Realistic FPS Arma Reforger continues its huge Steam comeback with new update

The realistic, tactical type of FPS game is having a real resurgence right now. Gray Zone Warfare was a big hit in 2024, and Escape From Tarkov is still pulling in the players. You've also got Delta Force, Ready Or Not (which shifted to Steam and version 1.0 in 2023), and Hell Let Loose, not to mention the reveal of a new Battlefield. Given that list, you might not have expected that Arma Reforger, the awkward middle child of Bohemia's pseudo milsim series, would be able to find any love. But the Arma 3 follow up is still dominating on Steam, and a new update shows the charge isn't slowing down.

Make Arma Not War 2025 Contest

In 2014, Bohemia Interactive hosted a modding competition called Make Arma Not War, which gave rise to what would become some of the most legendary mods in Arma 3's history. Now, over a decade later, we’re thrilled to announce the return of this iconic contest for our latest title, Arma Reforger: Make Arma Not War 2025.

This Make Arma Not War 2025 competition is our way of giving back to the dedicated modding community that does so much to continuously push the boundaries for the Arma Platform, while kickstarting the next generation of mods on the all-new Enfusion engine. With over $100,000 in prizes, including cash and other rewards, participants have the chance to compete in multiple categories to develop incredible mods for Arma Reforger. In addition, winning entries will receive promotion through Bohemia Interactive’s official channels to showcase their creativity and abilities to our global community.

To ensure participants have everything they need to utilize their creativity, Bohemia Interactive is hosting a series of Modding Boot Camps. These topic-focused workshops will:
  • Be led by Bohemia developers themselves, offering tips and guidance for specific areas of modding.
  • Cover fundamental and advanced techniques for working with the Enfusion engine.
  • Include technical documentation and developer Q&A sessions to address modding challenges.

Whether you’re a veteran modder or just starting out, these boot camps are designed to help you bring your ideas to life.

In collaboration with the nonprofit organization Stack Up and leading researchers, Bohemia Interactive is also using this competition to bring a special focus on the positive effects of video games on mental health. A special cash prize will be awarded to a mod that fosters positive communication and reduces toxicity in the gaming environment. This initiative is aimed at raising awareness for both veterans suffering from physical and emotional trauma and the broader global gaming community.

For complete details about the competition, including rules, submission guidelines, and categories, visit our official website at www.makearmanotwar.com.
