Devlog for Skykipelago – A Chill Building Strategy Game in the Sky

Hello, Sky Builders!

We're back this week with another portion of behind-the-scenes stuff from Skykipelago development. Let's get into it!

Recently, we've been working hard on our particle system. It has two main purposes:

• to look beautiful;
  
• to highlight important info for the player.
  

It's still WIP but you can see the results below:


These particles highlight the 'moar buildingsss' button. Whenever you run out of buildings in your queue, this particle emitter should turn on, saying 'click me for more buildings'.

Like we said last time, Skykipelago was present at Digital Dragons 2024 where everyone could play the demo and give us feedback.

Like, a ton of feedback.







And we're all sooo thankful for it! It really gave us some food for thought on how to improve the game. Exchanging opinions about many distinct aspects of Skykipelago was truly a memorable experience. And it wouldn't have been possible without you.

We're excited to announce that we'll be present on this year's Digital Dragons, which takes place in Krakow, Poland.



Not only you will have the amazing opportunity to play the demo (only at the event, it's not going to be public on Steam), but we will also gladly listen to your feedback and, well, do a high five with you. ;)

Hello, Sky Builders!

First of all, we want to thank you for being with us during Polish Constitution Days! Your commitment is invaluable and it only makes us more determined to deliver you the best quality possible.

Now, onto the UI...

Our hard-working QA testers noted that buildings that are meant for the cliffsides are not clearly visible on the Buildings List. So we added a small arrow indicating that hey, this Skyfishing Station is a Cliffside Building and therefore can't be placed on the ground.



Kudos to our talented QA Testers, who once again saved the day! Without that indicator, many players could have been easily confused during gameplay.

Exciting news! Skykipelago is participating in Polish Constitution Days 2024! It's a great honor for us and we couldn't be prouder.



That's not all, though. Our incredibly talented 2D artist, Antoni, has just put the finishing touches on some stunning new Skykipelago artwork. As you can see, we've updated our capsule image to showcase his incredible work.
