• The sound for firing the shotgun has been changed to a more powerful variant. This affects the player's sound when firing as well as the Carlist enemy type firing.
 • The sound of dogs barking when chasing after the player has been tweaked to remove some high pitch noise that occurred in some circumstances.
 • The sound of various flames from props and projectiles had some noise errors caused by settings for the sound mixing that has been fixed.

Hello, soldiers!

Only Lead Can Stop Them has now been available for a month, and we thought it’s a perfect time to share some of the highlights since its release.

The game was recently recognized as one of the Top 100 in IndieDB’s Indie of the Year Awards, a testament to the strong reception from the indie gaming community. On Steam, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with a 90% positive review score from players.

Our launch trailer has also made waves, surpassing 35,000 views - a number that exceeded our expectations. Many comments have highlighted and praised the influence of classic shooters - especially Wolfenstein 3D and the modern boomer shooter Cultic.

Patch #2 is here: Fixing achievements, improving save system, and more!

Hello everyone,

We hope you've been enjoying Only Lead Can Stop Them and thank you for your feedback since the game's launch. As we move into 2025, we're kicking things off with Patch #2, addressing several issues and bringing improvements to the game. Here's what's new:
Fixes:
Achievements:
All the achievements for completing the episodes on different difficulty should now be working and trigger correctly. These are nine achievements in total:
 • Episode 1: Smooth Sailing, Turning the Tide, Tsunami
 • Episode 2: Mess Sweeper, A Fiendish Mess, Viscera Cleanup
 • Episode 3: Island Inspector, Citadel Caudillo, All your base are belong to me
Save System:
 • Fixed an issue with the save system failing to load boss enemy health and position making mid-boss battle saves not work as intended.
 • Fixed an issue with dead Lizardman having water sprite active on loaded save.
 • Fixed an issue with triggers that spawn enemies didn’t save spawning as completed so upon loading a save another round of enemies would be spawned.
 • Addressed a rare issue where a previous level would sometimes be unintentionally loaded upon death, restarting a level or starting a new game from main menu.
Rendering:
 • In order to fix an issue with sprites for enemies, pickups, and props having odd rotation when close to the camera we opted for a change restricting their rotation to only the Y-axis. This ensures a better overall visual experience with very little downside.
Combat:
 • It's now possible to kill lizardmen submerged underwater using explosives.
