A scientific exploration team discover an unknown element in the mysterious volcano remains on
Aurich Island.
The government soon blocked the island and started to conduct confidential millitary researches.
In the new century, VENUS scientists utilized this element to make a breakthrough on material technologies like artificial neural network, artificial conduction and interstitial fluid. Biomimetics, biology and gene therapy had made huge progress based on these technologies.
However, the energy brought by this element went far off beyond expectation. Things were turing sideways...

The catastrophe suddenly broke out in the capital of west coast state Mercer.
A few humankinds were turned into mutants, and attacked others irrationally.
Astral Tower, the headquarter of VENUS was the first location that flooded by the mutants.
Lots of mutants were wandering on the street. People were devoured before knowing what is going on.
Cities were detroyed and turned into ruins due to the spread of the mutation. The once flourishing coastal city soon turn into the devastated Lost City.

All major cities started to set up blockade area and urban modern civilization was fully destroyed. All the modern heavy industry, transportation and communication were paralyzed.
The ruins of the city turned back into nature.

The blockade did not stop the virus, the catastrophy soon spread to other federal states. The horrible mutants flooded and wiped out everything.
The urban civilization of the west continent was destroyed. Some survivors managed to escape from the cities.
They fell from towns and exiled in the wild. They went on the trip to survive in desperation, and looking for a chance to survive in the wildness.

The survivors escaped from Lost City managed to survive from the crucial winter.
With the guiding of Raven Rescue Squad, they were able to build a simple shelter in the wildness of Seinz Hills and fight for their lives with countless of mutants.

Barbed wire and roadblock were everywhere. They seemed to be used to defend from something.
There got to be lots of supplies with all these fortifications.
