Our First Speedrunner Event is Open & Player Questionnaire
Attention all hardcore gamers!
With the release of Oblivion Override, we have been thinking about what kind of event would be more suitable for our community. Tedious "screenshot sharing" activities don't have much significance, from our point of view, what everyone is most concerned about should be how to better enjoy the game.
Therefore, as Oblivion Override is a game for avid action game lovers, we believe that there is nothing better than a "Speedrunning Challenge" to help share everyone's gameplay, as well as allow our adventurers to enjoy the game without interruption during the process.
We would like to express our gratitude to the Speedrun.com officials for co-organizing this speedrunning event: Upload your speedrun video to Speedrun.com and there will be cash prizes at the end of the event.
Whether you're a seasoned speedrunner or a daring newcomer, this challenge welcomes all who dare to take part. Here's what you need to know:
[h3]SPEEDRUNNING RULES[/h3]
- Event Starting Date: June 14th, 2023
- Duration: Two weeks, until June 27th, 2023
Eligibility:
- Open to players worldwide, aged 18 and above.
- Must own a legitimate copy of Oblivion Override.
Category:
- Any Alert: Complete the game as fast as possible by finishing the boss "Nephthys" and getting the victory screen.
- No limitation to alert level, abilities, weapons, or any upgrades.
- Bugs or game loopholes are temporarily not allowed to be used. If there are specific interesting bugs that deserve an exception, we will announce them specially. You can also join our Discord group and give us feedback
Timing method:
- Timing Start: The timer starts when the loading screen finishes after teleporting away from the base.
- Timing Stop: The end time point is calculated based on the moment when the final boss is defeated, indicated by their health bar reaching zero.
- The use of a Timer is not mandatory.
Submission:
Record your speedrun and submit it via our leaderboard here on speedrun.com [noparse](https://www.speedrun.com/oblivion_override). Follow the guidelines provided for video formatting and submission requirements. [/noparse]
Rules and Regulations:
- All speedruns must adhere to the official ruleset, available on the Speedrun.com leaderboard.
- Any use of cheats, exploits, or modifications will result in disqualification.
- Multiple submissions are allowed, but only your best run will be considered. (You can't claim all top 3 prizes)
Prize Distribution:
The $10,000 prize pool will be distributed among the top performers for the fastest completion time in the Any% category. That means first place takes home $4,000, second place gets $2,500, third place receives $1,500, and everyone that is placed in 4th to 23rd gets $100
