We're proud to have taken part with this trailer in the The Mix Direct Spring 2023 Showcase. We won't say anything about the other games, but we're positive they didn't have a taxi quite like ours! 🚕

Good vroomy day to you all, we have a short update to the demo for today. Patch notes below:

• Fixed a bug related to portals activating sooner than intended
  
• Deobfuscated code and created a mod master script to allow room for modding
  
• Hub and Bombeach music tracks have been reworked
  
• You can now toggle the chromatic aberration in the settings menu

Hey hey taxi lovers! 🚕

We've been humbled by your feedback so far and we have an update for the demo build which already incorporates some feedback we got from the community, as well as a new paint job on Morio's lab, since he got bored of the old one!

Here's the full list of changes:

• WASD keys now work in the main menu
  
• Jump timing window is now larger, and it’s overall easier to perform.
  
• You can now press flip and brake together as well
  
• (Narrator: I wonder why I hadn't thought of that before hahaha…)
  
• Lab gear is now shining in rainbow colors to avoid confusing it with a gear that can be picked up
  
• Menu text now bounces way less, for readability purposes
  
• Coins lost at death are now 30 instead of 50
  
• Can you reach the top of Morio’s Grandma’s statue? Because we put a little something there :P
  
• Changed Morio’s Home layout to be less reliant on the jump
  
• Flip can now destroy Oil Pumps, as it was always meant to
  
• Respawn sequence now is faster after 3 deaths, it will skip the “Get Ready, Go” sequence
  
• Granny’s Hub Island portals now stay active after a death
  
• Added the option in the menu for tweaking the master volume
  
• Obfuscated some code to avoid excessive spoilers. Planning some in-house modding support to compensate for that :)
  
• Added a motion blur setting, for people sensitive to low frame rates
  
• Mori-o-tron now takes you to the closest checkpoint if you haven’t activated one already
  
• Morio was bored so he gave the lab a fresh coat of paint
  
• Changed Pici's dialogue about the jump, to make it easier to understand
  
• Fixed a bug with the speedrun timer, which made the timer go slower.
  
• The speedrun timer is also using DOUBLE precision
  
• Fixed a few minor visual bugs after the lab rework
  
• Fences do not block camera anymore
  
• You can now exit out of the game using just your controller buttons
  
• Changed the taxi shadow to a round one for better depth perception
  
• Secret stuff ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

But what even is a Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom?

Since you asked, we're pretty sure it's a game. You play by driving around the twists and turns of a trippy world, unlock collectibles, collect unlockables and meet lots of weirdos in the process.
Some would call it an arcade platformer, but since we didn't add a jump button, we say it's a bump'n'jump game ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
