The Road to Havendock 1.0

[h2]Hey, Settlers![/h2]

I’m actively working on updates for Havendock. My focus now is on steering the game toward version 1.0. I'd like to present a roadmap with the key updates leading up to its release.



Even after 1.0, I plan to add more content to the game. There’s plenty to look forward to!

The first update, Clownfish, Spycam, is already in the game. It includes Clownfish Breeding (with different rarities), an Underwater Expansion, and new research (Spycam and Great Barrier Reef).

[h2]Here’s what’s coming next:[/h2]

[h3]Content Update #2 – Oysters & Seafood Platter[/h3]
Oysters will spawn underwater and you can harvest them to cook a new premium dish. It can be used to upgrade Kewi Birds later! (Available in experimental, coming to main branch soon.)



[h3]Content Update #3 (February) – Kewi Traits[/h3]
To prepare for new islands that will increase reliance on inter-island transport, I’m introducing Kewi Traits. These will give your loyal Kewi birds specialized abilities, making them more essential for your growing settlement.



[h3]Content Update #4 (March) – New Buildings
[/h3]Several buildings are getting new upgrade tiers! These upgrades will eventually require materials from Astro Island and let you create a base that’s stronger (and maybe a little overpowered) than ever before.



I am also working on a potential Housing Revamp that removes Sleeping Rocks.

[h3]Content Update #5 (April) – Astronomy Island
[/h3]Unlock the next level of automation with drones, available on Astronomy Island. It’s time to push your settlement to new heights!

v0.73.4 is released

v0.73.3 - Depth of Field toggle

v0.73.3 is released.



You can now toggle Depth of Field under ESC > Settings > Graphics:



The 'map' item you get from saving a particular NPC will now be a requirement to reach the final island.

Changelog:
  • Add Depth of Field toggle graphical setting
  • Map item is now required to build Dragonboat
  • Map item description changed
  • Fix 'water dispenser' and 'shortcut key' guidebook entries displaying wrong text and video (credits: Cakeshack)

v0.73.2 - Clownfish, Spycam, Oysters!

The v73 Clownfish update has been released on the main branch. Explore the seas with new underwater friends!

Clownfish Breeding


Breed clownfish to help you deliver resources underwater. They have different rarities, similar to baby seagulls.



Underwater Expansion


New buildings and resources have been unlocked.



New Research


Two research branches (10 new researches) have been added: Spycam and Great Barrier Reef



Spycam allows you to see incoming settlers' traits, and the strongest research even has a chance to have them arrive with Level 3 traits. This started off as a Quality of Life update so you can see whether to accept or send off incoming settlers, but I decided to take it further and add it as a research that can even improve the chance of getting better traits!

Great Barrier Reef upgrades improve clownfish efficiency - increasing their swim speed, breeding speed and even improving corals' quality that lead to better chance of higher rarity clownfish!

[h3]Patch notes:[/h3]
  • You can now breed clownfishes which transport items underwater
  • Added new Marine tab underwater
  • Added new clownfish research branch
  • Added new underwater items
  • Added new underwater buildings:
  1. Coral Reef
  2. Aquarium
  3. Clownfish Feeder
  4. Anemone

Fixes:
  • Fix able to access cow island prematurely via boat resulting in stuck
  • Mother Kewi now requires the second boat to ride to prevent stuck at cow island


On experimental branch, new content has also been added. Introducing Oyster Catchers, Seafood Platter.

Oysters, Seafood Platter


You can now catch oysters underwater and make seafood platter, a new premium dish.



These will be required for learning Kewi Traits which will be released next month. They can also be fed to settlers to restore 80 hunger.



Experimental Patch Notes:
  • Oysters now spawn underwater
  • Add new food: Seafood Platter
  • Add Oyster
  • Add new marine building: Oyster Catcher
  • Fix aquarium upgrades not increasing speed
  • Fix clownfish swimming at wrong height
  • Categorized clownfish eggs as animal in inventory tab


[h3]How to opt into experimental branch (for Windows):[/h3]
Right click Havendock in your Steam library > Betas > Select experimental (no code is required)



The experimental branch gives early preview of content and may have bugs and subject to balancing changes - if that scares you, backup your save or consider waiting for the main branch's release.
