Development Diaries: Hot Island

Hello, survivors! Today we reveal information on one more island that is not available in the demo, with the previous ones being Crocodile Island and Windy Island. So, welcome to Hot Island, a small piece of land, which may not seem particularly hospitable, but will be an important part of the journey in the Survival: Fountain of Youth world.

Though small, the island can offer some rare resources, including aloe, agave and cassava trees. Their fruits are edible and can also be used for some complex medicine recipes.

Get ready to use your weapons, because the island is also the home of tegus - fast and unpleasant opponents, which can be good sources of bones, animal fat and fresh hides.

On the island, there is an ancient drawing, revealing some details of the history of these lands and the people living on them. You can also find a piece of a very useful blueprint there (no spoilers though!).

There is not much food here, but you can find a fishing spot, so be sure to bring a solid fishing rod with you.

Be sure to wishlist the game in order not to miss further news and interesting announcements!

Patch #8

Hello, everyone!

Another update for the demo is ready, introducing some important gameplay improvements, as well as balance and localization fixes. We really appreciate all your feedback helping us to develop the game and making it an enjoyable experience for everyone.

  • Changed the starting location on the Island of Hope. Now it is more spacious and suitable for building a long-term camp. We also increased the number of basic resources there including small sticks and stones.
Note: if you had any buildings/items located within this area before the patch, they may conflict with the new surroundings. Unfortunately, the only solution in this case would be to rebuild them.

  • Now there are ten items from which to choose at the prologue, we also added an Improved Fishing Rod. Living Water was replaced with a medical kit that includes Clay and Egg Ointment to heal wounds, Powder from Snakes and Spiders to treat all forms of poisoning, Sweating Potion to treat flu and Coral Powder that restores health points. Pistol now has 25 bullets (instead of 10).
  • Balanced sailing on the global map. Changed the speed of time, vitals declining, as well as clothes degrading when sailing, so now traveling between islands should feel more pleasant.
  • You can now roast short-eared dogs’ carcasses and eat them. Short-eared dogs don’t drop resources anymore.
  • The player marker on the map is now displayed even if the player is in a territory they have not mapped beforehand, so following the map is much easier now.
  • Water doesn't completely evaporate in water sources (they are called water storages now), so there will always be at least several drops of water left when you come to it.
  • Added visual tips appearing on the screen when a player receives their first injury, experiences the first illness or worsening of the disease, etc. We hope that this feature will help players understand and learn how the game works.
  • You can’t catch Malaria or receive a cold effect on the Island of Hope now.
  • Increased borders around the islands, so now you can go further distances from the shore without switching to the global map.
  • Changed the animation of Smoke Signal, now it looks more natural.
  • Added coral reefs near the Island of Hope.
  • Numerous balance and localization fixes.

Thank you for your interest in the game and support. We look forward to sharing more information about future patches and game news.

Development Diaries: Windy Island

Hello, survivors! Today we reveal one more island located in the Survival: Fountain of Youth world. Welcome to Windy Island, a relatively small piece of land covered with sand and some palm trees.

Although the island is not very large, it is possible to find rare resources on it, including aloe and agave.

Walking in search of rare resources, do not forget the jackals always looking for prey in the face of a lonely wandering traveler.

Visiting the island is one of the essential steps to progress through the story of the game.

Windy Island may be a challenging place for surviving. The wind has some negative effects, including the blocking of natural recovery or quality sleep. It is also quite hot there, which is one more thing to keep in mind.

But the island is definitely worth visiting, at least, to observe those magical sunrises, don't you think? Just don't forget to bring a fishing rod.

Patch #7

Hello, everyone!

Another update for the demo is ready, featuring a new island to explore, new storm mechanics, and some other minor changes. We know that by now some of you have probably explored each and every corner of the Island of Hope, so we decided to add some content to encourage you to sail and explore the global map a bit more.

Welcome to Coconut Island! It’s a relatively small island full of coconut palms, hence the name.

Crabs, fish and tons of coconuts — at least, hunger won’t be an issue there. You can also find some rare resources like Agave and Aloe on the island.

On the island, there is an ancient drawing revealing some details of the history of these territories. And some short-eared dogs that you like so much.

One more important part of this patch is Storms. Now, while sailing on the global map, you can get caught in a storm.

Your main goal is to follow the marker, navigate between rocks and get out without completely wrecking your vessel. It’s not an easy task, so prepare to test your sailing skills. You may also remain at your initial location and wait it out, but this way you won’t receive any experience when the storm ends.

There is also one more important alteration. We are reworking the global map, so there have been some changes and Santa Maria is now located to the right from Lonely Rock.

That’s all for now, hope you’ll enjoy today’s patch! Please remember to contact us if you encounter any issues while playing the game.

Patch #6

Hello everyone!

We are happy to announce that we released a new patch in which we added the support of German, French and Russian languages. The update also addresses some minor bugs and improvements.

We tried to check those localisations as thoroughly as possible but there still might be some bugs. If you encounter any issues, please contact us on Steam or via our Discord server.

Thanks for playing and wishlisting the game!
