A Tour of the Village - The Handcrafted Village

We’ve introduced all the various districts that make up the village in Pizza Possum, but we haven’t yet talked about it as a whole. This quaint and colourful town with its distinct little neighborhoods has been lovingly handcrafted by our 2 developers over at Cosy Computer. And just like any place in the real world, our fictional village is one that remains unchanged with each run and locations won’t switch when you try getting your next crown.

This allows you to better explore the narrow streets and nooks in hunt for collectibles and the best route to reach Bella, eat their pizza and steal their crown. It'll also come in handy when chasing a new high score, always knowing where to go for the large meals, helping you accumulate as many points as possible. So grab onto your possum hat, and scream and giggle your way through the village streets in hunt for food.

Tips & Tricks - Tricky Bushes

We’ve already written a post about how fundamentally useful the bushes scattered around the island are to your hiding endeavors. However, there are also a few sneaky details about them that might catch you off guard or worse, get you caught. So here are a few tips and tricks regarding hiding in bushes.

For starters, while guard dogs have a short attention span, they aren’t stupid. If one of them manages to notice you, a clear exclamation mark will appear over their heads and they will be fast on your heels. If you run into a bush in an attempt to hide in front of their eyes, they will still remember where you are and you will notice a similar mark appear above the bush. This means you are unsafe, and they can still catch you, so running is your only option.

The bushes around the island are also notoriously thick, filled with branches and leaves. While this makes them the perfect cover to hide in, it also means it takes a little extra effort to pop out of them again, as our possum does love to eat. So if you notice yourself struggling to get out of a bush, it’s because you aren’t moving hard enough.

Tools of Choice - The Gloves

To avoid getting caught as a mischievous possum, you need to pick your battles and know when to turn tail and run. While most scenarios call for the latter, if you managed to stumble upon a set of boxing gloves in one of the many treasure boxes scattered across the village you can bring the fight to the guard dogs.

With clear confidence and a route in mind, you can run straight up to any guard dog and bonk them on the head, making them temporarily dizzy and unable to track you. This gives you the perfect opportunity to grab a hard-to-reach snack or to slip into an especially defended area. Just make sure they don’t spot you first when you attempt your bonking.

A Tour of the Village - Baking District

It goes without saying that all the scrumptious food scattered around the village must come from somewhere and that somewhere is in fact the Baking District. Filled with brick pathways, earth-toned buildings, and adorable domeshaped ovens, the scent of freshly baked bread is ever-present.

Everywhere you look there are piles of flour, toasty loaves of bread, pizzas, and other goodies to stuff your face with. Just make sure you come prepared with items, as this district isn’t the easiest to navigate. With narrow pathways and regular patrols, it’ll take a sharp-minded Possum or Raccoon to slip by unnoticed.

Tools of Choice - The Mint

What might at first glance seem like a simple sweet treat, this mint can help our Possum or Raccoon in some unexpected ways. For while it’s more than understandable that both of them want to shove food into their mouths like there is no tomorrow, if they don’t pause between bites they risk bloating up. And everyone knows it’s hard to run when your stomach is as big as a balloon.

This is where the mint can be the difference between getting caught or getting away, as it lowers the amount of time you stay in your chonky form. The more of these you manage to grab from the floating boxes, the lower your bloated form lasts, meaning you can shove more food into your mouth without consequence.
