Patch v6.4.0 – Major Class Balance Update and More

Class Skill Updates
We’ve reviewed player feedback from both veterans and newcomers to identify class imbalances.

As you probably know, in the game, you can mix up to four classes from the 15 available. The question isn’t just about which class is strong on its own, but rather which ones are worth committing to in order to find skills that synergize with others from different classes.

With this in mind, our goal with the patch was not simply to buff some numbers, we actually added new skills to struggling classes to make them more interesting.

Among around 30 class updates, we are introducing 12 new passive skills and 1 new active skill.

Fire and Ice mages received the most attention as they really struggled in mid-to-late-game, but 14 out of 15 classes received some updates. Full details and our reasoning can be found in the thread here.

Achievements Rework
Most achievements can now be earned outside of Ironman mode.
Why? A part of playerbase felt restricted by Ironman-only achievements, so we made a compromise:
- 86 achievements are now available in all modes, including one for reaching any ending.
- 5 achievements remain exclusive to Ironman for reaching all five endings on ironman.

For 100% completionists, the challenge remains almost as difficult as before, but now all players can feel rewarded.



Item Updates
Underperforming items received buffs, there are new options for lifesteal.
Item Critical chance now scales with weapon quality to make it more attractive.

Clarity Improvements
20+ passive skills that require specific conditions (e.g., night-based or weapon-based) now display buff icons when full condition is met.
This way, if you're unsure whether a poleaxe counts for spear or axe buffs, you can always check the buff icon in the lower right corner.

Fixes & Optimizations
Since the expansion’s release, we've pushed 120+ updates, including bug fixes, QoL changes, and performance improvements.
We are at a point where all reported major issues have been resolved, and we are now primarily addressing low-priority issues and some QoL requests.

Expansion and base game hotfixes

Hello everyone,

With the release of the expansion, some new bugs were introduced that unfortunately slipped through our testing efforts. A few of these issues have also impacted the base game.

We are actively working on it and have already pushed over 20 fixes.
As we address the newly introduced issues through mini-patches, we will keep this Steam thread updated.

Expansion Release: 30 Days of Community Challenges and Celebration

The expansion Return of the Old Gods has just been released today! To celebrate, we’re introducing two community challenges!
They will last for the next 30 days and are primarily intended to create small opportunities for community collaboration in an otherwise single-player game.

Challenge 1: Svarog's Memory Fragments
In the expansion area, you’ll find 46 lost shards of Svarog's memory. Collect 35 of these shards and share a screenshot to qualify for the reward.
We had a similar challenge to this one a year ago during the game's release.
Reward: Your name (or username) will be immortalized in the game on a hidden wall within the expansion area, revealed as part of an Easter egg.
Additional Note:
- Pirated copies are not eligible to participate.
- We reserve the right to request adjustments to usernames if they are inappropriate.
- We won’t provide assistance with this, but sharing information about locations on forums is entirely allowed.



Challenge 2: Community Faction Wars
During the campaign, you’ll be prompted to choose a faction to support:
-Order: House of Faith, House of Coin, or Free People
-Chaos: Underworld Horde, Devourers, or Goblins
Each faction choice contributes 1 point toward either Order or Chaos. We’ll use Steam stats to track these contributions globally.

The Stakes:
At the end of the challenge, based on the community’s collective choices, we’ll reveal the winner: Order or Chaos.
-If Order wins, a special in-game world-event tied to Order will be permanently added to the game.
-If Chaos wins, a Chaos-themed world-event will take its place.

The losing faction’s world-event will be discarded forever.

Both challenges end in 30 days, so don’t miss your chance to participate!

Expansion Preview #6: New Story and Celestial Battles

We invested four years of work into the core game, which features four endings.
Symbolically, our fifth year of development brings an expansion, and with it, a fifth ending.

Expansion Story
In the original game, the old gods remained fractured, without a unified path. The expansion seeks to change that. Our main goal was to create a narrative where the old gods stand united, and we've built an entirely new questline to make it happen.

At the heart of this story is Stribog, the god of wind. His mission is monumental: to unite the old gods, rebuild the shattered Pantheon of Oak, and mount a true challenge against the new one-God.
Will he succeed? That’s up to you.

Expansion Celestial Battles
To reflect the expansion’s bold themes, we’ve reimagined the boss fights.
Players will now face celestial foes: actual angels.

Prepare to battle three epic bosses inspired by biblical lore: Seraphim, Thrones, and Cherubim.



Developer side note: We understand that introducing biblical beings into our stories may not resonate with everyone. However, we want to emphasize that this is a fantasy game. Borrowing themes from religious mythology allows us to explore deeper ideas within the narrative, something we've done since the beginning of Svarog's Dream.

With that being said, let's return to gameplay.
As with the core game, our boss fights aim to deliver epic, unforgettable moments.
Each major enemy features a unique musical theme, with their actions synchronized to the audio theme. Here's a sneak peek:

In addition to the main story bosses, the expansion includes optional side bosses, demigods waiting to challenge you. Their stories and battles are left for you to discover.

Becoming a Demigod
In a recent preview, a player asked if it was possible to become a demigod. Initially, we hadn't planned for it, but the idea struck a chord with us. So, we made it happen.
Yes, you can now ascend to become a demigod, though exactly how remains for you to uncover.

This expansion is not just our creation, it’s a product of the incredible ideas, feedback, and support from you, the players. Many of the features you’ll experience came directly from your suggestions.
