Patch 0.2.1 Day Count Feature and Various Improvements!
Dear Survivors,

Patch 0.2.1 - Day Count Feature and Various Improvements is Now Live!
This update introduces various bug fixes and some Quality of Life improvements to Bootstrap Island. In addition to adding a Day Count and Grab Toggle to the game, most of the teething issues with Satchel and Book of Building features should now be fixed. Most of the team is now working on some huge new things for the next Major Update but this is still months away from going live, so be patient!

Your feedback helps us shape the game, so please let us know what you think!
Patch 0.2.1 Notes:
1. New gameplay feature - Day Count. When you open the in-game menu, you can see the current day count.

2. New gameplay setting - Grab Toggle. If you switch to this mode, you don’t have to continuosly press the grab button to hold items.

3. Additional improvements:
* Wooden crates now burn when exposed to fire.
* Fixed a lagspike when placing items into Satchel.
* Improved some item placements in Satchel. Note that when you continue a pre-update game after updating, some objects in Satchel might have odd locations or rotations. Taking them out and putting them back in should fix the issue.
* Improved cordage tying when near fire.
* Cordage now properly gets wet and burns in fire.
* Cordage is now harder to find in the world.
* Satchel is now waterproof.
* Destroying a building using the book now returns all cordage.
* Destroying a building using force returns some cordage.
* Pistol now retains its cocked state when holstering and deholstering
* Fixed floatiness of the pistol, it now feels much more responsive.
* Fixed a bug where a deholstered pistol would not survive save/load.
* Reenabled seagull sounds and seagulls flying away during the night.
* Adjusted the material of building outlines and book line color.
* Improved building interactions and fixed related bugs.
* You can no longer place building outlines into rocks and other unreachable locations.
* Fixed endless ticking of equippable objects.
* Gate is now grabbable.
* Limited the number of non-started building outlines you can create to 8.
* Fixed fish appearing above water surface.
* Fixed issues with some animals not allowing meat harvesting.
* Fixed collision issues when drinking falling liquid.
* Improved pouring liquids into bottles.
* Damage to player hands now properly reduces health.
* Shooting player’s head with a firearm now more likely to be successful.
* Fixed some issues with geometry and foliage.
* Individual coconut meat piece is now cookable and burnable.
* Music no longer stops suddenly when exploring.
* Shipwreck debris items much less likely to spawn in the ground.
* Fixed monitor lizard making "hurt" sound on death.
* Improved sounds for fish interactions.
* Fixed issues with darkness attacking vignette.
* Possible drowning on land bug fix.
* Improved performance when exploring the land.
* Coconut husk debris no longer appears on Low Effects Settings. This is a workaround fix for AMD graphics card users who are experiencing a visual glitch.

Major Update #1 - Building and Inventory! Live Now!
Dear Survivors,

Major Update #1 - Building and Inventory is Now Live!
We are thrilled to announce the release of our First Major Update since we launched the game into Early Access three months ago. This update introduces two highly anticipated features: an extensive building system and enhanced inventory management. These additions promise to elevate the survival experience and provide players with even more ways to explore and thrive on the ruthless island.

Your feedback helps us shape the game, so please let us know what you think!
Major Update #1 (Patch 0.2.0) Notes:
1. New unlockable item - Satchel. Note that the item has to be unlocked first and then found in chests. You can carry two satchels (one on your left shoulder, one on your right shoulder) and switch them out.

2. New unlockable item - Book of Building. Note that the item has to be unlocked first and then found in chests. You can use it to place plans for buildable structures and to destroy plans/structures.

3. Two recipes in the Book of Building - a wall and a gate. You can use both natural and shipwreck wood to build, given that it’s at proper length.

4, New usable plant - cordage root. Likes to grow on enbankments. Very useful for building but not indestructible.

5. Revamped wood items to better accomodate building. Both natural and shipwreck wood pieces now fall into three categorys: longer pieces of wood, shorter pieces of wood, wood unfit for building.

6. Greatly improved item selection mechanic - makes it easier to pick up objects if there are several objects together.

7. New gameplay setting - grab selection. Item which is selected for grabbing is highlighted and displays a white “seal” icon. This option is on by default but can be turned off in settings. Note that grab selection is always enabled when taking items from Satchel.

8. Some shipwreck debris has washed ashore. You can use it to make your new home more cozy.

9. Additional improvements:
* Climbable wall next to the liana in ravine now looks nicer.
* Improved foliage in a number of places.
* Improved geometry in a number of places.
* Improved the interiors of caves.
* Fixed a large number of bugs.
* Fixed and improved some sounds.
* More music added to the game for exploration and nights.
* Health, thirst and hunger bar animate when a value changes.
* Fixed issues with animal aggressions, they now attack if their numbers are sufficient.

Known issues:
* Satchel and building still need some polish and bugfixing. Feedback and bug reporting is very welcome, as it helps us identifying issues.
* Seagulls are strangely quiet.
* There appears to be some issues with liquid pouring. We are looking into it.

We would love to see what you can build! Let us know what you think on our Discord!
