Reaping the Harvest Update | Snake Region, Farms, Stormbreaker, and More

Hello, Fountain Seekers!

This is it! We are thrilled to celebrate the release of the Reaping the Harvest update with a whole new region and lots of new features and improvements. Hope you are ready to set sail and head to new uncharted lands!

But this is no ordinary expedition…

Lush mangrove forests, expansive malaria swamps, breathtaking sulfur valleys, and vast fields with bright autumn grass - the natural beauty and inherent challenges of the Snake region will create an experience unlike any other.
Snake Region
Here, vast territories that once were home to the Snake tribe sprawl beneath the skies. As you venture deep into these lands, prepare to battle not only new predators but also mighty forces of nature: chilling cold, howling winds, and heavy rains. Protection from malaria and sulfur gas will also come in handy.

Be prepared to confront new predators. Condors may or may not attack you, but they’ll definitely attack if there is a dead animal nearby. Sharp-toothed caimans will attack you regardless, once you set foot on their beloved swamps. Hammerhead sharks will push you to the sea bottom… So, a lot of new friendly creatures are waiting to meet you!

Sulfur deposits and Silver mines are essential for crafting firearms, but we also added Iron and Copper mines to the new region, as there is always a need for (m)ore.
Farming
Hope you have checked our recent Dev Diary post on Farms and already have your shovels prepared - those lush gardens won't cultivate themselves! By the way, with farming, we've also added several new plants to diversify your menu and wardrobe: Linen, Corn, Pumpkin, Tomato, Pepper, and Vanilla.
Firearms
It's time to stop running around with spears and arrows like a savage as we finally fully introduced firearms to the game. Requiring quite a number of resources, pistols, musketoons, and flintlock guns are ready to protect you from the dangers of the Snake region. Recharging takes some time though, just keep it in mind.
Stormbreaker
The legendary ship that Natives used to reach Bimini Island is now in the game. Complete Shaman's side quest line to get the precious blueprint and craft this new addition to the ships’ collection!

Apart from the usual stuff, Stormbreaker also has useful crafting machines on board (adding with each tier): primitive barrel (tier 1), clay rainwater collector (tier 2), improved smelter (tier 3), and advanced chemistry workbench (tier 4).

In one of the future updates, we’ll also add storms to the game, which Stormbreakers will be immune to. What a ship to sail!
New equipment sets
In the Snake region, you will be able to make two new equipment sets to show off in front of the local animals. Collect flax, make linen fabric, and craft the Linen set, which will be essential to battle cold.

If you are attentive enough when exploring the new region, you’ll be able to learn how to craft the Hunter set. Made with rabbit leather, it increases protection from the sun and rain. When the full set is equipped, you receive a special status that makes you less noticeable to animals and reduces stamina costs.
More books to unlock new skill effects
It’s so nice to become smarter! Collect and read books to unlock new skill effects and help with your everyday survival.
New content/Improvements
• New decorative items you’ve been asking for, including Weapon Rack, Log Storage, Twig Storage, and new animal trophies. It’s still far from furnished IKEA rooms, but we’re determined to make your houses more and more cozy with each update.
 • New machines for crafting: Excellent Workbench, Excellent Forge, and Compost Pit.
 • Improved dock! The basic dock was fine for mooring rafts and canoes, but schooners and Stormbreaker require something more presentable. The improved dock has a roof and increases fast travel speed.
 • Paralyzing arrows. These are arrows soaked in paralytic poison that paralyzes the victim for a short time (so you can bravely run away!).
 • New potions: Pinole to temporarily increase weight limit, Diligence Potion that temporarily reduces the time needed for processes, and Heating Ointment to help spend those long cold evenings...
 • More survival tasks - more survival points! We know there are always some useful abilities to level up.
Bug Fixes
• Finally fixed the grass growing through the floor.
 • Fixed the bug with progress bars freezing.
 • Fixed the bug with animal skeletons not disappearing in traps.
 • Fixed the bug with some objects becoming very dark in the shadows.
 • Fixed game crashes for some players.
 • Fixed the bug with the ship not automatically mooring to the dock when traveling between regions.
 • Fixed the bug with not being able to place trophies in inventory.
 • Fixed the bug with buildings sticking out through the Tier 2 floor.
 • Fixed the bug with Great Spanish Schooner not being able to dock, if there is a log in the rear Log Storage.
 • Multiple minor bug fixes.
Important notes
As we tried to release the new region in time, there may be several lines that are missing localization in various languages (English text will however be provided). It is a known issue, and will be fixed in one of the upcoming hotfixes!

Before we let you go on with your journey, we want to thank you for supporting us and contributing to the game’s development. Hopefully, your experience in the new region will be as enjoyable and smooth as possible, but if you encounter any issues, please feel free to let us know!

Let the adventure begin now!

Dev Diary | Farms

Greetings, Fountain Seekers!

Well, trees are already regrowing in Survival: Fountain of Youth, and we decided to develop this idea even further, especially since the more activities there are to do, the better. So…

Prepare to reap the harvest!
NEW ITEMS: SEEDS
How to get seeds? When you gather resources from certain plants or trees, there is a certain chance to also receive this nice-looking bag with seeds. Well, we know they don't naturally come in bags, but let's be honest, they’re much easier to sort out this way!

You will be able to grow many different plants that are already familiar to you, along with some new ones (around 20 in total).
NEW MACHINE: FARM
Obtaining seeds is only the first step. Some logs and a shovel - and you’ll be able to build a farm with six slots to grow your plants. There are three tiers - basic, improved, and excellent - with water tanks of various volumes and different times for plant growth.
WATERING AND FERTILIZING
Experienced farmers know that water is the main thing a plant needs to grow. Clean water, to be exact. Good news: farms automatically collect water when it’s raining. So, it's up to you whether to build more water collectors or learn some rain-summoning dance.

For already-grown plants, you can use fertilizers. Fertilizers are made of rotten food in a compost pit - another new machine type. Increasing the speed of fruit/flower/leaf growth + utilizing some of that rotten food = win-win!
NEW SKILLS: FARMING
Growing plants levels up your new skill - farming. It will give you some nice perks: reducing the time it takes to grow a plant, speeding up the resource recovery in plants on a farm, higher chance of collecting seeds from plants on a farm, etc.

And be ready to grow a garden your grandmother will be jealous of!

New autumn plants for your cozy screenshots! Can’t carve it though, but maybe in the future…

While you were reading our guide on farms, the Snake region release date moved a bit closer! It will be announced next week, so prepare your shovels, and if you have any questions about farms, the upcoming update, our plans, or basically anything, please bring them in the comments!

Dev Diary | Snake Region Sneak Peek

Dear Fountain Seekers!

The story of a 16th-century sailor searching for his crewmates and, if lucky, a magical spring, continues. The 4th story chapter is getting close to its release! While a lot of it is still being actively developed, we've reached a stage where we can shed some light on what is waiting for you in the upcoming content update. Let us give you a brief tour of this next part of the map in the Survival: Fountain of Youth world.

So, some facts about the Snake region. It got its name (no, not from the abundance of those crawling creatures) from the Snake tribe that lived here a long time ago. They were skilled healers who gathered herbs and prepared remedies against the most terrible wounds and diseases.

The Snake region will introduce you to a new set of challenging conditions to survive in. Be ready to deal with piercing colds, new dangerous predators, diseases, and story twists.

Silver Island will remind you of the Island of Hope due to its size. It’s a large island with rocks to climb, spreading meadows, multi-level plateaus, and plenty of places where you can build a large base (or several, no restrictions here!). Be careful though, new animal predators are lurking between those rocks...

Would you like a house with this view?

As you may know from your previous adventures, the Engineer and the Doctor left for Sulfur Island to find resources for gunpowder. Will you meet them there? Time will tell.

Although Sulfur Island doesn’t seem particularly hospitable, it’s an essential stop for everyone wishing to finally craft those firearms.

Well, now to Crocodile Island. Can you guess what its distinguishing feature is? A big part of it is occupied by crocodile-infested swamps. This territory is both resourceful and treacherous at the same time. Even though it serves as a great hunting spot and place to gather valuable plants, sharp-toothed crocodiles and malaria may make your stay on the island fatal.

A mysterious Labyrinth lies on the further part of Crocodile Island. Tangled corridors of rocks conceal not only valuable objects but also dangerous challenges. One of them is to find your way back.

As we wrap up for today, we're excited to see your comments and can't wait to share this content with you. Stay tuned for the next Dev Diary in which we'll tell you about farms - an important feature coming with the update.

Hotfix 1442 | Game Freezing Fix and Small Palms Respawn Fix

Hello, Fountain Seekers!

We have one more small patch for you, fixing a couple of bugs.

Here's the list of changes:
 • Fixed the issue with the game freezing on time-skipping processes.
 • Fixed the bug with Small Palms not respawning. Now all trees with logs should respawn from a stump (except for Dead Tree, for obvious reasons).
 • Grass optimization.
