Next Fest Demo Details!

We’re now just days away from launching our newest demo for Steam Next Fest on Saturday 8th June, we hope you are as excited as we are!

For those of you who played our Playtest last month, we really appreciate you taking the time to give feedback and let us know how you found it. A few of you mentioned some areas in which you’d like to see improvements. Our team at Microbird have been working hard to incorporate those improvements into this new demo so we hope you feel the difference! Here are the main updates you’ll see in our Next Fest Demo:

We also wanted to give you a sneak preview of what you can expect to see in our newest demo! You’ll need to wrap up warm, because we’ll be taking you out to the snowy glacier of Kolmstein!

You’ll get a chance to explore the snowy mountains, learn new magic skills, and meet new enemies! You’ll also need to conquer an Ice Cave before heading back to the village to make some new friends.

We can’t wait for you to experience this exciting new part of the game!

Dungeons of Hinterberg is a spectacular RPG with a seedy underside

One of the reasons Elden Ring hit so hard was because its sprawling open world and plentiful dungeons felt a bit like the Zelda game PC has never had. Yet FromSoftware's dark, twisted world is a very different beast from the sprawling emerald plains of Hyrule, so I've been eagerly awaiting the upcoming indie RPG Dungeons of Hinterberg as a more whimsical, colorful, and laid-back adventure. Having now spent 15 in-game days in Microbird Games' virtual alpine wonderland, I'm pleased to report that it's already exceeding those expectations, and might well rank among the best PC games of this year when the dust settles.

Dungeons of Hinterberg release date, demo, trailers, and latest news

When is the Dungeons of Hinterberg release date? If you're in dire need of a vacation, then do we have the alpine resort for you! Dungeons of Hinterberg is the debut title from indie studio Microbird Games, and it's already turning heads thanks to its striking ligne claire visuals and idyllic Austrian setting.

Dungeons of Hinterberg shot to the top of our list of upcoming PC games after a Dungeons of Hinterberg preview at Gamescom 2023. In a follow-up Dungeons of Hinterberg GDC interview with PCGamesN, Curve Games franchise director Kristian von Fersen describes it as "a refreshing change where you're not constantly trying to progress or grind anything." So, if you've been looking for a magical realism coming-of-age action RPG, consider it found. We’ve been blown away by your response to our first ever playtest! It’s been amazing to see
so many of you playing and enjoying Dungeons of Hinterberg! It’s also been great to talk to so many
of you on the Discord and hear what you think of the game so far.

This playtest has now ended but don’t panic! We have a new demo coming up on 8th June for
Steam Next Fest. This demo will be exploring new dungeons, new overworlds and introducing new
characters!

Also, as part of Steam Next Fest, the team at Microbird will be going live to chat with you
about Dungeons! Our lead developers Philipp and Regina will be live streaming at 9pm BST on
Monday 10th June, showing off new parts of the game and answering your questions. Then another
member of the team will be live on Friday 14th for another chat and playthrough. Make sure you set a
reminder to tune in and get involved!

We’ll be sharing some sneak peeks of what’s to come in the demo over in the Discord, so if
you want to find some fellow adventurers and share slaying tips, make sure you head there! You can

Playtest Extended for 1 more week!

We’ve been overwhelmed by the response to our playtest so far! We’ve loved hearing everyone’s thoughts and seeing your exploits! We want to make sure as many of you as possible have a chance to play so we’re excited to announce that we’re extending the playtest until next Thursday 23rd May!

You will now have more time to explore Hinterberg and the mountain overworld, meet interesting locals and master your slaying skills! If you’ve already played through, keep your eyes peeled for upcoming announcements for more chances to play…👀
