Patch 7.1.0 And Some Thoughts

[p]Patch 7.1.0 update[/p]
  • [p]Removed weapon requirements from ~30 skills. This has been requested a few times, and it made sense for improving build variety. You can now more easily mix classes, even make something like a melee-fire caster or a marksman-necromancer if that's your thing.[/p]
  • [p]Buffed spellbooks AA damage scaling.[/p]
  • [p]Added a small chance to find a basic fishing rod in the base game.[/p]
  • [p]Some performance improvements when leading a larger army of summons.[/p]
  • [p]A handful of minor bugfixes for issues reported in the past couple of months.[/p]
[p][/p][p]Some thoughts[/p][p]It’s been almost 2 years since release, and nearly a year since the expansion. Time flies, doesn't it?[/p][p]I hope those of you who have followed the journey of Svarog's Dream are doing well.[/p][p]As mentioned before, we're happy with where Svarog's Dream is now, so there won't be major updates coming next year.[/p][p]The bigger news is that we're working on a completely new RPG, something different, and in some ways even more unique. It won't be an ARPG this time, but rather a game that dives deeper into philosophical themes. I can't share much yet, but a proper announcement is planned for the end of Q2 next year. [/p][p][/p][p]If you've enjoyed our work so far, keep an eye out for that reveal. [/p][p][/p]

A Huge Thank You!

One Month After the Expansion
It’s been a month since the expansion launched, and with it, our celebration event has came to an end.

We crafted this expansion as a way to give more to all the great players who have supported the game since its release. We worked hard, without huge expectations.
Well, it backfired in the best possible way, as the expansion's release was a much bigger success than we anticipated.

Thousands of you picked up the game last month, and on January 12th, 1,610 players were online in a single day - a new record, even surpassing our original launch!

Reading your feedback has been a highlight of this journey. Your words of support for the game have meant the world to us. Thank you for playing, and thank you for sharing your experiences with us. It makes all the work truly worthwhile.

Expansion Challenges – Final Results
The challenges are now officially over! 120+ players have earned a place on the Expansion Eternal Wall, and in the second challenge, the Order side emerged victorious. More details on the event location and the Order’s world event can be found here: link
Congratulations to everyone who participated!

As a bonus celebration, we’ve also added two new hand-drawn animated Svarog's Dream stickers to the Steam.

Looking Ahead
With the expansion wrapped up, we’ll be taking some time off during spring and summer to rest and focus on life-related matters.
We’ll still provide support and release smaller updates if necessary, but things won’t be as fast-paced as they were for the past month.

As for the new projects, there are plenty of ideas written down—some even for a completely different kind of game. But for now, nothing is set in motion. We won’t start working on anything until winter, and we won’t discuss future plans until we’ve had time to explore what works, what doesn’t, and until we see where life takes us.

Once again, thank you so much!
I hope this game brought something positive to your life, or at least that you had an enjoyable time playing it.

Patch v7.0.0 and Game Stability Period

Patch v7.0.0
The new patch is live! It includes 10 new craftable potions, a few new rings of power, stability updates, 3 new QoL game settings and various other fixes.
Check out the details here.

Game stability period
From our perspective, the game is complete and in a good place. We’ve implemented the majority of what we wanted, and on top of that, we’ve added a huge number of ideas from you, the players, that come after original release.

To give you an idea, since the expansion release (in the last 40 days), we’ve received over 210 ideas, reported issues, and QoL update requests from you. Of those:
160+ were implemented (~75%), 27 were marked as low priority, 23 we couldn’t reproduce or were rejected.
Since the release, we’ve acted on most of the feedback and implemented over 1,000 smaller and larger updates across more than 100 game patches.

Nothing is ever perfect, but we’re happy with how things look now.
In the period ahead, the game will not receive new content updates or major reworks. That said, we are still here to provide technical support, and smaller patches may be released if new fixes are needed.
To make support easier, we now have a wiki and a technical troubleshooting guide. If that doesn’t help, just reach out to us.

We will find time to assist you!

Making death a bit more interesting

If you're not fully familiar with how death works in this game, you can read more about it on the wiki.
Some players love the reincarnation system, while others aren’t big fans. This update aims to make it more enjoyable for everyone by improving the fun parts and cutting the frustrating bits.

Patch v6.5.2 – What’s New?

Character Rerolls
After death, you can now reroll your next character for 3 God’s Favors.
You can keep rerolling as long as you have God's Favors to spend or until you find the chosen one.
12 New Characters
Each comes with a unique (Expertise) talent, only obtainable through resurrection.
These new talents are designed to shake up different playstyles and can only be acquired by finding the right characters in a much larger pool of those with common traits.
Gender
If two characters of the same gender appear, the third will be the opposite.
Consequences -
After dying too many times, the consequences on the world will become more visible than before.

There are a few more tweaks and game updates, check the full details in this thread.

The idea here is to give you more control over who you play after death, and maybe even leave you more excited to continue than before you died.

One of the Last Major Updates Before Our Break
We’ll be taking a longer break soon, but before that, this Saturday, we’ll be posting expansion release challenge results and our reflections on January. Stay tuned!

Wiki, New Difficulty Settings, and Game Fixes

Wiki
Over the past 10 days, we've been working on the game's wiki page, which you can find here:
https://svarogsdream.wiki.gg/wiki/Svarog%27s_Dream_Wiki

It’s an open wiki, meaning anyone with an account on that site can contribute, improve, or expand it.

We dumped a bunch of game data, including a list of all items, quests, and more. Feel free to check it out!

Cursed Difficulty
We've added a new difficulty, and we strongly recommend not enabling it unless you've already completed the game on Hard.
This is a challenging mode where, on top of increased difficulty, you must choose one of the following curses:
A) Enemies grow stronger over time.
B) Enemies grow stronger as you grow stronger.
C) Enemies don't grow but they start much stronger and all healing effects are reduced by 50%.

You can pick only one of the three. This feature is optional, disabled by default, and can be toggled on or off at any time during gameplay.

Additionally, Patch v6.4.5 is now live! Along with this new difficulty mode, it includes over 20 QoL updates and fixes:
