PTR - Endless Mode and 2 New Difficulties

Hello everybody,

the ptr-1 steam branch has now been updated with new features and is ready for testing, before the version goes live as 1.1 update.

[h2]Endless Mode[/h2]

The "endless" mode is here! What it means?
  • The survival world map now has 5 additional map points, 1 for each biome
  • Playing on survival has no WIN condition and no final demonic wave
  • You lose the game if you loose the keep
  • You will eventually fall, as each night, the difficulty and number of enemies increase.
  • Now its about: How far you can get?


[h2]New Difficulties[/h2]
[h3]Explorer[/h3]
The easiest difficulty bellow Easy. It is designed for players who want to explore the map and build without much challenge.

  • Less enemies during the nights
  • Enemies on map have lower levels


[h3]Chaosborn[/h3]
The hardest difficulty, above hard.
  • All enemies have more health/damage than on hard
  • The enemy levels on the map scale higher. So you may fight 15 orc warlord in a camp instead of lvl 10 as you used to (10 and 15 is quite a huge difference)
  • Amount of enemies during night invasions is higher. Please do not expect 3x more enemies, as there are still performance limitations
Disclaimer: all values you see in game for difficulties and enemy waves are prone to change during testing based on feedback.

We will modify the balance based on feedback, so please expect balancing issues, as the PTR is for testing and balancing feedback.

How to access the PTR version:
1. Right-click on Darfall in your Steam Library
2. Choose Properties
3. Go to the Betas tab
4. From the dropdown, select ptr-1 (this will trigger an update)
5. Click Play



To return to the regular version, repeat the steps above but choose None instead of ptr-1.

[h3]Improvements[/h3]
  • Winter Backpack (Previously just "Epic Backpack"), now allows the salvage feature anywhere on the map
  • Survival: The Game End screen now displays the map that was played
  • Improved hero portraits in the UI
  • Scenario Editor: Added actions to store a unit’s rank experience into a variable and load it later
  • Scenario Editor: Added an action to store units in map links allowing them to be transferred between individual maps


[h3]Fixes[/h3]
  • Fixed an issue where double-clicking a unit would also select units outside the screen
  • Campaign: Fixed a bug where campaign progress wasn’t saved after exiting to the main menu following a completed mission
  • Campaign: Fixed a rare issue in Mission 5 where Rotten Captain Thorne could get stuck and couldn't move
  • Campaign: Fixed a statue that units could pass through in Mission 5

1.0.9 Patch Available Now!

Greetings,

the latest patch for Darfall is ready and released.

This update brings several highly requested features: the Patrol command, the ability for players to manually order towers to target enemies, and a fix for items not being clickable in Fog of War.

Scoring has also been updated: each demon portal destroyed now gives +1500 score, up to 4500 total. You can now take out just one portal before the final wave for a solid bonus, instead of needing all three.

To highlight your performance in survival scores, we’ve added a new post-game scoreboard with a full breakdown of your best runs:

  • Survival: Added a score table for each map to the Survival map
  • Scenario Editor: Added entity and blueprint comparison condition
  • Enemies attacking walls will now switch targets to attackers if they are within line of sight
  • Ballistas and Towers can now be manually targeted by right-clicking on an enemy
  • Ballistas and Towers now prioritize enemies that deal damage to them
  • Added: Patrol command (P)


[h3]Balance[/h3]
  • Survival: Each destroyed portal now grants +1500 score


[h3]Fixes[/h3]
  • Campaign: Fixed an issue where villagers could get stuck when their path was blocked in Mission 5
  • Campaign: Adjusted event timing to reduce unnecessary waiting in Mission 5
  • Campaign: Fixed an issue where supply carts couldn’t reach the Pylon due to barricades in Mission 6
  • Scenario Editor: Fixed wander range override resetting after reloading a map
  • Fixed flickering in the loading UI after cutscenes when FPS are low
  • Fixed interactions with objects in Fog of War shrouds not working properly
  • Fixed an issue where queued actions using Shift would stop if an enemy was inside the Fog of War
  • Fixed an issue where queued actions didn't display units paths, except for the Hero
  • Fixed an issue where keybinds were reset after closing and reopening the game

Steam Cloud Sync - Now Live

Hello everybody.

the steam cloud save sync is now live and enabled!

It took a bit longer as we had to make sure the cloud works with your existing saves and steam doesn't just delete them once you start the game :)

We have tested this on several machines, both survival and campaign saves sync correctly.

1.0.8 Patch - Order Queueing and AI Improvements

Greetings,

the latest patch for Darfall is ready and released.

It brings the much requested order queuing by holding SHIFT


as well as enemies now prioritize your frontline units, instead of moving directly at your archers in the back.

  • Added: Player unit orders can now be queued by holding SHIFT
  • Campaign: Map saves now persist until you proceed to the campaign map
  • Improved: player selection and enemy targeting in large scale battles
  • Improved: AI now prioritizes targeting front-line units
  • Repair all button can now be keybinded

  • Campaign: Structures cannot be destroyed while invisible enemies are present in Mission 7
  • Campaign: Fixed enemies walked around walls in Mission 7
  • Campaign: Possible fix for Bryn appearing prematurely in the bushes side quest in Mission 5
  • Campaign: Fixed misleading bridge that appeared accessible for following Ragnok in Mission 3
  • Campaign: Final boss now teleports to summon portals instead of walking there
