Development Diary #10

Hello, brave renovators ready to make haunted places livable houses!

Ghastly presences aside, your job as a renovator is well... to renovate. When ghosts are taken care of, there is much more down-to-earth stuff to do. Fixing things is your main concern, and you must fix them well!

But how does the fixing process look? Below you will find two examples of common renovating tasks, which allow you to get an idea of how fixing stuff will look in-game.
Fixing the fixer-upper
You can shop for new furniture if you want to bring some changes around, but fixing old ones is an affordable option - and it keeps the atmosphere of the location as it was before the paranormal took over!

You will also have to repair some of the surfaces, for instance the damaged floors. You can expect a lot of such fixes to be done, as the state of flooring may be awful. After all, those houses stood empty sometimes for decades. No one walked these halls except ghosts and such intangible apparitions are not bothered by the floors being unwalkable to mortals!

Please remember that the presented animations may be subject to change, as we are hard at work to make fixing everything around fun and good-looking!

Development Diary #9

Hello, future investigators of haunted houses slated to be cleaned up!

Sometimes you will find a haunting that you cannot just exorcise with your usual tools array. It cannot be trapped or otherwise banished. Take for example a suspiciously animate angel statue, that looks at you menacingly with its glowing eyes. It moves in far too many places of its marble silhouette but doesn't want to budge otherwise.

That's the moment that you as a paranormal exterminator/house renovator must use your investigative skills. Take a longer look at the angel... The statue seems incomplete. This type of clue shows that there is a puzzle here to solve and may happen for many haunted objects in the game.
Cases of missing possessions
In the case of our angel, you may deduce that it might be a music enthusiast. Her arms seem to be in position to play some instrument and soon enough, you are able to find a harp. Using your telekinetic abilities, you can give the missing item back to angel. With one last creepy and twisty transformation and a gentle note from the harp, the haunting is calmed. The statue has turned back to... well, a normal statue.

Please remember that the presented gameplay may be subject to change, as we are still tweaking the puzzling situations you may encounter in the final product

Development Diary #8

Hello, seekers of both homemaking and paranormal excitements!

A house is nothing without those small details and objects that make it homely. We are hard at work with many aspects of the game, but we are mindful to add those little touches all over the place. Of course, in our case, they may be homely mostly to the supernatural creatures lurking around... Creepy or not, they make the ambience correct at least!

From furniture to kitchenware, everything should match the atmosphere... and make players wonder if there is a ghost inside. Because in a house full of mischievous spirits, every little thing can get haunted. Some of those possessions of possessions are pretty obvious, but others will reveal themselves only to the most curious renovating explorers.
Items that might or might not be haunted!
Okay, this painting is haunted at first glance! Even if the dark character depicted in it wasn't an avid musician, it would be suspicious like hell. At least you have a free concert every night with such paintings hanging in your living room!

On the other hand, we moved the kettle and it didn't seem to act up - so is it haunted or not? You never know! Don't get too paranoid, but everything may serve ghost their ghastly purpose at any moment. Not paranoid and jumping at the kettle's whistle? Although beware of having fun with flying kettles nevertheless. As you can see, the water is boiling!

Please remember that the presented assets may be subject to change, as we are still making the in-game houses full of objects of various levels of hauntedness!
