1. Wingman helicopter selection is saved between mission correctly.

2. Harrier's autopilot now works correctly.

3. Fixed incorrect rocket pods being used on the Harrier.

4. Harrier can now retract its landing gear correctly.

5. Clamped the target altitude for the autopilot so it won't go any lower than -1m and has a maximum value of 200m

7. Updated the Start Button so it is more obvious when you cannont start the mission due to too many deployment points.

Infantry Beta Update

Happy New Year! ːsteamsunnyː

This update is focused on UI, controls and other bits & pieces ːsteamhappyː

1. Improved the Autopilot in both hover hold and alt hold modes to be more responsive.

2. Hover hold autopilot now has a "creep" facility where pushing the cyclic will move the helicopter in the direction at upto 5kts allowing you to adjust your position when hovering without having to drop out of hover hold.

3. Various settings have been moved onto their own menu pages so there is now Video Settings, Audio Settings, Game Settings, Control Settings and Control Bindings. This grouping is much more logical now!

4. Control Bindings screen now groups controls into their own sections. This should make finding and binding controls much easier.

5. Added default Keyboard, Generic Gamepad and Generic HOTAS bindings.

6. Mouse Flight Control has now been added and can be enabled from the Control Settings menu. You do not need to bind the mouse to cyclic control - it will automatically be picked up.

I would recommend binding "Fire" to Left Mouse Button and "Cycle Weapon" to Right Mouse button. If you have extra buttons then "Next Target" and "Previous Target" works well.

You can also adjust the Speed of Mouse X/Y in the Control Settings menu. I would start at 25% and work from there - the actual value required will depend greatly on your mouse's DPI settings.

You can also enable relative mouse controls but they don't really agree with me but your mileage may vary! Enabling the "Show Cyclic Position on HUD" option will help you visualise your cyclic's position.

7. Rotor blades now generate thrust depending on their rotational speed so you won't be able to take off until they reach a suitable RPM.

8. Fixed a crash if you went to start the mission but then went back and changed your helicopter.

9. Rebalanced rockets. S-5 are now a little more powerful.

10. Added "Motion Blur" option to "Video Settings". Mainly effects the rotor blades and smoothes them out a little.

11. "Control Bindings" screen now displays correctly for all aspect ratios.

12. Fixed Norway's terrain maps so that they show up in the Mission Debriefing correctly.

13. Updated drop downs so it is obvious which ones are active and which are not.

14. Various UI tweaks including getting rid of most of the boring grey buttons, resizing and unifying menu titles, new screen surround.

----------

All of these changes will be ported over to the default branch in the next few days as they are quite important updates.

As long as I don't find any critical issues I will be continuing with the infantry beta as planned. ːsteamhappyː

Infantry Beta Update

This update adds the following....

1. Fixed a bug in the physics system for infantry which would sometimes cause the infantry to "cartwheel" when deploying. In fact, they're no longer a true physics object and simply snap to the terrain.

2. Added proper physics to each individual soldier so that when they die they will be effected by the force of whatever killed them. Basically, if you drop a rocket on them then they will go flying which is, unfortunately, quite entertaining! ːsteamlaughcryː

3. Dead infantry now remain on the battle field for 30 seconds until being removed.

4. Updated all missiles and bullets so they can correctly kill infantry units.

This is the final update for the beta before the Christmas break. The next update will be focused on getting some proper infantry models into the game and then we'll be getting them to deploy from the helicopters ːsteamhappyː

Have a great Christmas!

Infantry Beta Update

This is the 1st update for the new "Infantry Beta". You can opt into the beta by following the instructions here...

https://steamcommunity.com/app/2012140/discussions/0/3765605292796542767/

Infantry are currently represented as square blocks and this update is just a proof of concept for infantry loading and unloading logically from their APC/IFV.

All BTR and BMP vehicles now carry an 8 unit infantry team. Be default infantry will remain inside their transports and will only disembark when in combat or when their transport vehicle detects and engages a target.

This means what you should see is infantry units appearing next to their vehicles if you shoot their vehicle or if their vehicle shoots at you.

infantry will load/unload 1 by 1.

Infantry will currently not shoot at you, but you can shoot and kill them. The infantry units will simply disappear when killed. You do not get any points for killing infantry units.

Obviously the next stage is to get some suitable soldier models into the game as well as some animations for walking, running, shooting and dying - but the base systems are now in place which is a good step forward.

Other Updates

1. You can now reset your helicopter by pressing "r". This will instantly return your helicopter to its initial take off pad and re-orientate it correctly. This is useful if you are learning to fly and flip your helicopter.

There's currently no penalty for resetting your helicopter but, in the future, it will invalidate the mission and you'll get no score.

However, in the future, flipping your helicopter will likely destroy the main rotor blades which will result in a critical failure anyway at which point I'll add a "Repair & Reset" option for those who don't want to restart the mission in full.

Again, you'll get no score for the mission as it will be seen as a "cheat", but it should help those who are just getting to grips with the game. ːsteamthumbsupː

You can rebind this control in the "Control Settings" menu.

2. All helicopters have received a flight model adjustment.

3. MTOW for all helicopters has been recalculated and normalised so that when MTOW is reached your helicopter will only just be able to hover outside ground effect. Skilled players will be able to overload their helicopters further but doing so will most likely prevent the helicopter from being able to hover outside of ground effect until it has burnt or used a suitable amount of fuel/ordnance.

New Weapon Systems Incoming!

A couple of images showing some upcoming weapon systems. I'll let you guess which platform these are for ːsteamsunnyː
