[p]Metroidvanias have a long history of speedrunners trying to beat the game as fast as they can. In the Akupara Discord, I hosted a Speedrun Competition for the Demo of GIGASWORD! We had two speedrunners jostling for the fastest time. Currently .techhead. on Discord has the fastest time at 16:18.35. The speedrunners are predicting that a time of 16:0X could be the fastest time for the demo. Do you think you can got any faster? Here is their run if you want to see it! I hope you’ve all been well![/p][p]This month has been an exciting one for GIGASWORD for two major reasons; the first of which being that the Steam demo has been updated with tons of new content![/p][p]Here’s what’s new:[/p][p]-Outskirts area and Forgotten Waterway area have been completely restructured[/p][p]-multiple background elements have been updated[/p][p]-collectible scrolls are now in the game, and you can find one in the demo[/p][p]-a bunny you can pet and feed carrots to![/p][p]-Sloan fight has been improved[/p][p]-tons of bug fixes[/p][p]-and more![/p][p]Alongside these changes, we’re also currently hosting an official GIGASWORD Speedrunning Challenge! How fast can you complete the demo? Hey Sword Masters,

GIGASWORD participated in PAX East with a demo of GIGASWORD! Jack, the developer of GIGASWORD, was at PAX East and they had an amazing time there. You know what, I’ll have him say how PAX East went.

Hey giga-friends!

Pax East has come and gone, and what an amazing four days it was! A couple of highlights:

• I met my friends from Akupara!!
  
• we had a CONSTANT LINE to play the demo???
  
• I dressed up as Ezra
  
• I got invited to showcase the game…at a rave?
  
• Saw a bunch of familiar faces
  
• Met some IRL Kickstarter backers!!
  
• And last but certainly not least: GIGASWORD won FIVE Best In Show awards.
  

I am so humbled by all the praise that GIGASWORD received this past weekend. I want to give a massive thank you to everyone who stopped by the booth to play the demo; it was so nice meeting all of you, and I’m so glad you enjoyed the game! I also want to thank my friends here at Akupara; they put together an amazing booth, and I couldn’t be happier with the way it turned out. Lastly, thanks to all my fans and supporters who have helped GIGASWORD get this far. This game wouldn’t be what it is today without all of you.

Well, it’s back to work for me! I can’t wait for you to all get to play the full version of GIGASWORD soon. Thanks again for sticking by me on this journey. I love you all very much!

I talked with Jack, the solo developer of GIGASWORD, on what they had been developing for the game!

Hey Giga-fans! I've been working on some new areas for GIGASWORD, and that means new background art! I've really been pushing myself with these newest assets, as I really want them to stand out in the player's memory while they're exploring the Nestrium. Some of these areas, such as the fiery Volmire, will serve as integral parts of Ezra's adventure, while others, like the blue-skied Astral Realm, will be entirely optional and thus much harder to find. Think you have what it takes to uncover all of the Nestrium's secrets?
