Nightingale reviews fall to 'mixed' on Steam amid early concerns

Nightingale is finally here, but it's been met with launch struggles as reports of connection issues, progression-breaking bugs, and a need to play online result in 'mixed' Steam reviews just one day after launch. In a crowded market amidst the launch of Palworld, Enshrouded, and Smalland, alongside established names such as Valheim, Sons of the Forest, Rust, and Ark, it looks like Nightingale is going to have a bit of an uphill climb.

Nightingale server status and planned maintenance

Are the Nightingale servers down? Nightingale might take you between a series of stunning Realms, but no matter which you're currently in, there's no escaping server downtime. If servers go down unexpectedly, or are taken offline for maintenance, you'll have to spend some time back in the real world.

As with all online games, there are multiple reasons why you might be kicked from the servers. Nightingale is no different, and there are a few Nightingale error messages, including those you might see during Nightingale scheduled maintenance. If you can't get into the survival game right now, read on to find out if there's something wider going on with Nightingale servers, or if it's something on your end.

Server Maintenance Complete | Patch Notes v0.1.0a

Our server maintenance has concluded and our servers are now back online.

Please update your game to access the Realms once again. It's recommended to restart Steam/Epic to make sure you're on the latest version.

0.1.0a Hotfix patch notes:

Should address most instances of "Running out of GPU memory" error on graphic cards that exceed min spec
Players should be able to rebind inputs to the arrow keys, you may receive a warning to rebind camera controls which are bound to the arrow keys by default
Pressing Tab + I together should no longer crash the game

Planned Server Maintenance Has Started

Realmwalkers,

Our server maintenance has begun.

During this time you will be unable to log into the Realms.

This maintenance period is to push a hotfix that should address the following issues:

Most instances of "Running out of GPU memory" error on graphic cards that exceed min spec
Issues with arrow keys being used for key rebinds
Pressing Tab + I together crashing the game

We anticipate approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour of downtime.

We will post another news article when the servers are back online.

Planned Server Maintenance | Feb 21, 2021 4:00am MT

Heya Realmwalkers,

To roll out a hotfix we have planned server downtime starting at 4:00 am MT on February 21, 2024.

This hotfix should address:

Most instances of "Running out of GPU memory" error on graphic cards that exceed min spec
Issues with arrow keys being used for key rebinds
Pressing Tab + I together crashing the game

During server downtime, you will get kicked from the game and be unable to login. We're estimating approximately 30 mins to 1 hour of downtime.

We will make an announcement here when the maintenance is complete, and when you can download the update.
