Controller Support
We are excited to announce that we are working on adding controller support for Wandering Sword! At this stage, we're evaluating which handles we'll be able to support based on the development pipeline, but rest assured we're doing everything we can to make it happen. As soon as we have more concrete details, we'll let you know. Stay tuned!
English Localization
We've heard your feedback about the English translation in the game, and we acknowledge that there are areas where we can improve. We appreciate all the feedback we've received so far, and we're committed to making the English localization as accurate and enjoyable as possible. Please feel free to share specific examples of areas that you think could be improved, such as places where the translation seems off, it would be invaluable in helping up optimize the quality of the English translation!
Character Dialogues & Storyline Plot
During the demo, there were certain NPC dialogues that were being reused, which led to similar & inaccurate conversations between NPCs of different genders and ages. We have already included plans to address this in future updates. Additionally, we will be improving the character development, shaping and overall story progression to create a more immersive experience for players!
User Interface (UI) Optimization
UI optimization are underway! Some of the things we are working on are shifting the notifications to be less obtrusive, enlarging the texts and making the overall UI more user-friendly and visually appealing!
Gameplay Mechanics
We specifically designed the in-game missions, difficulty level, backpack contents and locations in the demo to ensure a complete and enjoyable gameplay experience for you. With that said, these were temporary adjustments and we will be fine-tuning the overall gameplay mechanics in the official version!

Apart from above, we have received several other feedback as well, including those related to the combat system and meridian system. We are in the midst of prioritizing these feedback based on the current development timeline, and will keep you updated on our progress ahead!

We appreciate your patience and support as we work hard to make Wandering Sword the best it can be. Stay tuned for more updates and be sure to follow us on our social media channels for the latest news. Thank you for playing and for being a part of the Wandering Sword journey!
FAQ
First off, we would just like to thank you again for playing our demo, and we appreciate the feedback received from our players! We are grateful for both the positive feedback and constructive criticism, as it helps us improve the game.

To address some of the frequently asked questions and concerns, we have compiled an FAQ to provide more information and offer solutions!
Question: Can the main character be renamed? Now the name is fixed and we are just not that immersed in it.
Thank you for your feedback and suggestions on renaming the main character in Wandering Sword! Unfortunately the main character cannot be renamed. We created Wandering Sword to be more story-driven and we aim to provide a complete and smooth storyline, where the main character Yuwen Yi, has his own identity and name to bring you the best story experience.

With that said, we understand the importance of player immersion in a game and it's something we strive to do in the game, such as experiencing it through Wandering Sword's unique graphics, engaging storyline, and the ability to choose weapons and make decisions in the game.
Question: Do we have to wait for the action bar? Its recovery speed is too slow.
The recovery speed of the action bar is related to the character's "Qi Gathering Speed" stat—The higher the value, the faster the character takes action. If you want to speed up the battle, and you already have some party members or are very familiar with the battle system, you can switch to "Real-Time battle mode" in "Settings". This will make the pace of the battle much faster.
Question: Compared with many other Wuxia games in recent years, is there any reason why Wandering Sword is much more conservative?
At Swordsman Studio, we're passionate about Wuxia games, having grown up playing them ourselves. As the first game of the studio, we hope to create a Wuxia game that can deliver a nostalgic yet modern experience. This way, both old and new players can revisit the classic Wuxia genre and relive or experience Wuxia for the first time.
Question: Will there be random events or quests on the World Map for the players to freely explore?
There are NPCs wandering around on the World Map, but currently the game does not support random events. As mentioned before, Wandering Sword focuses more on its storytelling, supplemented by battles, meridians and other systems to enrich the gameplay.
However, even though you can only invite certain NPCs to your party (in the demo), you can give gifts to all NPCs to develop friendships and unlock more interactions with them. There are a variety of weapons and martial arts in the game, plus multiple endings of the main story and the side quests according to your choice. There is a certain degree of freedom in Wandering Sword for players to develop their own playstyle.
We have already seen many players coming up with innovative ways to play the game that we never would have imagined. We are looking forward to see more unique playstyles in the future!
Question: Bandits and wild boars are too difficult to defeat!
The difficulty level of the demo version has not been fully refined. We will work on improving the balance in the game to create a smoother difficulty curve in the future.
If you're struggling with the bandit battles, you can recruit Bai Jin from the entrance of Luo Village to fight by your side, or head to Pingkang City to complete some side quests and upgrade your equipment to increase your character's strength.
The Wild Boar Woods is designed to be the most challenging area in the demo, so it's advisable to be well-prepared before attempting it.
Question: Do invitable characters affect the storyline?
The overall storyline of the game is developed around the perspective of the main character Yuwen Yi, and some important characters that will join as teammates at some points (such as the Girl in Red in the demo). These "inevitable teammates" will promote the development of the story and are closely related to the main story.
As for other characters, such as Wei Huo from Wutong Village, who will not play a decisive role in the main story, they are currently designed to have their own side quests. This allows players to explore and discover new experiences, rather than feeling obligated to invite characters they may not be as interested in just to reach certain story endings.
Question: When will the game be released?
We plan to release the game within 2023, but a specific date has not yet been decided. The demo playtest has provided us with valuable feedback and insights, and we would want to take the time to include and follow up with them on our development plans. We will keep you updated with the latest information as soon as it becomes available.
Question: Does the game support gamepad? Will there be a console version?
The demo version does not support gamepad for now, but it will when it's officially released in the future.
There will be a console version in the future, and we will work on it after completing the PC version.
Question: What screen resolutions does the game support?
The current demo does not support resolution adjustment. Currently, the game defaults to full screen and adapts to 16:9 screen. For non-16:9 aspect ratio, there will be black edges around it.
Question: How to switch the game to windowed mode?
You can press Alt+Enter in the game to switch to windowed mode.
Question: We can't use consumables in battle, can we?
No, you can't. To restore HP, you can cast "Compose" or healing cultivation methods that you will learn as you progress through the demo.
Question: Can the saved progress in the demo be used in the official version?
We are working on incorporating optimizations and new systems which might include the storyline in the demo. As we want to ensure that players get to fully experience these new optimizations, we regret to inform that progress made in the demo version will not be transferred to the official release.

We appreciate all the feedback we have received regarding issues such as the annoyance of the red dot indicating a new item, small UI text, issues with collecting items, and trees obstructing the view. We have noted all of these suggestions and are actively working on ways to improve them for the official release of Wandering Sword. Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your valuable feedback!
