Ease of use and bug fixes update! 1.7.3

Hey guys! We just pushed out a smaller update fixing some of the issues people have been having since launch and make things a little easier.

Sign-in Fixes

The most commonly encountered bug/ complaint was on signup not being able to paste in things! So we fixed that as well as added a button to add the @ symbol as some keyboards were not detecting people hitting the @ symbol on them.

Ease of Use Improvements

A lot of newer users were having trouble understanding how mutated vs held items were handled. So we have added some more text prompts when applying items to help make it more clear what is going on. As well as not allowing people to do silly things like giving a fish to a goo already holding a fish.

Final thoughts/ future things

Overall thank you guys so making the launch great so far! Over 500 people have tried out the game since it came out Thursday. We have a lot more planned for the game such as new Goos, new game modes and even more free content. Feel free to leave us a Steam review, those help us out a ton and let me know if you have any feedback or questions! See you soon.

Update 1.7! New Goos! New Items! New balance! More Fixes.

Big update to prepare us for launch! There are new goos, new items and tons of Quality improvements.

NEW GOO!

The first of the unlockable Goo packs is out! It contains a ton of new Items and 10 new Goos. Some of my favorite goos are in this pack all with cool new strategies and ways to play.

Balance changes

The two most under utilized goos where by far the bubble goo and the Frob. As such both are getting pretty big buffs. The bubble goo now will only hit enemies instead of everyone. As well the bubble goo used to be quite difficult to get as you had to lose a bunch of matches to unlock them. Now you get them by using the 'bubble' item that is gotten through having 3 or more water goos on your team.

The Frob did not have nearly enough HP to be the tank it was intended to be. As such its starting HP has DOUBLED as well as doubling its starting defense. This should make the frob more of an attractive option in the mid game

Final thoughts

I'm super excited to see more people play the game and see what cool teams and strategies develop! As always feel free to let me know if you have any feedback or questions, See you in the arena!!

Huge update this week, Lets get into it.

Goo Gangs

We have the first version of Goo Gangs out, Form a Gang and start upgrading your gang to be the best goo gang in the Galaxy with your friends! Gangs are a great way to see what your friends are up to and to start collecting wins as a group!

Customizable Icons/Backgrounds

You can now show off things you earn with your goolah beyond goo skins! We have added customizable Icons to your player. This way you can show off a little more personal flair

Leaderboard and stats

Some more of the stats have brought to light! You can now go to the new stats page to see how many wins you have gotten, how many goos you have mutated and more! On top of that you can now see how well you stack up against the world with the global leaderboard of goos.

Balance updates

A bit of smaller balance update this week compared to last week. We have given some goos that had lower usage rates since the last update some more reason to check them out! The burning goo/flirx, even after being buffed last week, still seemed very weak for how late you could get them. Gramma could be gotten a full turn before Flirx and had better stats. This is no longer the case as we increased the time to get Gramma and reduced the time it takes to get a Flirx, on top of that they got a pretty strong stats buff across the board. The hammer seemed to hardly ever be used so we gave it a 3x buff in attack bonuses. That should allow some good combos with Mooshy/Snaim. The Bubble Goo has been reworked a bit, we gave it more starting HP and reduced its speed. This should allow you to put it more towards the front and take a hit before it pops. Lastly some of the later game goos such as the Meow, Brumopor and devil all felt like they were underpowered for what you had to give up to get them that late in the game, they all have been given pretty good buffs.

Final Thoughts

I'm super excited for the full launch next week! It has been a blast seeing you guys play this game so far in its pre-release state. We have tons of in game events and more things to come, this is just the start. As always thank you so much for your support please let me know if you have any questions or feedback.

Update 1.4 First beta changes!

The beta has been a blast so far! I've loved being able to see everyone get to play around with the Goos and the teams that you guys have made. We have fixed a ton of bugs as well as changed some of the game balance. Lets walk through some of that. Feel free to skip down to the bottom if you just want to see the raw changes :)

Balance reasoning

The first thing I wanted to address was the early game was kind of boring. It was just rock vs rock in the first 2/3 turns. The seed bag has been moved up to a turn 0 item. This also will make it easier to change the seed into Frumptun as he can start growing a couple turns sooner. As well the Spray bottle will now come after the first turn, This means that on turn 2 there are 5 different goos that you can start to build your strategy around (Default, Rock, Flower, Seed, Moss).

The next major thing I wanted to address was goos that felt 'too strong' or 'too weak' Frumptun was the least used goo in the last update, by far, so they are getting a pretty good buff with some extra health and their item they drop now giving +4/+4 instead of +3/+3 Being able to get them sooner will also hopefully increase their usage. Mooshy and Brumpor had very high win rates in late rounds, Both of them have been given slight nerfs in the form of their item not applying before their mutation. This reduces the brumpors speed by -1 and the mushs starting attack by 5. As well the mushroom summons have been nerfed. The idea of the mushroom summons was to be 'cannon fodder' and not something that can take a hit and then also do some damage. They are now slower, lower attack, no longer have shields and have a bit more HP.

The last major balance thing you will notice is that round 1 is no longer a 'free win'. The free win was stopping the bubble goo and crybaby goo from being able to be unlocked (You need to lose your first three matches to get the crybaby) As the bubble and crybaby were not in the last meta I'm very curious to see how the integrate!

Closing Thoughts

Thank you guys so much for participating in the beta so far! Tons of more fixes and improvements are in the works! Look forward to Goo Gangs, more bug fixes and more balance coming next Wednesday.
As always, Let me know if you have any questions or comments.
