Pre-Launch Blog | Oblivion Override out on June 14th & Some Useful Gameplay Tips
Hello everyone,
Just a few days left until the release of our game. To be specific, Oblivion Override will enter Early Access on June 14th at 5 am CEST (that is, June 13th at 8 pm PDT, and June 13th at 11 pm EDT).
Oblivion Override is actually quite accessible despite being more of a hardcore action game. Today, We'll be sharing some useful tips for new players.
Also, we've sent out the "press review" builds of the game to media outlets and content creators, so you may see some early reviews and live streams going out in the next few days. As an indie dev team, we rely on this exposure to spread the word about our game. We would be more than appreciative if you could check out these creators that helped us as well!
The Importance of Dash
Dashing (RT on controller, not jumping) can be your best friend when you want to get away from enemies’ powerful blows. During dashes, you would be immune to all damage for a short time - that is the “invincible frame” with which our previous beta testers should already be quite familiar.
Combine jumping, dashing, wall-running and weapon skills, and you get the key to win a fight with style.
Mr. Xie
Trading with Mr. Xie can unlock new features, provide more chests and grant you access to crucial areas in the Dulce Base. They would be very helpful if you are into better weapons, more supplies or, simply, staying alive.
Opening Energy Station is a good choice to start your business with Mr. Xie. In the early game, it is very plausible that you would lose a lot of HP in difficult fights due to your limited talents. Unlock Energy Station on each map, and you will get access to stable healing options.

Besides, Xie’s another service, Humanitarian Aid, can give you random supplies, including HP Regen and Shield to help you survive the first few playthroughs.
Transformation E-chair Upgrades
The Transformation e-chair on the shelter's upper level allows you to upgrade yourself permanently as you see fit, just like a skill tree. Not limited to making yourself stronger, it also unlocks some special interactions with other elements. Here are some recommendations:

Fitness and Punching Bag: Unlock these two Survival talents to increase your Max HP and reduce the damage you take in early game. If you can't beat 'em, just be more sturdy.
Add Up: This Resource talent increases the number of Nanites after each battle room, and, luckily, battle rooms are not difficult to find in Oblivion Override. That means by engaging in more fights, you can get more Nanites in early game and get certain evolutions that suit your build.

Emergency Core: The core talent in the Survival branch. Most talents in this branch make your survival less hard, and this specific talent gives you a chance to come back to life. It can be very helpful if you make a deadly mistake. It is recommended that you unlock this talent in mid-game.
Environmentalist
You can find Yadi, the Recycle Robot, in a trash disposal room in the Factory level.
After he finds his new home in the shelter, Yadi can recycle the scraps you bring back and make them useful. For example, you can transform machine scraps into Scrypts or Cores to make your next run easier.
Weapon Skill
Besides the unique attack animations and appearances, what is easy to overlook is that different weapons also have exclusive weapon skills. As the weapon level increases, it will gain more feature tags.
Players can also unlock the weapon reforging room at the NPC "Mr. Xie" to refresh weapon feature tags.
About Beta Test Application Gift
For the last-year English closed beta test, we had been continuously receiving beta tester applications from our community. At that time, we promised each beta testing applicant will be able to receive a small in-game gift as a token of gratitude.
However, due to the intense development schedule for early access launch, we've decided to postpone the creation of these rewards to ensure our primary focus is delivering a great game experience. We want to make sure the rewards hold value for you, and that can only happen if the game itself is enjoyable. Once the game is in a better state, we will start working on distributing the rewards according to the received submission info.
