Infantry Beta Update

This is a quick update before the main SU-25 update next week to fix a few bugs etc...

1. Added in the new skins for the AH-1Z Viper. These skins are available for both the AH-1Z and AH-1Z CRS helicopters.

The files for each texture can be found in....

#GameInstallLocation#\Helicopter Gunship DEX_Data\StreamingAssets\Helicopter Skins\#HelicopterName#

and that is the same place to drop your own textures in.

2. Fixed the pricing for the Hind helicopters so it now matches the drop down menu values.

3. Fixed infantry and cargo loading into the Mi-24VP

4. Updated the player bubble system so you should see a bit of a performance increase.

5. Refactored and updated the "Standard Detector" system that controls radar, visual and various other detectors. It should also be a little more performant but the main advantage is it is extremely scalable.

6. Map no longer disappears from the debrief screen on the "Central Libya" map.

7. Re-balanced some of the bomb damage is it was varying too much resulting in Mk-82s not always getting a kill when it should have.


Viper Skins

Here some preview renders of the Viper's camo variations.

I'm aiming to have 6-8 camo variations for each helicopter. You'll also notice that there are no military lettering on the aircraft, this is so you can add your own as all the camo variations will be editable in your favourite image editor! ːsteamhappyː













Infantry Beta Update

A couple of fixes for the last patch....

1. Viper now no longer flies into the ground or soars into the sky every so often! This actually effected all the helicopters but only the Viper seemed to be noticeable.

2. Intro screen now has a black background again. No idea why that happens sometimes.

3. Hopefully fixes issues with radio sound effects not playing.

Update for Infantry Beta

This update adds the following...

1. "HERO" exterior for AH-1Z Viper & AH-1Z Viper CRS. The texture mapping has changed and now uses 3 different maps for the exterior texturing. You can find these maps in #GameDirectory#/Helicopter Gunship DEX_Data/StreamingAssets/Helicopter Skins/

The UV mapping has been totally redone so old custom textures will not work.

The mesh for the Viper has also been split into several sections ready for when I start looking at damage & destruction. This will allow bits of your helicopter to fall off etc.

2. AGM-122 homing behaviour has been updated so that it will home in on Radar sources that have locked on to you. This allows you to "bait" air defences into locking on to you so you can return fire with the Sidearm before retreating to cover.

In addition, when you launch the missile it will query your TSD for any Radar pings received within the last second and will home in on that source if it is within the missile engagement envelope. This allows you to fire a missile immediately after getting pinged and be pretty sure the missile will home in on that source.

3. When using the mouse to control the cyclic holding the "Hold for Cyclic Look" button now works correctly allowing you to look around with the mouse.

4. Removed the Su-25 support option for the moment.

This should be the final update before the SU-25 launch and I will probably swap the beta to a "Fixed Wing" beta or something similar.

This update will the be pushed out to the public branch as it contains some important updates and fixes.

Viper HERO Exterior and MRLS!

Some screenshots of the new HERO Viper exterior in game and the upcoming MRLS. The Viper will be included in tomorrows update and will be fully compatible with skin mods.
