Wandering Sword - A Progress Update + Upcoming Demo!

Hey Swordsmen!

Happy 2023!

How are you? We've been hard at work but thought that it would be appropriate at this point to give you an update on what we've been up to and what you can expect in the coming months ahead!

So, first of all, some of you will know that there will be a Steam Next Fest coming in February 2023. We are pleased to announce that we will be taking this opportunity to launch a demo of Wandering Sword for the very first time!

To make sure we give you a good experience and idea of what Wandering Sword offers, we have been working on making sure that the demo is jam-packed with a good amount of content. You will be able to play through the first Act and go through a series of battles and quests. You will get a good idea of the gameplay, graphics, battle system, music and more.

There's a side quest that we are developing too that we can't wait to show you. Hint - it involves fishing!

As game developers we have to deal with a ton of challenges during development. Bugs are just one of them. There are difficult decisions we have to make all the time - such as deciding what kinds of martial arts to include in the game and how to best animate and present them, how to design the UI such that it gives gamers a better experience, how to make the battle system intuitive and fun, how to ensure that the storyline is engaging, what characters to put into the game, what kinds of sound effects and soundtracks to uplift the gameplay and more!

But honestly, it's all great fun for us!

We have also been working on a new Wandering Sword logo, and are pleased to show it to you with the in-game title screen!

We are so excited to get Wandering Sword's demo into your hands and hear your feedback - good or bad. It would help you get a glimpse of our vision and help us understand what you like or dislike about the game at this point. These would go a long way in helping us shape Wandering Sword into the great game we envision it to be.

So yeah! Right now, we are all hands on deck preparing a solid demo for Steam Next Fest. In addition, we will be increasing our post frequency to cover not just game updates, but also share more about the backstory and culture that led us to create Wandering Sword.

Last but not the least, the team at Wandering Sword would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy New Year! May 2023 be a better year for everyone!
