyle. Maybe it’s worth keeping one dedicated food truck stationed right outside the Sawmill to have the food ready for those hungry workers. Experiment and grow your empire with different customers! 👨‍🔬
That would be all the customers we’ve prepared - for now… 👀
Stay tuned for more posts regarding providing excellent service to different groups of people.

Features Buffet vol. 5 - Time is Money🕒💸
Hello, Emperors! 👑
Last time on Features Buffet we showcased some of the best ways to set up your food trucks’ interior for optimal taste, speed and profit! Today we’d love to talk a little bit about how TIME OF DAY works in Food Truck Empire and how it affects gameplay. ⌛

A day in Food Truck Empire consists of 3 different time periods, each with its own distinct vibe and look.
🌅 Morning - 5:00 AM - 12:00 PM
☀️ Afternoon - 12:00 PM - 7:00 PM
🌇 Night - 7:00 PM - 2:00 AM
We wanted to make sure that with lighting and other effects we can make them as distinct as possible while also keeping the overall character of the game consistent. We’ll share more on how we achieved such a lighting system in a separate post soon.

But time of day is not just about looks, it plays a pivotal role in our cities’ lives. 🏙️

As you already know, we have a lot of different types of (potential) food truck customers inhabiting our game. Each of them has their own behaviors depending on the time of day. Early in the morning, the streets will be full of commuters, kids on their way to school, and workers getting ready for a hard day of good old manual labor. 👷

If you want to cater to a specific demographic, you have to get to know their schedule. Afternoons might be a better time for tourists or elders just casually strolling through town. And nighttime? Nighttime is party time, so be on the lookout for a lot of hipsters and partygoers eager to burn the midnight oil and eat some burgers. You can try serving food to elders at midnight, maybe it ain’t the most sound business strategy - but you do you! 🤠

Ok, so now for the last piece of the puzzle. You know all about demographics, and you know that different times of day affect how the city and its inhabitants behave, so it’s time for EVENTS. 😁

Events are… well, events that happen during specific hours throughout the game. Some of them might be regular, like lunchtime in the downtown business district, and some might be dynamic, like a game happening at a local stadium. ⚽

Each of them presents an opportunity and a challenge. It pays to always be prepared and agile with planning your fleet and menu. You never know when that extra food truck might come in handy! 🚚
⏱️We've run out of time - literally ⏱️
We hope that, with this post, you will be able to plan your timely business expansion in Food Truck Empire accordingly. If you’re hungry for more info on Food Truck Empire or have any questions regarding this post - let us know below in the comments.

Features Buffet vol. 4 - Optimizing Potential & Flavor 🍔⭐
Welcome, Emperors! 👑
Some time ago for Features Buffet we went through equipment inside the food truck needed for building your empire in the SPCU order.

Now, it’s time for some more in-depth explanations of the systems and mechanics of Food Truck Empire concerning the cooking pipeline and its optimization. Knowledge of hydraulics is not mandatory. Let’s go! 🤠

In Food Truck Empire, your food is judged by the world’s worst critic - the hungry public. 🙃
Many aspects are taken into account when measuring how successful your food truck is in the eyes of the crowd, like Preparation time, Potential of ingredients or the overall Flavor of the food.

To improve your review scores, you need to start using better ingredients and more equipment.. You can’t build an empire on premade patties and bought baked goods. These are great for at the beginning, don’t get us wrong - but you will have to sooner or later implement some changes to your layout. 🚚

Every ingredient in Food Truck Empire has an inherent value of Potential. To keep it brief, it's all about what can you do with a particular ingredients and how many steps of Preparation you include. 🔪

Some ingredients can go through a lot of different steps, while others have only 1 or 2. For example, Premade Patties have low Potential. Once you upgrade to Processed Meat which is higher in Potential, you can add a Manual Preparation step that can make the Quality of the overall dish better in the long run. ⭐

For the sake of this explanation, let's use the highest Potential ingredients when it comes to Burgers so Raw Meat pieces. They have the same value as a Premade Patties, so 1, until you process the Meat to a form of Processed Meat. You can finish here with 2 slots of Potential, but you can go even further and then form proper patties from that meat. By doing this, your Potential jumped from 2 to 3. ☝️

However, you can just as well get the Raw Meat and slap it on the grill. Would it be then better than the Premade Patty? Well, not really.🙃
That's why upgrading your food truck interior with new equipment is as important as getting new ingredients. But, as in a lot of systems in Food Truck Empire, how you approach the potential of the ingredients is entirely up to you. Do you want to get Michelin Stars and prepare all your ingredients from scratch or would you rather just stick with Frozen and Premade ingredients Fast Food style? 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳

The next important value is the Flavor of the dish you are serving to customers. Cooking and seasoning brings Flavor to whatever you are serving, but it is very heavily reliant on the ingredients' Potential and Preparation steps.

The value of Flavor is based on how many Potential slots your Ingredients have. As described above, some Ingredients have more Potential than others, but that doesn't mean you have to fully make use of that potential. 😎

For example, grilling can give you up to +3 Flavor if your ingredient's potential matches that number. So if you are using only Premade Patties, your Flavor will only be 1 no matter how good your equipment or seasoning gets, because the initial Potential is too low for the +3 from the Grill to matter. If you prepare Raw Meat to the Processed Meat stage only, then it will only ever have 2 Flavor, even though Raw Meat itself can be brought to up to 3 Potential. 🤓

When it comes to serving your customers, the food’s quality matters a lot but it is not the only vital component to raving reviews. You also have to provide great service on time. Ambitious dishes matter little when people have to wait outside your truck for 15 minutes to eat. In contrast, when food is provided very fast, your review score can improve significantly even if your dishes are mediocre at best. 😅

Every consumer is different, that’s obvious. Some eat meat, some don’t - some are lactose intolerant, and some love cheese more than anything in the world. You have to figure out what each demographic group like and understand their preferences, usual routes and schedules. Selling Steaks to Kids at 10 PM near the stadium isn’t the smartest idea. 🤔

So, plan your food truck’s kitchen accordingly to make the dishes not only delicious to your chosen demographic but also deliverable in a timely manner. Maybe seasoning BOTH the bun and meat isn’t that important or people don’t care if you use presliced cheese. Those decisions are a constant challenge to overcome in Food Truck Empire. 🚚👑

The pipeline class session is over and you are ready to put that knowledge into good use. Let’s go through 3 examples of equipped food truck’s kitchen and see what can be fixed or improved in them. For the sake of clarity, we will be using burgers in every truck below.🍔
🔸 Case 1. 🔸
Alright, our first contender and... we are not off to a great start. 😬
Do you see what’s wrong here, Emperor? Besides… everything. Well, maybe the serving counter is in the correct place, I will give them that. First of all, there is not a single piece of Manual Preparation involved except cutting the bun in two. Moreover, the pieces of furniture are too far from each other making the whole process a lot slower. Let’s try to fix it a little, shall we? 💪

See, better already! 🤗
We improved the quality of the food overall by changing premade patties with Processed meat. That added one more step to the preparation, as we needed to add a Working station, but it overall boosted our score with customers. Then we also changed the layout of the whole truck, literally keeping only the Serving Counter where it was, to make the process of cooking much faster.
🔸 Case 2. 🔸
Okay, the previous one was a warm-up. Are you ready for something more challenging, Emperor? 🧐
This time, someone wanted to create a delicious Fish Burger with freshly baked Buns. We wonder what can be improved here…

Alright, alright - this one is better already - at least you don’t have to run around the truck like a headless chicken! 🐔
However, there are still some issues. To begin with, creating bread from scratch sounds awesome, but is not optimal for this type of dish. Do you really need to create your own dough for it as well? And also, the bun itself has so many steps involved while the Fish is premade and then just reheated in an Adventure Oven (hip name for a microwave). Let’s see how to improve it…

This looks exquisite!
By exchanging some of the preparation steps from bread to fish, the quality of the food itself has improved while also maintaining a better potential for the buns. The fish is not premade and you have to do some prep work to bring its Potential further. Through optimization of both operations, this food truck now works much better and provides better service than before. Great job! 👍
🔸 Case 3. 🔸
Alright, 2 down, 1 more to go! Let’s take a look at the last screenshot of a mobile kitchen.
We’re stumped - is there anything to improve? 🤨
Maybe you could try creating your own buns, but that ain’t a deal-breaker as you already have 3 ingredients involved in the preparation and space in the food truck is really limited. Do you see anything that can be improved here? We believe it’s fantastischly optimized already... or is it?
The inside optimization of the truck ain’t so hard after all!🙌
The most important lesson from this post is that ingredients' Potential is unleashed through Preparation while forms of Cooking brings Flavor. With both the prior knowledge of equipment and now the pipeline optimization skills, you will build a successful Empire in no time. Features Buffet vol. 3 - Exploring Clark's Valley! 🚚🗺️

Hallo, Emperors! 👋

Last time around for Features Buffet we went through equipment inside the food truck needed for building your empire in the SPCU order. Now, it’s time to explore the first city at your disposal - the quaint Boulderville! Your food matters a lot, sure, but without knowing your surroundings, you will be running around like a headless chicken. Don’t worry - we’re here to help you!

The first available place for you is the Boulderville’s East District called Clark’s Valley. You will be able to progress through the game and build outposts to expand your influence, but you have to start somewhere. Clark’s Valley may look tame and quiet at first, especially in comparison to the bustling West District, but it has a lot of lively landmarks with hungry customers. We will be going through each of the districts to show you what type of people spend time there and how to best utilize it in your business expansion.

It’s only fitting to start our journey through the town with the Boulderville Train Station. This is the main hub of transportation in the city, so obviously you can find a lot of Tourists coming in and usual residents leaving for trips and vacations, Normies in particular. This is a perfect opportunity to serve great food to people about to start or end their journey. Of course, in such a spot, timely service matters much more than the quality, so you have to adapt your mobile kitchen accordingly.

We move on to the place where most of the Tourists stay to enjoy the serene atmosphere of Boulderville, so the Quiet Cove Tourist Lodges and their surroundings. Some places of note here are the surrounding shops and the smaller basketball court. Tourists are usually up and about exploring the city and the landscapes around, but when it comes to breakfasts and late dinners - you must be prepared to provide them with such food that they will forget food delivery exists.

Serving food to Tourists is fun, especially since you can experiment a lot, but you cannot rely fully on them for steady profit, as they only visit for some time. You will have to, sooner or later, also cater to the usual residents of the city, them being Elders, Hipsters, Bluecollars, Kids, Teenagers and of course Normies. In the many Housing Districts around Boulderville you can find different groups of customers depending not only the location itself but also time of day, so be sure to adapt accordingly! Some Villas can be found around the premises as well, so you can maybe try to cater to a more ‘’expensive’’ crowd.

Every respected city needs to have a school. In the Clark’s Valley, you can find the Boulderville Primary School with the adjoined facilities such as a Swimming Pool and a sport Court. Obviously, the customers you want to target the most is Kids with their Normies parents as a close second. One thing to note is that no kid will be seen here after school, so there’s no point leaving your truck in there for the evening unless there is an event happening at the Court or Swimming Pool. Otherwise, that would be kind of weird…

You know now where different people live, but where do they spend their work and free time? Well, Main Street is one of the most popular destinations for locals, so it’s less about finding the right people and more about the right time. In the morning, you will usually meet either Normies running errands and commuting to work with or Elders. The afternoon, when the majority of locals work, is a perfect time for Tourists to explore the city and try some local cuisine, but also for Teenagers starting to leave school for the day. The evening there is usually for Hipsters, because you know… hipsters.

Clark's Valley wouldn’t be complete without a Cafe! Loved by everyone, but especially Tourists, Normies and Elders, the Whispering Willow Cafe is a perfect place for you to set up your truck and maybe grill some burgers nearby. By choosing an already established business site, you ensure that at least some people will show up, making it a pretty safe option for a first spot. Who wouldn’t want a freshly prepared cheap bite with their morning coffee or tea?

Some lots in Food Truck Empire are not the most visited for the time being, such as Calm Forest. It may happen that in your playthrough, these may transform later to other environments as time passes but also can be hubs for special events. Nevertheless, some people appreciate the quaint nature of places like that, so you can find some hungry customers there for sure in your downtime.

Serenity Sawmill is the usual place of work for the Bluecollars in Clark’s Valley , so you will have to mostly cater to their needs and also adapt to their schedules. When they go to work, when they start they break, when they leave - you have to be there to provide if you want your food truck business to prosper. Also, there is a Parking Lot nearby with the possibility of other customers appearing throughout the day, so prepare accordingly.
We hope this little guide to Clark’s Valley in Boulderville will help you once you will be able to play through the first few hours of Food Truck Empire!
