1.0 Update

[p][/p][p][/p][p]Thats right cube chaos HAS LEFT EARLY ACCESS and with that comes a large update:
-Elemental rework! (Its basically a new species!)
-3 new Terrains!
-All Terrains now have a boss variant!
-3 Secret Endings!
-10 Achievements
-8 normal perks, 1 neutral perk, 4 cubes, 7 animations for old cubes
-A bunch of perk and class species synergies reworked and rebalanced
-Various minor UI improvements and niceties
-Fixes (always FIXES)

There is a 20% discount for a bit, in case you haven't gotten the game and are reading this.

What happens now? I put answers to various 1.0 related questions in a faq in the discord, but generally there will be 1 more update with fixes and whatever goes wrong, however after that dont expect updates, I will still do some whenever I feel like it, but thats inconsistent and arbitrary.

Now that I have gotten here I think I will pat myself on the back and showcase the list of all the mayor changes and additions in the full early access period:
-Roughly 3000 lines of patchnotes
-Terrains and boss terrain variants (thats right terrains didnt exist AT ALL)
-Tooltips, mana bar UI, time UI other UI and just general QOL improvements
-A full check of all perk and cube descriptions
-700+ new more perks from (1296 -> 2063)
-Cube upgrades and consumable upgrades
-2 new classes, 3 new species (4 if you count the elemental full rework)
-Nightmare system reworked (twice kinda)
-More fixes and balance changes than I can easily count!
-Tons of other not so easy to categorize stuff!

Big thanks to the discord and steam forum community for providing feedback, bug reports, suggestions and well community! I coulden't and woulden't have gotten here without everyone!

1.0 Release Date, Price Increase

Cube Chaos will leave early access on 18. June 2025.


To that end there will also be a PRICE INCREASE on 17. May 2025 to 11.99$, as there is a 30 day cooldown between price increases and discounts.
Then there will be a 20% launch discount with the leave from early access (20% of the 11.99$).

I have long been ruminating/hesitating about the best time to leave early access, but I think its finally time to take the step and I am happy with how much the game has expanded and improved since early access launch.

Huge thank you to all the people in the discord and steam forums for all the feedback writing, bug reporting, suggesting, modding and just general talking you did, it helped tremendously to improve the game.

There are some more details in the discord, where I will also answer questions.

Fixing and Stockpiling Update

Summarized Patchnotes:
-Various minor quality of life:
--Dragon egg perks now reference the adult and baby dragon directly for easier understanding and checking
--Insane speed options start default on when unlocked (only for newly unlocking)
--Cubes added by boss scaling now start locked for 1 minute giving the player time to prepare
--Automated single "minute" text now is "1 minute" for reasons which are best explained by testing the sentence above (same with 1 second and 1 tick)
--Node map performance improved significantly
-6 Balance changes
-12 Spelling mistakes fixed/Descriptions improved
-A few other fixes

This is a small update, in part because of variance in my productivity, for example due to sickness, which of course for a single person project have much greater impact, and in part because I am stockpiling some stuff for future 1.0 business.

Nightmare Stuff Update

-Reworked nightmares (And a bit of boon blight selection stuff)
-Map movement animation (And option to disable)
-5 Events with 10 new event specific perks
-12 Perks, 1 golden perk, 7 Curses, 3 Boons, 1 Neutral, 7 Cube Upgrades
-Random cube/perk gain screen (So you know what you got)
-Cheaper rerolls, Debt cubes are locked for 1 minute to give reaction-time
-Various balance changes, other changes, fixes and modding stuff

Perk Clarity Update

Mini Patchnotes:
-999 Perk descriptions slightly improved
-Gold/Perk Value makes more sense now
--All gold values are halved, inlcuding prices, basicly no gameplay changes, but perk value = gold cost now for shops and upgrades, which makes things a lot easier to understand.
-1 Gold perk, 1 Neutral perk
-Various balance changes and fixes

The main thing about this update is the perk description changes, where I went through every perk and tried to see if it could be more clear, most of the changes arent that huge, but with 999 of them it should make a significant difference. Also yes it is exactly 999, I did not make this up, it just happened that way, statistics and all that.
