Infantry Beta Hotfix

A quick hotfix that sorts the following...

1. Splash screen background is now black again - really no idea what happened there at all!

2. BMPs now burn correctly after being destroyed.

3. Landing Skid physics corrected.

infantry Beta Update

This update adds the following...

1. Updates the infantry A.I. so they can now engage in infantry vs infantry combat.

2. Fixed a bug which prevented the infantry from carrying on with their orders after combat

3. Upgraded the infantry detector system so that they now use the same "VTR" (Visual, Thermal, Radar) system as all other vehicles. Their vision is now categorised as "Eyeball Mk1"!

4. Infantry can no longer be shot at while inside a vehicle

5. Infantry can no longer engage units when inside a vehicle

6. You can now close the Command Menu by pressing "Command Menu Back" when at the root of the tree.

7. Updated the wheel physics on the Apache as the wheels were set at 500kg in weight! While this doesn't make any difference to take off weight it may have been the cause for some odd behaviour when landing.

8. Updated the wheel brakes system so that it works correctly no mater whether it receives an input of +1 or -1 and the axis/button assigned to it.

Known Bugs

1. Infantry will currently not use MANPADS. Should have that fixed tomorrow.

Infantry Beta Update

This update adds the following....

1. The infantry mission will now take place in enemy territory but it will still be fairly close to the front line. Enemy units may be present in the village too so scout the area before trying to deploy Team Alpha.

Known bugs - If enemy infantry are in the village and you deploy Team Alpha they will not engage in combat correctly and then may fail to complete their mission. I shall be looking into this behaviour tomorrow and fixing it ːsteamhappyː

2. Fixed a FSR/DLSS issue where the terrain textures would become blurry for a split second when the floating origin system reset the world position.

3. Updated the floating origin system so world resets happen less often.

4. Fixed an issue were mission critical vehicles would sometimes be assigned to the wrong team side resulting in enemy "friendly fire" taking them out!

5. Added a new mode to the Altitude Hold autopilot that allows you to switch it into "Above Sea Level" mode rather than "Radar" (terrain following) mode.

To switch modes make sure Alt Hold is enabled and then either hold down "Cycle Autopilot Modes" (joypad users left stick click by default) or "Toggle Altitude Hold" and the target altitude display should switch for "R" to "ASL" after holding for 1 second.

The autopilot will automatically set the target altitude to your current altitude suitable for the selected mode.

Infantry Beta Update

This update adds the following...

1. New Infantry BETA mission which revolves around finding one or more IED factories in a civilian village. This mission is running in a testing mode so the village will be placed in allied territory and will be undefended. This is just to allow for more rapid testing - it will become much more difficult in the future :)

For now though, it showcases picking up and dropping off infantry units as well as having units outside your control performing their own mini missions - in this case the infantry will search a number of houses and you'll be able to watch them move around.

This mission also showcases the more in-depth radio communications that can occur during the missions.

To load infantry make sure your helicopter is equiped with seats for the troops. This means you need to use either the Lynx or Hind series of helicopters. Gazelles don't have enough seats and you can't split infantry units across multiple helicopters. Then simply land near the marked waypoint and open your doors and the infantry will "snap" into the seats.

To unload infantry it is the same proceedure. Land at the designated waypoint, open your doors and the infantry will disembark.

2. Updated the Alt Hold system so it automatically switches to finer control when your altitude is below 10m and speed less than 5ms (about 10kts). This allows you to perform much smoother landings while utilising the Alt Hold/Hover Hold system.

Once on the ground you can continue to reduce the target altitude to -1m. This will ensure the autopilot maintains 0% collective while you're landed.

3. Added a new "Nose Cam" position which places the camera on the nose of the aircraft (or there abouts) in much the same way a bonnet or bumper cam does in car games. The camera position is classed as an interior view so maintains the same Field of View as the other cockpit positions. It is also fully TrackIR compatible!

4. Added a new option in the "Game Settings" menu to turn off the rotor blades of your helicopter when in any interior view and is compatible with the "Nose Cam" position detailed above. The blades will remain fully visible in 3rd person view.

CH-47 Chinook Colour Schemes

These are the initial 7 colour schemes that the Chinook will come with. The Chinook will also be fully compatible with the current "Custom Textures" system so you'll be able to edit and create your own designs using your favourite image editing software.
