We all need a break sometimes, and I can't think of a better kind of retreat than the one Dungeons of Hinterberg promises. As Luisa, a burnt-out law trainee in need of some down-time, we'll be venturing to the Austrian Alps for some monster slaying and dungeon-crawling action by day; and some rest, relaxation, and social interaction by night. But that's not all. We can also hit the slopes on our skis, go mountain climbing, and much more. Just as Luisa goes to the Alps for an escape from her busy corporate job, Hinterberg and its many dungeons could very well be the memorable getaway I need in 2024...

Hello future slayers! Hopefully everyone enjoyed learning a bit about the monsters and Austrian folklore that inspired them earlier this month! We’d now love to give you an in-depth intro to one of the coldest overworlds, just in time for Christmas!



Microbird co-founders Philipp and Regina guide us on a tour through the brisk yet beautiful Glacier overworld, exploring the new powers Luisa has gained here, watching out for new monsters, and taking in their gorgeous surroundings.



For the skiers among you, there might be some familiar sights in this stunning biome! Take a glide down the mountainside with Philipp and Regina and get a sneak peek of what to expect in this breathtaking setting!

As tonight we're all celebrating Krampusnacht in Austria, we wanted to share a closer look at a few of the monsters you'll encounter around Hinterberg, all inspired by Austria's mythology!

So far, we’ve told you all about the fast-paced side of Dungeons of Hinterberg: exploring dungeons, fighting monsters, being a social butterfly. But sometimes, you just need to take a step back and chill. In fact, in Hinterberg, it’s encouraged – we’re all about balance here. Relaxing is an important part of any holiday and will even make you a better slayer!

In the village, you will have the opportunity to explore solo. You could take in a film at the Kino – there’s always something new to see, and certain films might even help you later in your journey…

Or maybe you want to make the most of that fresh Alpine air! You could always go for a peaceful trip on the lake by renting a boat and taking in the beautiful village from afar. Or you can grab a drink and unwind on the terrace of your hotel, overlooking the village and listening to the merriment down below you.

Maybe you'd prefer relaxation in the classic sense and would benefit from a trip to the spa, chilling out in the hot tub!

There are also chances to loosen up outside of the village. If you’re deep in the forest, you might just stumble across a cosy cushion just begging you to get comfy and meditate for the afternoon!

We want to make sure that while you’re having the slaycation of a lifetime in Hinterberg, you’re also taking some time for yourself! This balance is just one of the ways you can become an even more remarkable slayer!
