New Roadmap for the year 2025 and our upcoming DLC

Hey Giants!

It’s finally here: our third Roadmap marking the beginning of 2025. The world of Reus 2 will soon have new content that some of you, players, have been asking for a long time!

You see it right, the Amur update is right around the corner!



[h3]Ice Age DLC in January:[/h3]

Our first announcement is the arrival of a DLC introducing a whole new biome: the Prehistoric Ice Age! This biome, as a variant of the Taiga biome, will have tons of unique biotica like the Mammoth, Permafrost, or Juniper, and will focus on evolution and extinction. This DLC will also feature 4 new Leaders and new options for each era.

The Leaders were inspired by what you, our dear community, have suggested. Know that all of this is possible thanks to each and every one of you, so we hope you’ll be happy with all this new content!

[h3]The next Major Update, the Cataclysm Update:[/h3]

The Cataclysm Update, coming with the DLC, will be the biggest free update we ever did for Reus 2, bringing a new approach to the game in its mechanics. One thing is sure, it will be a ground-shaking addition to Reus 2 that will make some waves!

[h3]Reminder: Amur Update in November[/h3]

The Amur Update is coming in a few weeks and will introduce 6 new biotica for the Taiga biome… As well as bonus content!

As you may have noticed, there are now Trading Cards and Badges available for Reus 2!



6 levels are unlockable for the Badges:
  • Level 1: Dormant Giant
  • Level 2: Awakened Giant
  • Level 3: Rising Giant
  • Level 4: Growing Giant
  • Level 5: Mighty Giant
  • Foil: Eternal giant

FIXED:
- Bug in Anomaly not being counted as a Terrain Feature.
- Bug in Anomaly that sometimes would scale tags quadratically
- Bug in Invasive Species where it wouldn't count as
- Bug where some text was TODO FEEDBACK
- Bug that infinite rerolls where not saved in your planet settings
- Wrong icon for Reef Shark

v1.3.2 Hotfix

  • 'Nature's Strategist' achievement: only trigger at 250 golden border biotica as advertised.
  • 'Universe Full of Stuff' achievement: now needs 99 instead of 100, because there are only 99 inventions.
  • Humans will prefer to invent inventions you haven't seen yet, as long as the inspiring Biotica of it is on a booster node.
  • Faulty descriptions for Create Rich Hills, Create Mountain and Create Anomaly abilities.
  • Implemented missing translations.
  • Fixed a few instances of the German and Spanish translations being swapped.

Major Update: Atlantic Forest Update

Hey Giants!

The new update is here with unique additions, balances, and fixes! For the first time since release, we have added a new Final Era to the game linked to the wilderness and ambiance of the Atlantic Forest: the Tropical Paradise Era. Some final translations - mostly of the new giant abilities - are missing. This is a known issue. Expect them around the weekend!

We have updated the Roadmap to the latest changes and plenty of new content will arrive later this year! The next Major Update is scheduled for next month, so until then, let’s dig into the main additions of this update. You can find the full Patch Notes at the end of this Steam News.

[h3]New Biotica:[/h3]

The Rainforest biome welcomes the Ocelot and Guarana as Tier 3 biotica but also Tinamou, Passion Fruit, Cougar and Vinaceous Amazon!


[h3]New Giants abilities:[/h3]

The Ocean, Frost, and Swamp Giants are now gifted with new terraforming abilities: the Anomaly which doubles all tags on the Patch, and flips a patch between shallow or deep in the Ocean, the Rich Hills which gains 2 top patches that have a permanent Mineral booster and the Invasive Slot where slot can host any land implant or animal from another biome! What kind of ecosystem will you create with all these changes?


[h3]New Era, The Tropical Paradise:[/h3]

A new Final Era achievement is born in this update: even if summer is over, the sunny days are still ongoing with this Tropical Paradise Era! Bring life to a tropical and colorful world with a large population to prosper. To unlock it, make sure you have enough Ocean, Rainforest and Savanna on your planet!

Added:
  • Ocean Giant new Terraform Ability! Ocean Anomaly: Flip a patch between reef or deep, and gain +2 biodiversity.
  • Frost Giant new Terraform Ability! Rich Hills: Gain +2 top patches (like the mountain) that have a permanent Mineral Booster.
  • Swamp Giant new Terraform Ability! Invasive Slot: Slot can host any land Plant or Animal from another biome!
  • 2 new Apex Rainforest Biotica: Ocelot and Guaraná! Both are Tier 3.
  • 4 new Cohort Rainforest Biotica: Tinamou (T2 bird), Passion Fruit, Cougar, Vinaceous Amazon (T3)
  • 1 new Final Era with achievements: Tropical Paradise! Create a tropical world with a large population!
  • 2 new Inventions.

  • Added option to pick the number of rerolls per Era you gain for free, including unlimited rerolls.
Balance:
  • Legacy Biotica will now give a 2 Eon discount when placing a new Bioticum on that slot.
  • Huntress spirit power changed: Herbivores gain +100% on all yields if next to another Herbivore.
  • Cacao Tree completely reworked.
  • Cheetah power up from 5% to 10%, and stacks 25 times.
  • Second Jaguar cost down to 10 from 14.
  • Second Tapir cost down to 9 from 10. Tapir power up to 60 from 50.
  • Orange tree power down to 25 from 30.
  • Brazilwood power up to 30 from 25.
  • Diplomat's Power no longer yields Science.
  • Skunk no longer costs Biodiversity.
  • Harpy now boosts all birds by 50%.
  • Neolithic Revolution farms now give food for plants instead of only undergrowth.
  • Mountain ability gives top row 2 Eon discount.
  • Gold power up to 15 from 10, cost down to 5 Bio from 9 bio.
  • Lychee and Zinc power up to 25.
  • Jujube power down to 35 from 75, but aura power up from 15 to 25.
  • Orange tree power down to 25 from 30.
  • Panda bio cost up to 10 from 8.
  • Zircon gains Element per hit
  • Peacock Ore intensity increased: power up to 50, hits down to 4.
  • Chrome grass blade power up to 50%, and only stacks 3 times.
  • Caiman Reptile bonus up to +75%
Fixed:
  • No longer lose prosperity "from other bonuses" at the end of the game.
  • Fixed random not saving properly.
  • Fixed Draft UI needing a scrollbar in some cases.
  • Steam Achievements are now translated in all 6 available languages.
