We have some exciting progress to share about the final two updates planned for Prince of Suburbia - Part 2.


First things first, we're thrilled to announce that the art phase for the second beach update (V0.95) is now complete! Huge kudos to our talented artist, auxiliaryout, for his amazing work.

Coding for V0.95 will have to wait a bit as we finish coding an update for our other game, A Shot in the Dark, which is set to release next week. But no worries, coding and testing for Prince of Suburbia are usually the fastest part of the development cycle. Once we're done implementing all the content, we'll focus on preparing the machine translations for the Steam release.

As we expected, the art for V0.95 wrapped up before we could fully dive into writing and coding. This gave auxiliaryout a chance to get ahead on the final planned update, V1.0, and work on remastering the remaining art that needs to be remastered.

Our hope is that getting ahead now will allow him to take a well-earned break before we start any epilogue/additional DLC content after Part 2 is finished. After working tirelessly on Prince of Suburbia for multiple years, he has earned it!


To speed up the release cycle for V1.0, we've brought on board two new team members to assist with writing: Rachel Writes (you can check her out on DeviantArt and support her on Patreon!) and the talented Yvlan_Angel.

We're excited to be on track to achieve one of our top goals for 2023 – releasing V1.0 of Prince of Suburbia! V1.0 is shaping up to be a grand finale, offering all the characters a satisfying end to their respective stories.

We are currently wrapping up art creation on the second beach update (V0.95) to Prince of Suburbia - Part 2 and beginning to plan the final update to the story (V1.0). We plan to release V1.0 as a free update to the Part 2 (paid DLC) during the second half of 2023.

Note: V1.0 will not be your last opportunity to see scenes with your favorite characters! Our plan is to continue creating content as standalone stories that exist outside of the main story of Prince of Suburbia. (See last month's dev log for more information about our future plans.)

Below are the characters that will have art in Prince of Suburbia - Part 2 (V1.0) that we are soliciting suggestions for. All scenes will be 1-on-1 MF scenes (MC and the female character).

Here are some questions we get frequently from our players on Steam!

[h3]What updates are planned for Part 2 (paid DLC)?[/h3]

• The first beach update (V0.9) was already added to the game last month. This update was free for all players who had previously purchased the Part 2 (paid DLC).
  
• The second beach update (V0.95) will be the second free update to the Part 2 (paid DLC). It will also be free for all players who have previously purchased the Part 2 (paid DLC). It's estimated release on Steam is late Spring 2023.
  
• The last update to the main story (V1.0) will be the last free update made to the Part 2 (paid DLC). It is estimated to release in the second half of 2023 and will be free for all players who have previously purchased the Part 2 DLC.

[h3]When will the game leave Early Access? Will the price increase?[/h3]
Once all of the remastered art and voice acting has been added to both Part 1 (free demo) and Part 2 (paid DLC), the game will move from Early Access to full release. Our plan is for the game to leave Early Access later in 2023.

A price increase for Part 2 (paid DLC) will likely happen at this point, more details to follow as we approach this transition.

[h3]Are there any plans for a Part 3?[/h3]
After we wrap up the main story with the V1.0 release, we plan to have additional DLC content with all of the characters, including pregnancy content. These DLCs will not continue the main story, they will be standalone scenes that take place outside of the main story. No Part 3 of the main story is planned.

[h2]Progress continues on the second beach update![/h2]



Art for the second beach update (V0.95) of Prince of Suburbia - Part 2 (paid DLC) is progressing on schedule!

With the writing wrapping up for the next update of our other game, A Shot in the Dark, our team will be able to shift focus to Prince of Suburbia so we should see more progress on the writing in April. We are also looking to hire an additional writer or two to potentially help with this and/or future updates.

One of our team members who works on Prince of Suburbia has had a health emergency and will be taking the month of April off. If this causes any delays with the V0.95 development cycle, we will keep players updated. We did not anticipate releasing V0.95 in April anyway, so it's too soon to say if there will be an impact beyond that. We wish our team member a healthy and speedy recovery!

We are already planning ahead for the artwork and remastered scenes in V1.0 (the last update of the main story). Ideally, we'd like to get ahead on art so that our artist and animator can take a much-needed break to rest and heal his hand between the main game and the pregnancy/epilogue content we have planned for later this year or early next year.

If there are any delays with the release of V0.95, a silver lining is that it will likely allow us to include some of the remastered art planned for V1.0 in the V0.95 release so that we can sooner reach our goal of a fully remastered game and moving out of Early Access!

The V0.95 update includes the most complex art we've ever attempted, and we are certain it will be worth the wait! Attached to this post are some previews to whet your appetite. ;)

Happy Valentine's Day to all of our Prince of Suburbia fans! A FREE UPDATE has been made to both Part 1 and Part 2 of Prince of Suburbia with remastered scenes, new content, and new translations!

Part 1 now has two new remastered scenes (one with Heather, one with Naomi) that are available to all players. If you already saw the original scenes, you can access the remastered scenes in the gallery (they are #13 - Naomi and #18 - Heather).

Part 2 now has the V0.9 content (the first beach update). Anyone who has purchased the Part 2 paid DLC can now start the game at the beginning of the V0.9 update, jumping into the story where the previous version (V0.8) left off.

The first beach update, Part 2 - V0.9 of Prince of Suburbia includes:
