New Default Keyboard Control Scheme

[p]Hey everyone, Kabloop here!

Hope everyone is enjoying the Steam Next Fest. Feedback to the DIGGERGUN Demo has been absolutely amazing, and the kind words I've received have been truly uplifting and made my day/week/year! You're all so awesome, thank you!

I know that some players have struggled a bit with the default keyboard controls, and for that I apologise. It was never my intention to make getting into the game so difficult. So I've applied a patch today that will change the default controls.

- Default Controls: The arrow keys are now used for movement with X , C, V keys being used for the other actions (based on a QWERTY keyboard). These should translate well to other keyboard types.[/p][p][/p][p]My hope is that the new default controls will allow players with a variety of different keyboard styles to get into the game quicker without having to adjust their controls. If more changes are needed, then I won't hesitate to apply them.[/p][p]Please note: Players who have already started the game and wish to use the new default controls will need to reset the controls in the settings menu once in-game. [/p][p]Players who enjoy the current, default control scheme, or have a custom control scheme need not worry as the new default controls will not wipe out their custom controls unless they reset to the default controls in the main menu.[/p][p]Players who have yet to play DIGGERGUN don't need to do anything other than make sure they've downloaded the most recent version of the game.[/p][p]For more information. players can read the patch notes here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1968180/discussions/0/624436409752713702/[/p][p]Thank you to everyone for your feedback! If you enjoy the game then please share it with your friends and be sure to wishlist, as wishlists are exceptionally important to indie game developers like myself! Thank you everyone for your support.

Happy Steam Fest! ~ Kabloop[/p]

There will be more languages to come, although I'm uncertain about the exact timings at the moment, but I will update you when they've been added!

DIGGERGUN Demo Out Now!

[p]Hello everyone, it’s Kabloop here and wow… It’s been a hot minute since my last blog post, huh! [/p][p]Quite a lot has happened since then. I’ve been debugging, implementing various translations, as well as doing lots of other little tidbits. There’s still a bit more to go but I’m happy to reveal that DIGGERGUN will still be launching this year! [/p][p]In relation to that news, you, my wonderfully patient gamers, can actually get your hands on the game… well, right now! That’s right, a DIGGERGUN demo is live and available for everyone to play!  [/p][p]The DIGGERGUN demo covers the first hour or two of the game, taking players through the opening tutorial and introducing them to the harsh world of DIGGERGUN and its oppressive gameplay. But players need not worry about struggling alone, as they’ll be joined by a charming cast of characters whose stories can change the player's fate for the better…[/p][p]Wait, what are you still doing here? Go play the demo! [/p][p]For those still around, the new DIGGERGUN demo is a part of the Steam Next Fest: October 2025 Edition. This festival runs between 13th October - 20th October, 2025, during which gamers can get their hands on loads of demos for a variety of upcoming indie games. It’s a great time to find your next infatuation, so make sure you get out there and play some games (I know I will!)[/p][p]If you play the demo and like what you see, then please wishlist DIGGERGUN. Wishlists really help a small, solo developer like myself. Even if you’re not very cash liquid right now, a wishlist can go a long way! Also, please tell your friends about the game and the demo! [/p][p]In the works is a new trailer, language confirmations and new blog posts about the game (I know I keep promising them… they will come eventually). Until next time, make sure you check out the DIGGERGUN demo and enjoy the wonderful October weather! [/p][p]~Kabloop[/p][p]

Out In The Open

[p]Hello everyone, it’s Kabloop here. I’m writing to give an update on the status of DIGGERGUN.[/p][p]In late 2024, DIGGERGUN reached the massive milestone of being “content complete”. This meant that players could play through the game from start to finish, experiencing all the character storylines, choices, and various endings.[/p][p]As a developer, this was an exhilarating time as the game was “done”... kind of.[/p][p]Unfortunately, it also meant that one of the hardest parts of the game’s development began. The polishing and testing phase. This is the time where sleeves are rolled up, a game is combed through, analysed, ripped apart and put back together again, fixed with varying degrees of digital duct tape and morphed into its final form.[/p][p]I had originally intended for this to take three months, but game development is never easy, especially for a solo developer. Even though the game was technically “content complete”, a huge heap of story content, features and quality-of-life changes have been added to DIGGERGUN, so much so that the game feels almost indistinguishable from how it was before this final phase of development started. Such is the flexibility of indie-game development![/p][p]Yet, here I am, six months later, exceptionally proud to announce that DIGGERGUN is finally complete.[/p][p]The game has been polished and balanced, tested and fixed, and I’m extremely happy with the current state of DIGGERGUN. There are still bugs to fix, and I’m sure more will crop up as new testers get their hands on the game over the next month or so, but DIGGERGUN is finally ready to move onto the next phase, which is: preparation for launch.[/p][p]If I’m completely honest, I’m in a bit of a state of shock! I’ve been working on DIGGERGUN for several years at this point, and I honestly thought this day would never come. But playing through DIGGERGUN as a gamer, not as a developer, has been a real treat. I never imagined being able to play through my game without nitpicking every little thing. But here I am, playing and enjoying it! What an amazing feeling![/p][p]I’m still finalising the details with partners, and there are a few more stages left, such as localisation, until DIGGERGUN is ready for sale; however, the hope is that players can get their hands on the game soon(™)! [/p][p]Over the next couple of weeks, I’ll be reintroducing DIGGERGUN, talking about the game's various features, characters and world. Until that time, I wish to thank everyone for their continued patience and support. I wouldn’t be anywhere without you.[/p][p]Until next time![/p][p][/p][p]~ Kabloop[/p][p]
